2. Distributed Operating System
A distributed operating system is a software over a collection of independent computer, interconnected
via networked, capable of collaborating on a task.
Eg.,Telephone N/W, Celluar N/W, Internet, ATM Machines etc.,
DS is loosely coupled- No share Memory
Client / server technology. Client-can send request to perform an action. Server send back result to Client.
Advantages
Resources Sharing
Computation Speed up
Reliability
Communication- Email.
3. cloud computing
• Refers to manipulating, configuring and accessing the application through online.
• It offers online data storage, infrastructure and applications.
• Enabling convenient, on demand network access to a shared pool of configurable and reliable
computing resources
• (e.g network,servers,storages,applications,services)
• Provides access the applications over the internet.
• Allows to create, configure, customise the applications
through online
4. Grid Computing
• Grid computing is a collection of computer resources from multiple locations to reach common
goal.
• The grid can be thought as distributed system with non interactive workload that involve large
number of files.
• Computational grid is a H/W And S/W infrastructure that divides dependable, consistent and
inexpensive access to end computational capabilities.(PC,WS, Server, Storage elements)
• Collection of computer s/w is called middle ware
5. Peer-Peer Model
• Unlike Client-Server ,P2P model does not distinguish between
Client/Server.
• Each node either be a client or server depending on whether the
node is requesting od providing the service.
• Each node is considered as a Peer.
• Pattern of communication between
them depends entirely on application
requirements.
11. Iaas, PaaS, Saas Providers
• IaaS:
• This model put together infrastructures demanded by Users.
• Namely Servers, Storage, Networks, Datacenter fabric.
• PaaS:
• This enables the users to deploy user built applications on to virtualized
cloud Platform.
• Includes Middle ware, databases, development tools.
• SaaS:
• Refers to browser initiated application software over thousands of paid cloud
customer.
• Applies Business Model,CRM,ERP,HR applications
