Risk Management Requires Thorough Analysis Essay
Risk Management
Successful risk management requires thorough analysis, rating, ranking, and mitigation documentation. To do proper risk rating and ranking, a rating
matrix needs to be defined. The rating matrix used by Project Pluto is included below.
Risk Determination
Documented risks are rated by likelihood of occurrence and impact to the project. The factors below define the overall risk ranking.
Table A documents the criteria used in determining overall risk ratings.
Table A: Risk Rating Matrix
Risk LikelihoodRisk Impact Low

Risk Scale: Low (1 to 10); Moderate (>10 to 50); High (>50 to 100) (Hohner, 2012, 11–13)
Risk Mitigation Strategies
For all the risks identified, one of the following five risk mitigation strategies will be used. The strategy used depends on the overall risk rating and the
risk management decision made by the project team.
Risk Avoidance
Risk avoidance is concerned with changing the situation to reduce the probability of a potential problem to an acceptable level. (Fairley 382–388)
Risk Transfer
Risk transfer involves reallocating the requirements that created the risk factor to another system component or another organizational unit that can
better handle the risk factor. (Fairley

Seg-El Origin
The Lost Origins Of The House Of El
"El mayarah. It means, stronger together." – Kara Zor–El on the meaning the 'S' glyph (in Supergirl)
Superman. One of the world's most famous DC superheroes. Born on the planet Krypton to parents Lara Lor–Van and Jor–El, Superman was born as
Kal–El. While people are familiar with how he became Superman, what fans might not know, is the House of El's past.
In the upcoming television series, Krypton, we learn the origins of the House of El, which take place 200 years before Kal–El (Henry Cavill)'s birth.
The series is part of the DC cinematic universe which includes Man of Steel, which introduced Superman and brought the DC cinematic universe into
existence. The series tells the story of Seg–El (Seyg–El ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When we first meet Seg–El, he's living in squalor. Now, you might be thinking, 'Why would the House of El be living in squalor?'.
Seg–El has nothing to do with the House of El's fall from grace. However, when we meet him, he has grown up in a society where his once highly
regarded family now sits at the bottom of what Krypton calls a social ladder. The society in which Seg dwells is strict and the House of El is pretty
much left to rot at the bottom. Despite his high intelligence and resourceful nature, he is rash and angry because of the how he is raised. This is the
polar opposite of how his future grandson is raised by the Kents.
As the audience sees Seg develop, we see what he [Seg] sees; the House of El is flawed and is very human–like and that he himself feels lost and has
to learn to embrace a legacy that he will one day assist in forming. Though, Seg will hit a roadblock; someone from the future wants to ensure
Superman isn't born and travels back 200 years to his time to ensure Kal is never conceived.
In the comics, Seyg–El is seen as gruff or overly grumpy, which can be taken into context in Krypton where Seg isn't as calm and gentle as

Nuclear Fission Lab Report
NUCLEAR FISSION
INTRODUCTION
Otto Hahn and Fritz Strassman, two German chemists discovered the process of nuclear fission on 17th December, 1938. However, it was theoretically
explained later by two Austrian–British physicists, Lise Meitner and Otto Robert Frisch in the 1939. Nuclear fission is the process by which a heavy
nucleus disintegrates or decays into two lighter nuclei of slightly similar weights when they absorb slow moving neutrons known as thermal neutrons.
The nuclei undergoing disintegration is known as the parent nuclei and the nuclei's formed after the decay are known as the daughter nuclei. Along
with the daughter nuclei very large amount of energy is also released and some gamma photons are also released. The ... Show more content on

In this explanation they assumed the nucleus of a heavy atom to be comparable to a spherical drop of liquid. The spherical shape of the liquid drop
is maintained due to surface tension of water and also due columbic force of attraction. When a neutron is absorbed by the nuclei its energy is
increased due to increased oscillations, due to which there is change in the spherical shape of the water droplet to ellipsoidal. if further there is
increase in the oscillating energy, the columbic force of attraction between the nucleons decreases so the shape becomes more irregular and becomes
dumb–bell. The surface tension of water tends to make the water droplet to obtain its original shape which, finally, takes place by breaking the water
droplet into two smaller water droplets of almost comparable sizes. Similarly, the nuclear fission process can be explained. The following diagram
below shows various steps in the liquid drop

Comparing Krypton, Arsenic, And Potassium
The three elements that I will be looking at are Krypton, Arsenic, and Potassium. These elements are all very different but share some similarities
even with their separate placement on the periodic table. I chose these elements because they are the most different of the six elements that I chose
to do this project on. Arsenic is the first element we will be looking at. Arsenic is a metalloid because it shares some characteristics with metals and
some with nonmetals. Arsenic, like Calcium, is a grey, slight shine. They are both solids at room temperature. They also both can conduct electricity
in at least one of their forms. One of the differences between these elements is that arsenic is poisonous and dangerous to your health even in
relatively small doses. Calcium is not dangerous to your health and is actually needed for survival. Krypton and Arsenic are much less similar even
though they are closer in the number of valence electrons. One major difference is that arsenic is a solid at room temperature, unlike Krypton. Arsenic
also does not look like Krypton. Arsenic is more chemically reactive than Krypton as well. And lastly Krypton is non–toxic unlike arsenic.... Show more

