This document summarizes an energy audit conducted at the Cresta Jameson Hotel in Harare, Zimbabwe. The audit found that the hotel's energy usage accounted for approximately 10% of operating costs. Through implementing various energy conservation measures (ECMs) like switching to LED lighting and occupancy sensors, installing efficient refrigeration and kitchen equipment, the audit estimated the hotel could reduce its energy consumption by over 50% and lower energy costs to 5% of operating expenses. The report provided cost-benefit analyses of the proposed ECMs and recommendations to establish an energy management team to continue improving efficiency.

A 3 star Hotel in the CBD of Harare.
Host to 123 Guest Rooms, 5 conference centers,
2 magnanimous Kitchens, 3 Restaurants and a
Banqueting Lounge.
Electricity charges are at an average $12
350/month.
Hotels are bracing for brisk business and
therefore will do anything to increase profit
and increase the quality of stay.

Research Design was quantitative. The
audit process was divided into 3 phases;
1. History Documents Review- to establish a
trend of energy consumption using
utility bills. Evaluation of the building
envelope.

the facility checking the energy practices
at the hotel. Then labeling according to
estimated energy consumed.
Measurement Audit- with the aid of
specific equipment as well as
observation power ratings where
recorded as specified by the

tests where conducted.
