following: line crossing (also known as Albert's Test), letter cancellation, star cancellation, copying,

Program Models There are two main training models utilized at the graduate level within the field of
psychology. The Scientist–Practitioner model was the first to be developed and is used in most of
the Ph.D. programs throughout the country. This model emphasizes the importance of conducting
empirical research while learning the clinical skills necessary to treat clients. On the contrary, the
Practitioner–Scholar model emphasizes learning the appropriate clinical skills in a more applied and
hands–on manner, while becoming avid consumers of research. The Practitioner–Scholar model is
the preferred training model for Psy.D. programs.

There are challenges that Dr. Correia goes through on occasion. One problem he has is working with
the patient's provider and figuring out what exactly the provider wants him to do. Sometimes it's
difficult to figure out what specific tests the provider wants to have Dr. Correia do. Another problem

Dr. Correia serves two different populations. The first and most common population is the elderly,

Correia sees is children and young adults. Most of these patients get hurt from sports injuries to the
head. He usually does not see patients in their 40's and 50's because they are usually too young to
have Alzheimer's and usually too old to be playing sports or doing things that would cause a head

Halfway through the fall semester of my junior year in college, I realized the career path I wanted to

According to Meier (2012) cannabis use in teenage years can lead to cognitive decline. Heavy
cannabis use at a younger age can lower a person's IQ and as an adult this decline is not seen.
Cannabis use can be associated or connected to many things involving cognitive function. One
relationship that can be correlated is the relationship among cannabis use and neuropsychological
impairment for teenagers. In the present paper, I will explain the role that cannabis plays on
neuropsychological test performance. It is hypothesized that persistent cannabis use at a younger age

peer–reviewed article and news article that was closely related to this article and study to support

The students will be introduced to the peculiarities of the assessment process in special population
as preschool children, brain–damaged populations, psychotic patients, mentally and/or physically
disabled cases, violent and/or emotionally disturbed cases, and the mentally retarded. Students will
be familiarized with different strategies in clinical assessment, namely: assessment interview;
cognitive assessment; personality assessment; perceptual, sensory, and sensorimotor assessment;
behavioral assessment which includes naturalistic observation, self–monitoring and
controlled/systematic observation; and clinical judgment which includes quantitative and subjective
approaches. Opportunities for supervised administration and interpretation procedures and tests to
actual cases will be provided and will be conducted in Psychology Laboratory. At the end of the
course, the student is expected to have acquired the skill of establishing report with a client and
preparing a case report.

From the beginning, doctors were quite explicit in stating how lucky she was to be bilingual because
it will help preserve her cognitive functioning and delay her onset of symptoms, as is explored in a
review by Bialstok, Craik, and Luk (2012). However, the concept of bilingualism helping cognitive
functioning seems to be a topic of debate, challenged recently in a review by Paap, Johnson, and
Sawi. Bialstok et al state that Bilingualism is not usually preselected for talent because on average
they did not choose to be bilingual but are by circumstances. Bilingualism has been linked to

working within the research or academia fields and their requisite settings of universities, and