Calcium is an Alkaline Earth Metal and is a chemically reactive shiny grey substance. Calcium is soft and can be cut with a knife. Calcium is very
important for life on Earth unlike Arsenic and Krypton, which are not incredibly useful in any way. Calcium has very violent reactions with water
unlike Arsenic and Krypton. Calcium has been known to man for a very long time, but not in its pure form, like Arsenic. It is a solid at room
temperature like Arsenic and most metals. Calcium is also the most abundant in our solar system of any of these elements. Calcium is also the only one
of these three elements used in building large structures such as buildings or

Kryptonite In Popular Culture
Kryptonite is a material from the Superman mythos, specifically the ore form of a radioactive element from Superman's home planet of Krypton. First
mentioned in The Adventures of Superman radio show in June 1943, the material has been featured in a variety of forms and colors (each with its own
effect) in DC Comics publications and other media, including feature films, television series, and novelty items such as toys and trading card sets.
The established premise is that Superman and other Kryptonian characters are susceptible to its radiation, which created usage of the term in popular
culture as a reference to an individual's perceived weakness, irrespective of its nature.[1] To commemorate the 70th anniversary of Superman, the

A pancake is a flat cake, often thin, and round, prepared from a starch–based batter that may also contain eggs, milk and butter and cooked on a hot
surface such as a griddle or frying pan, often with oil or butter. In Britain, pancakes are often unleavened, and resemble a crГЄpe. In North America, a
raising agent is used (typically baking powder). The North American pancake is similar to a Scotch pancake or drop scone. Commercially–prepared
pancake mixes are produced in some countries.
They may be served at any time with a variety of toppings or fillings including jam, fruit, syrup, chocolate chips, or meat. In America, they are
typically considered to be a breakfast food. In Britain and the Commonwealth, they are associated with Shrove Tuesday, commonly known as Pancake

Compare And Contrast Avengers Vs Dc.
Over the years in the world of comics there has been a major rivalry between Marvel Studios and DC. Both studios have put out amazing content
and are the top in Superhero creation. However, there's always the question of which one is better. There are two teams, Marvel's Avengers and
DC's Justice League. Each team has multiple members, and it's always been a debate on which team would come out victorious. In a battle
between the Avengers and the Justice League who would win based on the heroes' individual skills? In order to find out how a battle between the
two groups would happen we split the two teams into six different pairs. Each hero was pit against someone who would have a similar skill set or
power level as them. After the sets were created, we then began to find out each character's individual skills. Assessing the strengths and weaknesses
of each hero against the other created a modest guess on who would win the battle. This is based solely on the skills of each character and does not
factor in battle areas or if the teams were to fight against each other together.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Krypton Research Paper
Krypton, the home planet of Superman and the radioactive material, kryptonite... Wait. Wrong krypton. The krypton we are talking about is the kind
you find on the periodic table, and even in many lighting products, such as gas lasers. Although it is not a planet and can not quite stop the powers of
Superman, the element krypton has some pretty super qualities of its own.
History
Krypton was founded by the Scottish and English chemists, Sir William Ramsay and Morris William Travers on May 30, 1898 ("The Element
Krypton," n.d.). Their goal was to find noble gas elements in the last unknown 0.05% of air by liquefying and evaporating air (Newton, 2010). Ramsay
and Travers were able to liquefy it by cooling the elements, primarily oxygen, nitrogen and argon, in air to the point that they changed into a liquid state
(around –320.42В°F) (Newton, 2010). However, the air warmed and cause the evaporation of the three main elements, resulting in the discovery of not
only krypton, but additionally xenon and neon (Newton, 2010).
Physical Description Krypton, atomic symbol of Kr, received its name from the Greek word kryptos, meaning hidden (Newton, 2010). This name is
quite fitting seeing as the element is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas ("Krypton," 2007) at room temperature ("The Element ... Show more content

for every one krypton atom ("Krypton Element Facts," n.d.). Krypton is formed in the Earth's crust when radioactive elements, such as uranium, are
broken down, and it is then harvested by liquefying and evaporating air, the same technique in which it had been discovered (Newton,

Noble Gases Research Paper
Noble Gas is located in far right column of periodic table and is known for having full valence electron shell. Helium, Neon, Argon, Krypton,
Xenon, and Radon are known Noble gases in the periodic table. All of those elements are odorless, colorless in standard condition. Ununoctium is
the only synthetic element of Noble Gases. The name Noble Gas came from the translation from German noun Edelgas which implied that it is
chemically very inert. Because Noble Gas elements have 8 valence electron and stable without any formation of compound, its first ionization
energy is highest out of all the groups in periodic table. Noble Gases are used in many occasions in the real life. For example Neon signs are used
in many electric signs. However despite many usages of Noble Gas in real life, it has strongest first ionization energy because it has full S and P
valence electron shell which makes it hard to break the bond in order to make a chemical compound. Because of such characteristics it was believed
that Noble gases cannot form compound. However in 1933, American chemist Linus Pauling theorized that heavier Noble gas elements such as Xenon
and Krypton can form compound... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Clathrates (also known as cage compounds) are compounds of noble gases in which they are trapped within cavities of crystal lattices of certain
organic and inorganic substances. The condition for Noble gas to form compound should be of appropriate size to fit in the cavities of the host
crystal lattice. In case of He and Ne cannot form a compound because it is too small to fit inside the cavity of crystal lattice. However massive
amount of energy was needed to form Clathrates compound. For example, Helium nitrogen chrystal needed 10 GPa (Giga Pascal) (98692.3266716

which neon comes into play. Imagine walking around in Las Vegas with your friends looking to have a good time before your business meeting the
next day. You look up and see giant signs that flash and move around advertising casinos and restaurants. Those signs aredischarge tubes holding the
active ingredients of our friend neon and his buddy mercury. You decide to walk into the casino with the biggest, coolest sign that says

hours and decide to cash in and go out to eat with all the money you won. You walk into a sports bar to get a drink and you notice a TV with the
Lakers game on. You look up at the TV and notice they are losing 84 to 36. The television has atube in it that holds neon to project things onto the
glass screen you see, without neon you wouldn't be able to watch any of your favorite shows. When you are finished eating your friends ask if you

