2. Before this class, social media was something I used to waste time and communicate with friends.
This course changed it into something so much more: A Professional Learning Network.
3. “So What is a Professional Learning Network Anyway?”
“A PLN (Professional Learning Network) is
deliberately formed networks of people and
resources capable of guiding our independent
learning goals and professional development
needs”
4. When it came to goals, my main goal was to connect with professionals out in the teaching
field. So I began to follow...
6. And sure enough, things began to happen. Connections were being made.
7. 3 People I follow who were highly beneficial were Dave Burgess, 2learn.ca, and “mssspar”,
otherwise known in the pinterest world as The Classroom Sparrow.
8. Overall, developing my PLN was probably my favourite part of this
course. Although I somewhat jokingly labelled this slideshow with the
cliched phrase “The Gift that Keeps on Giving”, in all seriousness I do
believe that is what this resource will do for me. I am now connected
to an online world filled with endless resources from other
educational professionals all over the world. I look forward to
developing this further throughout the years, especially when I am
teaching in a classroom.
Thank you for watching my presentation.
Sincerely,
Katie Broadhead
