2. Where I started… When I started this task I thought that in some ways we live in a human zoo and that this task would be hard and pointless.
3. What the class did… My class split into groups of four or five and watched a DVD about some of the animals at Auckland zoo and we summarized the documentariesand did a P.M.I. chart about the animal that one of the documentaries was about. Room 1 went to the zoo twice. My class had a lot of discussions about how animals are similar or different to humans and other topics that related to task.
4. What I did… When I did my individual research I researched apes, bears, cats and dogs. After I had done some research on each of those animals I decided that apes are the most similar type of animal to humans because humans are a type of ape. I also found out that orangutans are about 97% like us which makes them the most similar animal to humans that I researched.
5. Where I am now… I now think that we don’t live in a human zoo. I know that apes are the most similar type of animal to humans and that orangutans are the most similar type of ape to humans. I have realized that my essential question is a matter of perspective.
6. Thank you for watching my presentation I hope you learnt as much as I did!