The Periodic Table : Potassium, Sulfur, And Krypton
The Periodic Table contains 118 elements, all different with shape, size, and what it's made up of. Out of the 118, 3 were chosen and they will be
discussed later in this paper. Those elements are Potassium, Sulfur, and Krypton.
The first is Potassium. Potassium was first discovered and isolated by Sir Humphrey Davy, a Cornish chemist and inventor, in 1807.Potassium is highly
reactive, but Davy isolated the element through a process what's called electrolysis, a process by which an electric current is passed through the
element to cause chemical change within the element. Potassium could be extracted through minerals such as carnalite, langbeinite, and polyhalite
minerals. Potassium is also found in the Earth's crust, and makes up around 1.5 to 2% of the Earth's crust. Potassium also can't be found in nature as
a free element. Potassium is atomic number 19 in the periodic table and is symbolized as the letter "K" in the periodic table. The element is in Group
1, Period 4 on the periodic table. The element is an alkali metal and has somewhat of silver color to the element. The structure of the element has a
cubic shape at room temperature and has a density of 0.862 g/cm
Elnaka 2 cubed. The melting and boiling point of the element are 63.65 В°C (146.57 В°F) for melting and 759.0 В°C (1398В°F) for boiling. The

Krypton) or elements that form volatile hydrides, such as NH3(Ammonia), CH4(Methane), and H2O(Water). Because of Earth's gravity not being
strong enough to hold such light substances in the atmosphere, these elements have been slowly dispersing into outer space ever since Earth was

Who's More Powerful Superman Or Batman?
Who is more powerful, Superman or Batman? This has been a topic that has been pondered upon throughout the years of DC history. Well, I can surely
tell you that Superman is more powerful than Batman. There are many reasons as to why Superman is more powerful than Batman. He has x– ray

"the ability can only be used in the presence of a yellow star." This tells us that he can use his x–ray vision when the sun is near.
Another one of Superman's powers is super speed. Superman Wiki states that he is known to move "Faster than a speeding bullet". This is faster that
the average human eye can see. It also says, "All Kryptonians possess super–speed under a yellow sun including Clark Kent." This tells us that his

values installed in him by his foster parents. Superman is an idealist, devoted to promoting "truth, justice, and the American way," and has proven time
and time again that he is a true hero, capable of whatever bravery and self–sacrifice is necessary to right a wrong and to save a life. Achilles, the great
warrior of Iliad is known for his courage and ruthlessness on the battlefield. He is the main mythological God in the Trojan War, fighting off multiple
Trojans as well as many other enemies. Though he may seem like the perfect hero in wars and battle, Achilles' brash personality

Return To Krypton Story
I used to have a wondrous father fantasy. He is tall and strong and has good–looking features that he would pass on me according to the genetics laws.
He can fix all the fixable furniture at home just as he can fix any seemingly unfixable problems at work. He tells jokes with kind laughs. He would
someday come back with an utterly logical explanation for his absence for a decade, "I was forced to return to Krypton, dear daughter. Our beloved
Earth was in danger and Krypton had what it needed for me to get a PhD and learn the knowledge to save the world. The process held me off for 6
years. Took me several more years to travel across the universe, but here I am now, at home, with you."
Hence, since the dawn of my perceptual abilities, I have encountered father's disappearance with reasonable comfort, spent most of my childhood living
with grandparents and soon adapted quickly with the elders' style of living, that is, moving calmly and slowly. At the time, my house located near a...

The fact that I can see him now and then in recent years after his return makes it's hard for my fantasy to stand. My father doesn't have Krypton as his
old homeland. Nor do I ever see him telling jokes with kind laughs, though indeed some of my good–looking features resemble that of his. Nor do I
have the chance to observe him fixing things, though indeed he told me the reason of his departure is for his PhD and for the sake of many lives
including my family. Regardless of what he said, he has permanently gone, from our house, along with his gadgets, right after his return, when I was
in grade 3. Thus his return is not a return after all, as 'returning' means stay, not leave. Each night of that time, lying on the bed thinking about my
father's return that is not a return, I deeply realized how life could be so ever–changing and nonchalant, and how fragile human bondings could be

Krypton: The "Super Element"
When you first hear the word "Krypton", you may think of the fictional planet that
America's superhero Superman once called home. However, krypton is also the name of a chemical element here on our own planet Earth. Though it is
a rare, unreactive noble gas, krypton does play a significant role in today's world in ways that are unfamiliar to most
("Krypton"). Krypton is abbreviated by the chemical symbol Kr and is tasteless, colorless, and odorless ("Krypton"). It is located in group 18 and
period 4 on the periodic table (Meadows). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite this, they continued to analyze the light spectrum of their sample in hopes of discovering something newНѕ this decision to proceed is what
led to the discovery of krypton (Stewart). After removing oxygen and nitrogen from the gas with the use of copper and magnesium, the chemists
examined the gas's spectrum within a highВvoltage vacuum tube (Stewart). Besides the anticipated presence of argon, two new spectral lines, green and
orange in color, were also observedНѕ these lines represented a new element, later named krypton after being removed from its 'hiding place" within
liquid air (Weast and Astle
BВ22Нѕ Stewart). Following the discovery of the inert gases such as krypton, Ramsay was given the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 1904 (Stewart).
Along with its discovery, krypton was used and documented in other points in history.
During the Cold War (1947В91), radioactive krypton was used to approximate the nuclear production of the Soviet Union ("Krypton"). KryptonВ85,
one of its radioactive isotopes, is produced by all nuclear reactors, so one was able to calculate the amount of krypton being emitted by the USSR by
subtracting the amount that came from the reactors in the U.S. and
Europe from the total amount of krypton in the air ("Krypton"). Also an important point in history was the defining of the fundamental unit of length
known as the meter. In 1960 an international committee decided

