How is camera, (sound), and mise en scene used in the
opening of ‘Skyfall’ to establish narrative and setting?
James Bond is a ‘lone soldier’ as he is mostly in his own when completing
his mission which suggests to the viewers that throughout the film, he will
continue his missions on his own as the opening scene determines the
expectations of the film
- The out of focus silhouette creates an effect of mystery to add
- The low key lighting creates a sinister and mysterious effect
- The close up shots show detail on something specific that’s being focused on.
- The low angle shows the importance of the character.
- Point of view shows the perspective of the character and shows what that’s
happening through their eyes.
