Visual intro to a Caldecott Award project with 2nd graders

1. We’ll be reading several Caldecott Medal winner books over the next few weeks. The Caldecott is awarded to the best illustrated book for children. Here are pictures of books that won the Caldecott Award. Look at each one. They are all award winners. As you view the images think about which books you will want to read. You will work with a partner to read the story. Your project will be to create at least one illustration of your own for your book. Caldecott Awards