Lab Analysis : Acoustic Mismatch
1. * Ultrasound techniques are used to detect structure inside the body. A gel is used when a 1MHz transducer is placed on the skin to avoid acoustic
mismatch at the skin–transducer interface. (a) Define acoustic mismatch (in this particular case).Acoustic mismatch, by definition, is the discrepancy
between the acoustic impedances of two or more mediums (MacLennan, 2006). This occurs when a propagated soundwave, passing through one
medium, travels into another medium of unequal impedance. In the context of ultrasounds, the soundwaves emitted by the transducer are affected by
changes in acoustic impedance, this is acoustic mismatch. Much like any other forms of mechanical waves, a reflection of these waves occurs at
interfaces and boundaries between mediums (most likely skin/muscle or organ/fluid in this case). In cases of high acoustic mismatch, reflections are
so severe that a readable ultrasound is improbable. (b) Describe what would happen if air was between the transducer and the skin. Acoustic
impedance is the resistance a substance's molecules have to a change in their state of mechanical vibration. A material with a high acoustic impedance,
such as bone, will be much more resistant to a change in vibration than a material with a low acoustic impedance, such as air or water. Air, having an
acoustic impedance much lower than an (c) If the density of skin was 1010 kg/m3 and the velocity of sound through the skin was 1540 m/s, calculate

Essay on Superman vs. Christ
"Faster than a speeding bullet, stronger than a locomotive, jumps tall buildings in a single bound." Superman is known throughout the world for being
the savior of a city called Metropolis. In every comic book, movie, or action figure ever presented to the public, Superman is a handsome, strong man
who can defeat all odds at all times. The movie Superman was a success, showing how the superhero saved lives and yet lived a humble life. As one
watches the movie, though, he might notice the many similarities between the plot of the movie and the story of Christ's coming. Superman, savior of
the city Metropolis, mirrors the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ.
Throughout the movie Superman, the names and the actions of the characters were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the beginning of the movie, it shows three people standing on trial and a vote that was to be decided by Jor–el. Zod, who was one of two men on
trial, told Jor–el to let him go and that he would let Jor–el have reign over the new world, which is also said when the devil is speaking to God and
trying to keep himself out of what was to become Hell. One of the strongest points in the movie that showed itself to be on the same path as Christ's
coming was when Jor–el said "the father in the son, and the son in the father," before he was to send Kah–lel off into the universe towards Earth.
Another moment was when Kah–lel throws the crystal and his father appears to tell his son that he is pleased with him and that he should now start
his ministry after roaming the wilderness for the past twelve years. Not only does this scene in the movie agree with the Bible's story of Christ's
twelve lost years, but it also is similar to when Christ was baptized by John. When Christ's baptism took place in the river Jordan, a voice from
Heaven came down upon the crowd and said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased." From the beginning to end of the movie,
there are times in which Superman looked to be modeled after the story of Christ's coming.
While the names and the actions matched up for both stories, there were also cases where an object's appearance alone made the viewer

Personal Narrative: My Journey To Krypton
To make my journey to Krypton, I would have to go by transportation. Traveling by ship will take longer and it only has a 70% survival rate.
However, traveling by transportation will save more time and allow you to live life more fully. Also, it isn't guaranteed that you will make it to
Krypton. People may argue that by killing all of your molecules, you are essentially killing yourself. I do not think that the body makes you who
you are, but rather the personality and memories a person has. Experiences make a person who they are, not the body that they are in. If you take a
bottle of wine and poor the wine into a new bottle, the wine is still the same. The same goes for the body. Technically there is a new body, but the
person inside of them has the same memories and personality. With having the same memories, it is as if they went through the same experiences that
go into shaping a person. Due to these reasons, I believe I'd be the same person and have the best chance of survival.... Show more content on

Taking away my memory and personality takes away who I am. I would not by me anymore. Even though my silicon shell would survive, I would

survival was take the drug, I would have to argue that if you have identical twins and you switch their brains that contain their memories, beliefs,
and desires, then their brain will dictate who they are, not their bodies. They would look the same as they did before the switch, but they wouldn't
be themselves. Who they are depends on which body holds the memories and beliefs. The same goes for the drug. By taking about the memories,
beliefs, and desires of a person and replacing them with new ones, you would cease to exist. The desert is a dangerous voyage, but in order for me to

time of exploration of art and science, and expansion, the Kryptonians spread out through the ocean of stars, seeking new worlds to settle upon,
colonizing. The race of aliens created spacecrafts which had organic structures, similar to the landscape of Krypton. The spacecraft would be one of the
great machines that would reshape environments, or "terraform," changing the atmospheres to suitable standards to support Kryptonian life. What
changed was that Krypton had suffered from over–population and artificial population was established. Artificial population was able to be done
because of the Kryptonians' discovering that they could tamper with their own DNA, changing it, and creating new forms of life, but which would
retain the physiology of their own, even through the tampering. The outposts and space exploration were abandoned, and the Kryptonians had
exhausted their natural resources. As a result, to find a source of power, Kryptonians scientists began harvesting the core of the planet, which made
Krypton's core unstable. Over time, Krypton became unable to support artificial population and began resorting back to natural birth, but the
population was lowered and steadied. This would only save Krypton for a few more centuries before its

