2. Since our textual analysis during the research part of the process we have based our
production on a BBC3 documentary. We chose to research the BBC mission
statement:
3. Our production fits the BBC's mission statement in the following of ways:-
Our product serves to enrich the lives of the public in the form of education,
information and entertainment. For example, we will entertain our younger fox
thinker audience by using a variety of footage ranging from, interviewing the public
to montage shots of body builders to meeting a female competitor and taking on
board her thoughts on the social media craze #fitspiration. We will educate our
audience through the delivering of facts and statistics associated with the rise in
interest of females to look and be physically fit. This will satisfy their needs of self-
actualisation and deliver information to the audience. We will inform by the
promotion of our ideology; Working hard to gain a healthy body leads to a healthy
mind, working out however must be done sensibly and we will inform our audience
of the risks obsession in exercise can cause.
4. As our Documentary follows the mission statement of a BBC3 production, in order to
make our marketing campaign cohesive, the radio station we feature our radio advert
on has to be a BBC station. After going over our questionnaire results again we have
found that Radio 1 was one of the most listened to stations by our target audience. As
well as this we researched the mission statement of a BBC radio production and
found that we wish to follow similar values. The target audience of our production is
similar to that of BBC radio 1's therefore it is ideal to use this station, as we have the
best chances of targeting our primary audience.
