Dream Big I clearly remember the day my mother brought home a small wooden desk for me. I
cherish that desk so much because not only did I use it to do my homework, but I also used to play
"school". Even though I was very young, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. So the years went by and I
was now a senior in high school and so close to achieving my goal of being a teacher. I knew
attending college would be difficult, my parents, older sister, and I had no clue where to begin, or if
it was even possible for me to attend. My parents saw my desire to go, but their inability to speak
English and not knowing the process to take when entering college did not allow them to be much
help. So I started researching and visiting my counselor. My counselor offered me information and
guided me through each step of the way. I come from an enormous family, I have a total of 15 aunts
and uncles and they have multiple children, and I am proud to say that I was the first one in my
entire family to attend college. I would commute daily and had a part time job to help my parents
pay my way to college, so it was very difficult and tiring. The reason I commuted was because as a
Latino I am very family oriented, so I want to be close to my family and save. I also had a job, with

The country I choose to compare with the United States was one of its neighbors, which is Canada.
In lieu of the race for the next President, my decision was simple; is Canada really a better option? I
have heard countless people say, "If Trump is elected, I'm moving to Canada," so I figured it was
time to look at the numbers. During my analysis of the two countries, I was not too surprised how
similar they were in their raw statistics. There were some differences that I will point out, and it led
me to draw a few conclusions on the 'better' place to live, especially receive an education.
Educating a countries citizen is a paramount goal for both countries. Both countries rank in the top
ten for amount of money allocated per student at a primary level with U.S. ranked 4th and Canada
ranked 9th. Although there is a significant difference in the amount of my rather than rank with
$11,030 spent in the U.S. versus $9,680 in Canada, they remain ranked in close proximity.
Interestingly enough, Canada is ranked lower than they United States, 6th and 7th respectively, in
graduating students from upper level secondary programs, such as high school or G.E.D. programs
(OECD., n.d.). In this case, Canada is more efficient with using less money and getting better

I was born and raised in Nigeria: a populous country with more than 250 ethnic groups. I speak two

way to school. One class had almost 30 students or more with just one teacher, so the teacher doesn't

When doing the research I was surprised to learn that the United States and Kenya were in close
relation. I was even more surprised that they had the main similarity of their education system yet so
many differences beyond that. It was hard for me to understand that Kenya was similar to the United
States but yet was ranked so low in the education world. After doing my research I see the reasons
why. Education is hard for wealthy countries and even harder for countries in poverty. Money,
space, resource, and teachers are a huge factor in determining the succession of the education world.
It would be hard for me to teach in Kenya due to the wealthy vs poor issues. I see students as
humans I don't look at them and assess their economic standings. However, I am truly surprised and
impressed but how much growth Kenya has. They have grown so much and changed their education

This house believes that comprehensive regulations should be imposed on post– secondary
institutions to lessen the burden of what is considered high, debt–incurring tuition for each post–
secondary student. This house will create a committee that will watch over all public colleges'
expenses known as the American Collegiate Committee (ACC) that this bill will later address in
greater detail. This house believes that each individual student should receive their own customized
tuition price based on their financial need, which will be established through a questionnaire that
will be filled out during the process of applying to the institutions that this bill will impact. Section
1: Public Enhancement This bill has come about to help certain individuals receive an affordable
post–secondary education, which has become a burden due to the high demands resulting from
post– secondary institution tuitions. We want to aid the very people to be affected by this bill. Sub
Section 1: Once the bill is established, any person legally residing within the United States,
including the fifty states and the District of Columbia as an American citizen, an American resident,