Nubain Aquifer: Questions
ummary and reasoning behind questions In this article Nubian Aquifer is talked about, along with the experiments that were conducted using
uncommon isotopes in attempts to uncover the mysteries that have long since surrounded the passage of water. Nubain Aquifer is essentially an
ancient water supply that traverses underground in the Sahara Desert and stretches all the way to North Eastern Africa. Although the Nubain Aquifer
happens to be one of the oldest water supplies in the world, it still manages to replenish itself rapidly to this day and continues to function properly.
Over the years questions have arisen about the Nubain Aquifer primarily because the passage of water persists to flourish even after having been
around for such a long time. Experiments Physicists conduct experiments in relation to the Nubain Aquifer by using a rare radioactive isotope called
Krypton 81. The radioactive isotope is used in attempts to reveal the inner workings of the old water supply. The isotope was utilized in a number of
different ways. "Their first success was in distilling these elusive isotopes, krypton 81,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the previously used isotope gave incorrect results when I came to the Aquifer. Up until recently Krypton 81 was deemed unusable
because it was too difficult to obtain. It's only as of late that physicists have become successful in becoming able to slow down atoms. It took over a
decade for the physicists involved to be able accomplish such a feat. The slowing of atoms was made possible by using "the same laser–based
techniques that were pioneered by the current energy secretary, Steven Chu, in the 1980s...." This was done by using "lasers to pinpoint the frequency
at which atoms oscillate. When Krypton 81 atoms go through a laser attuned to them, they glow brightly and slow down, giving scientists an easier

the plum pudding model that showed negatively charged electrons scattered throughout a positively charged sphere. Robert Bunsen was the first

a different mix of wavelengths that can be used as a identifier, just like fingerprints. He showed that every element is unique. William Ramsay helped

Mendeleev Lab
Dimitri Mendeleev was considered the first chemist to discover that patterns would become apparent when elements were classified to their
properties. Mendeleev's adjustment of elements was the one and only due to his idea of leaving blank spaces for elements he believed were
undiscovered in 1869. The purpose of the Mendeleev Lab of 1869 is to use knowledge of the periodic table in order to identify the undiscovered
elements. Ultimately the whole idea is to observe, and draw conclusions to identify the elements. For instance, observing properties, samples, and
trends will help us learn more about the periodic table also, learn more about the hidden elements of Mendeleev's Lab. The essential way to assign
an element to its unknown lab is by density, physical state and color. For example the unknown #1 was identified as silicon it's physical state was
solid, the density is 2.33 with a gray pigmentation therefore silicon belongs to the carbon family Group 14, because silicon and elements of the
carbon family have similar behaviors. Another unidentified element was #4, it's physical state is gas, with a density of 0.00374 and is colorless was
distinguished as krypton which belongs in group 18 as a noble gas. Krypton is known as a noble gas because scientists have found traces of the gas in
the atmosphere.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

row if the elements were equivalent. Due to his organization of the elements it was impossible for the unknown elements to be placed in a wrong
location "Mendeleev was the first to predict the existence of undiscovered elements...most chemists accepted his periodic table of

What Is Krypton?
What is the first think you think that comes to mind when you think of Krypton? For many, they think of the home planet where superman came
from. What many do not know is, that it is the last element in the fourth period, and one of the rare noble gases to find on Earth. Noble gases are
found in group 18, these gases are known as chemical elements of the periodic table. The group includes Krypton, Helium, Neon, Argon, Xenon, and
Radon. These elements do not react with any other elements because they are already stable. They are stable due to having to the most number of

comes from the Greek word krytos which means hidden. The atomic symbol for the element in the periodic table is Kr. The atomic number is 36,
which means the number of protons or electrons in the nucleus. The average weight is 8.738 in atomic weight units. The number of Neutrons it

Analysis Of General Zod's Villain From Superman II
Kilin' Villain In Mexico, and similar countries, crimes are extreme and rampant, such as drug and human trafficking and frequent murders. The
government has little control of its citizens and those who commit crimes, leading it to be an uncivilized and undeveloped society. A civilized society
is well organized and has laws in place that sort of help construct this backbone of society. It gives society an outline of how they should behave and
act towards others. A civilized person tends to adhere to a moral or religious code that does not harm others; they obey community laws, respect others
and their property, and aid those in need. This structure is necessary for the continuation of society to interact with others in a peaceful manner. Without
this structure, there is an opportunity for those who do not uphold this moral code, respect for others, and obedience of the community laws to set off

Krypton, (symbol being Kr), is a very interesting element. It was discovered May 30, 1898 by Sir William Ramsay and Morris M. Travers, who
were Scottish and English chemists. Krypton was named from the Greek word 'kryptos', which means hidden. It was found when the chemists were
studying liquefied air. It is about 0.0001% of the earth atmosphere. It can also be found in some photographic flashes, some fluorescent light bulbs, and
can be combined with other gases to make signs with a greenish–yellow glow.
Every element is special because none are ever the same. Even an atoms isotope is different. Krypton's atomic number is 36. Its atomic mass is 83.798

and Krypton Chromate depending on number of carbon and oxygen atoms), and just oxygen, (Krypton Dioxide). Krypton is purified by passing it over
hot titanium metal. A balanced equation showing the purification of krypton is shown below:

