1. HOW DID MY PRODUCTION
SKILLS DEVELOP
THROUGHOUT THIS
PROJECT?
2. CAMERA WORK
To film my thriller opening I used my own camera which is a Canon 750D. From this being
my own camera I’d had quite a lot of experience with it so I knew how to do the basics.
However, I usually use this camera for photos so filming with this camera was new to me.
Working out out to make certain shots look good by, for example zooming in and out and
learning how to focus was all new to me.
My production skills have developed through my camera work as I now know how to use
my camera properly to film and make certain shots look good. This will help me for future
media products and have a better understanding of and about this industry.
3. BLOGGER
In order to record my process in learning
about thrillers and making my own thriller I
used an online blogging site called
‘blogger.’ Before using blogger I had never
created a blog before which meant that
using blogger was new to me.
Using Blogger has developed my production
skills because being able to track my
process and having something to refer back
to has been really helpful.
I will be able to use blogger confidently in
the future within future projects.
4. FINAL CUT PRO
In terms of editing my thriller film I used the
program ‘Final Cut Pro.’ The only thing I have
previously used that is remotely similar to final cut
pro is Imovie. However, final cut pro has a lot more
technical aspects to it and due to this, I had a lot
more to learn. Things such as, adding titles, effects,
selecting and cutting clips etc;
Using final cut pro helped my production skills
develop a lot as when starting this project I knew
nothing about editing. After experiencing the use
of Final Cut Pro I was easily able to adapt to its
features and teach myself how to use it.
5. QUICK TIME PLAYER
In order to screen record my film and other clips o use for my
evaluation I had to use an app called ‘Quick Time Player.’ quick
time player was completely new to me when I first used it.
Quick time Player has helped me develop my production skills
throughout this project as I now know how to use it through
future projects, also it really helped me throughout my
evaluation as I was able to easily refer back to my film when I
needed too.
