   Barton College

       Kyle Holliday
    Admissions Counselor

      Krystal Rowland
    Admissions Counselor
Before a Campus Guest Program was
            established…
March 2007
  – Scheduled visit times were not available
  – Counselors were in charge of the overall visit
    including tours
  – Professors would sporadically meet with families
  – Dining options were not offered
  – Evaluations of experience were not collected
  – Thank you for visiting notes were mailed
The Road to Success
• Worked with Performa Higher
  Education to enhance visit
  programs
• Performa made
  recommendations to make the

  campus visit customized,
  personalized, and distinctive
• Created the position of Campus
  Guest Coordinator
Marketing the Campus Visit
• Used integrated marketing:
   – Ruffalo Cody
   – Social Media: Facebook, Twitter
   – Direct Mail
   – Counselor Phone Calls and
       Telecounselor Calls
• Sent special email blasts
• Established a presence on
  Barton’s home page
• Created guest brochures
  detailing visit and open house
  options
Students request a visit and we send them a
    confirmation right to their pocket.
A special welcome for
     our guests…
… continues inside
  the Admissions
  Welcome Center.
Welcome to Barton

   Mitchell Ford
Meet your Admissions Counselor…
…and your Financial Aid Representative.
See the classroom experience firsthand…
…and take a tour of campus with a Student
              Ambassador.
Meet Kevin Randall
“Working with the admissions
staff as well as the veteran
  ambassadors has helped me
  build self-confidence; overall
  understanding of my role as
both a student and a member
  of the Admissions team; and
  has added to the warm
  feeling on campus.”
A special surprise in
  the post office…

                        ….and a little good luck…
…then top your day off with lunch.
Handwritten thank
  you notes are
 mailed to every
     visitor.
Our prospective students have this to say
            about their campus visit…
• “It’s a great place to be. It’s a place
where I’ve felt welcomed and loved.
It meets many standards I set for
  my education and life plan.”
• “We had a very positive
experience with all the staff we
  encountered at Barton. Everyone
was very helpful, positive and happy

   to accommodate us.”
• “It seems like a high-quality college in
  a supportive community.”