Risk Analysis & Mitigation Strategies

  • 1. Risk Management Requires Thorough Analysis Essay Risk Management Successful risk management requires thorough analysis, rating, ranking, and mitigation documentation. To do proper risk rating and ranking, a rating matrix needs to be defined. The rating matrix used by Project Pluto is included below. Risk Determination Documented risks are rated by likelihood of occurrence and impact to the project. The factors below define the overall risk ranking. Table A documents the criteria used in determining overall risk ratings. Table A: Risk Rating Matrix Risk LikelihoodRisk Impact Low (10)Moderate (50)High (100) High (1.0)Low 10 x 1.0 = 10Moderate 50 x 1.0 = 50High 100 x 1.0 = 100 Moderate (0.5)Low 10 x 0.5 = 5Moderate 50 x 0.5 = 25Moderate 100 x 0.5 = 50 Low (0.1)Low 10 x 0.1 = 1Low 50 x 0.1 = 5Low 100 x 0.1 = 10 Risk Scale: Low (1 to 10); Moderate (>10 to 50); High (>50 to 100) (Hohner, 2012, 11–13) Risk Mitigation Strategies For all the risks identified, one of the following five risk mitigation strategies will be used. The strategy used depends on the overall risk rating and the risk management decision made by the project team. Risk Avoidance Risk avoidance is concerned with changing the situation to reduce the probability of a potential problem to an acceptable level. (Fairley 382–388) Risk Transfer Risk transfer involves reallocating the requirements that created the risk factor to another system component or another organizational unit that can better handle the risk factor. • 3. Seg-El Origin The Lost Origins Of The House Of El "El mayarah. It means, stronger together." – Kara Zor–El on the meaning the 'S' glyph (in Supergirl) Superman. One of the world's most famous DC superheroes. Born on the planet Krypton to parents Lara Lor–Van and Jor–El, Superman was born as Kal–El. While people are familiar with how he became Superman, what fans might not know, is the House of El's past. In the upcoming television series, Krypton, we learn the origins of the House of El, which take place 200 years before Kal–El (Henry Cavill)'s birth. The series is part of the DC cinematic universe which includes Man of Steel, which introduced Superman and brought the DC cinematic universe into existence. However, when we meet him, he has grown up in a society where his once highly regarded family now sits at the bottom of what Krypton calls a social ladder. The society in which Seg dwells is strict and the House of El is pretty much left to rot at the bottom. Despite his high intelligence and resourceful nature, he is rash and angry because of the how he is raised. This is the polar opposite of how his future grandson is raised by the Kents. As the audience sees Seg develop, we see what he [Seg] sees; the House of El is flawed and is very human–like and that he himself feels lost and has to learn to embrace a legacy that he will one day assist in forming. Though, Seg will hit a roadblock; someone from the future wants to ensure Superman isn't born and travels back 200 years to his time to ensure Kal is never conceived. In the comics, Seyg–El is seen as gruff or overly grumpy, which can be taken into context in Krypton where Seg isn't as calm and gentle as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Nuclear Fission Lab Report NUCLEAR FISSION INTRODUCTION Otto Hahn and Fritz Strassman, two German chemists discovered the process of nuclear fission on 17th December, 1938. However, it was theoretically explained later by two Austrian–British physicists, Lise Meitner and Otto Robert Frisch in the 1939. Nuclear fission is the process by which a heavy nucleus disintegrates or decays into two lighter nuclei of slightly similar weights when they absorb slow moving neutrons known as thermal neutrons. The nuclei undergoing disintegration is known as the parent nuclei and the nuclei's formed after the decay are known as the daughter nuclei. Along with the daughter nuclei very large amount of energy is also released and some gamma photons are also released. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this explanation they assumed the nucleus of a heavy atom to be comparable to a spherical drop of liquid. The spherical shape of the liquid drop is maintained due to surface tension of water and also due columbic force of attraction. When a neutron is absorbed by the nuclei its energy is increased due to increased oscillations, due to which there is change in the spherical shape of the water droplet to ellipsoidal. if further there is increase in the oscillating energy, the columbic force of attraction between the nucleons decreases so the shape becomes more irregular and becomes dumb–bell. The surface tension of water tends to make the water droplet to obtain its original shape which, finally, takes place by breaking the water droplet into two smaller water droplets of almost comparable sizes. Similarly, the nuclear fission process can be explained. The following diagram below shows various steps in the liquid drop ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Comparing Krypton, Arsenic, And Potassium The three elements that I will be looking at are Krypton, Arsenic, and Potassium. These elements are all very different but share some similarities even with their separate placement on the periodic table. I chose these elements because they are the most different of the six elements that I chose to do this project on. Arsenic is the first element we will be looking at. Arsenic is a metalloid because it shares some characteristics with metals and some with nonmetals. Arsenic, like Calcium, is a grey, slight shine. They are both solids at room temperature. They also both can conduct electricity in at least one of their forms. One of the differences between these elements is that arsenic is poisonous and dangerous to your health even in relatively small doses. Calcium is not dangerous to your health and is actually needed for survival. Krypton and Arsenic are much less similar even though they are closer in the number of valence electrons. One major difference is that arsenic is a solid at room temperature, unlike Krypton. Arsenic also does not look like Krypton. Arsenic is more chemically reactive than Krypton as well. And lastly Krypton is non–toxic unlike arsenic.