Unit 2: Annotated Bibliography and Proposal
Your library week assignment asked you to find a significant number of sources in relation
to your research topic. This assignment asks you to narrow down those sources and
explain how they help you investigate your topic while also proposing a research question
for your upcoming Unit 3 argumentative essay.
This assignment will be one document: your proposal followed by your annotated
bibliography. You will be narrowing your list of sources down from 10 to 8, but you should
keep at least one opposing view point.
In order to earn a B on this assignment, you must meet all of the following requirements:
1. You must include a proposal for your Unit 3 argumentative essay that discusses the
following (does not have to be in this order):
a. Your topic.
b. Your research question.
c. It’s importance (what is the impact it has on people? à social justice).
d. How you are planning on answering the question.
2. Your proposal should be at least 400 words.
3. For each annotated bibliography entry (8) discuss the following in a well-written
paragraph (note: you should have multiple sentences per point):
a. Briefly summarize your source.
b. Rhetorically evaluate your source.
c. State how you will use it to help you answer your question.
4. Compile your proposal and annotated bibliography in a single document (in that
order).
5. Meet all MLA criteria for format.
6. Upload to BBLearn by Sunday, June 30th at 11:59 PM.