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Calcium is an Alkaline Earth Metal and is a chemically reactive shiny grey substance. Calcium is soft and can be cut with a knife. Calcium is very important for life on Earth unlike Arsenic and Krypton, which are not incredibly useful in any way. Calcium has very violent reactions with water unlike Arsenic and Krypton. Calcium has been known to man for a very long time, but not in its pure form, like Arsenic. It is a solid at room temperature like Arsenic and most metals. Calcium is also the most abundant in our solar system of any of these elements. Calcium is also the only one of these three elements used in building large structures such as buildings or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Kryptonite In Popular Culture Kryptonite is a material from the Superman mythos, specifically the ore form of a radioactive element from Superman's home planet of Krypton. First mentioned in The Adventures of Superman radio show in June 1943, the material has been featured in a variety of forms and colors (each with its own effect) in DC Comics publications and other media, including feature films, television series, and novelty items such as toys and trading card sets. The established premise is that Superman and other Kryptonian characters are susceptible to its radiation, which created usage of the term in popular culture as a reference to an individual's perceived weakness, irrespective of its nature.[1] To commemorate the 70th anniversary of Superman, the University ... A pancake is a flat cake, often thin, and round, prepared from a starch–based batter that may also contain eggs, milk and butter and cooked on a hot surface such as a griddle or frying pan, often with oil or butter. In Britain, pancakes are often unleavened, and resemble a crГЄpe. In North America, a raising agent is used (typically baking powder). The North American pancake is similar to a Scotch pancake or drop scone. Commercially–prepared pancake mixes are produced in some countries. They may be served at any time with a variety of toppings or fillings including jam, fruit, syrup, chocolate chips, or meat. In America, they are typically considered to be a breakfast food. • 7. Compare And Contrast Avengers Vs Dc. Over the years in the world of comics there has been a major rivalry between Marvel Studios and DC. Both studios have put out amazing content and are the top in Superhero creation. However, there's always the question of which one is better. There are two teams, Marvel's Avengers and DC's Justice League. Each team has multiple members, and it's always been a debate on which team would come out victorious. In a battle between the Avengers and the Justice League who would win based on the heroes' individual skills? In order to find out how a battle between the two groups would happen we split the two teams into six different pairs. Each hero was pit against someone who would have a similar skill set or power level as them. After the sets were created, we then began to find out each character's individual skills. Assessing the strengths and weaknesses of each hero against the other created a modest guess on who would win the battle. This is based solely on the skills of each character and does not factor in battle areas or if the teams were to fight against each other together.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 10. Krypton Research Paper Krypton, the home planet of Superman and the radioactive material, kryptonite... Wait. Wrong krypton. The krypton we are talking about is the kind you find on the periodic table, and even in many lighting products, such as gas lasers. Although it is not a planet and can not quite stop the powers of Superman, the element krypton has some pretty super qualities of its own. History Krypton was founded by the Scottish and English chemists, Sir William Ramsay and Morris William Travers on May 30, 1898 ("The Element Krypton," n.d.). Their goal was to find noble gas elements in the last unknown 0.05% of air by liquefying and evaporating air (Newton, 2010). Ramsay and Travers were able to liquefy it by cooling the elements, primarily oxygen, nitrogen and argon, in air to the point that they changed into a liquid state (around –320.42В°F) (Newton, 2010). However, the air warmed and cause the evaporation of the three main elements, resulting in the discovery of not only krypton, but additionally xenon and neon (Newton, 2010). Physical Description Krypton, atomic symbol of Kr, received its name from the Greek word kryptos, meaning hidden (Newton, 2010). This name is quite fitting seeing as the element is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas ("Krypton," 2007) at room temperature ("The Element ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 11. Noble Gases Research Paper Noble Gas is located in far right column of periodic table and is known for having full valence electron shell. Helium, Neon, Argon, Krypton, Xenon, and Radon are known Noble gases in the periodic table. All of those elements are odorless, colorless in standard condition. Ununoctium is the only synthetic element of Noble Gases. The name Noble Gas came from the translation from German noun Edelgas which implied that it is chemically very inert. Because Noble Gas elements have 8 valence electron and stable without any formation of compound, its first ionization energy is highest out of all the groups in periodic table. Noble Gases are used in many occasions in the real life. For example Neon signs are used in many electric signs. However despite many usages of Noble Gas in real life, it has strongest first ionization energy because it has full S and P valence electron shell which makes it hard to break the bond in order to make a chemical compound. Because of such characteristics it was believed that Noble gases cannot form compound. However in 1933, American chemist Linus Pauling theorized that heavier Noble gas elements such as Xenon and Krypton can form compound... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Out of the 118, 3 were chosen and they will be discussed later in this paper. Those elements are Potassium, Sulfur, and Krypton. The first is Potassium. Potassium was first discovered and isolated by Sir Humphrey Davy, a Cornish chemist and inventor, in 1807.Potassium is highly reactive, but Davy isolated the element through a process what's called electrolysis, a process by which an electric current is passed through the element to cause chemical change within the element. Potassium could be extracted through minerals such as carnalite, langbeinite, and polyhalite minerals. Potassium is also found in the Earth's crust, and makes up around 1.5 to 2% of the Earth's crust. Potassium also can't be found in nature as a free element. Potassium is atomic number 19 in the periodic table and is symbolized as the letter "K" in the periodic table. The element is in Group 1, Period 4 on the periodic table. The element is an alkali metal and has somewhat of silver color to the element. The structure of the element has a cubic shape at room temperature and has a density of 0.862 g/cm Elnaka 2 cubed. The melting and boiling point of the element are 63.65 В°C (146.57 В°F) for melting and 759.0 В°C (1398В°F) for boiling. The atomic mass of the element is 39.0983 amu (atomic mass unit). A gel is used when a 1MHz transducer is placed on the skin to avoid acoustic mismatch at the skin–transducer interface. (a) Define acoustic mismatch (in this particular case).Acoustic mismatch, by definition, is the discrepancy between the acoustic impedances of two or more mediums (MacLennan, 2006). This occurs when a propagated soundwave, passing through one medium, travels into another medium of unequal impedance. In the context of ultrasounds, the soundwaves emitted by the transducer are affected by changes in acoustic impedance, this is acoustic mismatch. Much like any other forms of mechanical waves, a reflection of these waves occurs at interfaces and boundaries between mediums (most likely skin/muscle or organ/fluid in this case). In cases of high acoustic mismatch, reflections are so severe that a readable ultrasound is improbable. (b) Describe what would happen if air was between the transducer and the skin. Acoustic impedance is the resistance a substance's molecules have to a change in their state of mechanical vibration. A material with a high acoustic impedance, such as bone, will be much more resistant to a change in vibration than a material with a low acoustic impedance, such as air or water. • 35. Kr Hydrate Lab Report The dissociation process of Kr hydrate at 260 K were further examined in detail. The radial distribution functions (RDFs) for O–O, O–H, Kr–O, Kr–Kr pairs simulated at five different time period (0–30 ps, 90–120 ps, 120–150 ps, 150–180 ps and 180–210 ps) at temperatures of 260 K and pressure of 1.05 MPa are compared in Fig. 3. The first O–O peak locates at 2.75 Г…, corresponding to the typical O–O distance between two neighboring water molecules interacting with a hydrogen bond. The second O–O peak (at 4.51 Г…) in Fig. 3a originates from the tetrahedral H–bonding network in the clathrate structures. In Fig. 3b, the first peak at 0.99 Г… for O–H pair simply arises from the O–H bond length of water molecules; and the second peak at 1.77 Г… measures... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 39. What Is Krypton? What is the first think you think that comes to mind when you think of Krypton? For many, they think of the home planet where superman came from. What many do not know is, that it is the last element in the fourth period, and one of the rare noble gases to find on Earth. Noble gases are found in group 18, these gases are known as chemical elements of the periodic table. The group includes Krypton, Helium, Neon, Argon, Xenon, and Radon. These elements do not react with any other elements because they are already stable. They are stable due to having to the most number of electrons in their outer shell can hold which is 8. The only noble gas that does not have 8 electrons in its outer shell is helium. The name Krypton comes from the Greek word krytos which means hidden. The atomic symbol for the element in the periodic table is Kr. The atomic number is 36, which means the number of protons or electrons in the nucleus. The average weight is 8.738 in atomic weight units. The number of Neutrons it contains is 48. The gas density is 3.749 g/liter at 0 C. • 40. Analysis Of General Zod's Villain From Superman II Kilin' Villain In Mexico, and similar countries, crimes are extreme and rampant, such as drug and human trafficking and frequent murders. The government has little control of its citizens and those who commit crimes, leading it to be an uncivilized and undeveloped society. A civilized society is well organized and has laws in place that sort of help construct this backbone of society. It gives society an outline of how they should behave and act towards others. A civilized person tends to adhere to a moral or religious code that does not harm others; they obey community laws, respect others and their property, and aid those in need. This structure is necessary for the continuation of society to interact with others in a peaceful manner. Without this structure, there is an opportunity for those who do not uphold this moral code, respect for others, and obedience of the community laws to set off on living without those qualities that make us civilized. • 41. Krypton Research Paper Krypton, (symbol being Kr), is a very interesting element. It was discovered May 30, 1898 by Sir William Ramsay and Morris M. Travers, who were Scottish and English chemists. Krypton was named from the Greek word 'kryptos', which means hidden. It was found when the chemists were studying liquefied air. It is about 0.0001% of the earth atmosphere. It can also be found in some photographic flashes, some fluorescent light bulbs, and can be combined with other gases to make signs with a greenish–yellow glow. Every element is special because none are ever the same. Even an atoms isotope is different. Krypton's atomic number is 36. Its atomic mass is 83.798 units. The number of protons in an element, which is also the atomic number, is 36. It also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is found in gas form and is pure. It can bond with Fluorine to form Krypton Difluoride and Krypton Tetrafluoride depending on the number of Fluorine atoms. It can also bond with chlorine (Krypton Tetrachloride), Bromine, (Krypton Hexabromine), carbon and oxygen, (Krypton Dichromate and Krypton Chromate depending on number of carbon and oxygen atoms), and just oxygen, (Krypton Dioxide). Krypton is purified by passing it over hot titanium metal. A balanced equation showing the purification of krypton is shown below: Krypton Tetrachloride to Krypton KrCl4 Kr + Cl4 All you have to do is separate Krypton from Fluoride and boom you got pure Krypton. As said before, Krypton is used in some types of photographic flashes, some fluorescent bulbs, and its mixtures are used in signs to give them a greenish–yellow glow. It was also once used in measurements and is used in lasers for lab use. Krypton is found in an extremely small amount of our earth's atmosphere. It is also used in a lot of lights. If this element was not available my life and everyone else's would be different. We would have no lights and God knows what will happen to our atmosphere. What if it's a crucial element for us?
