2. What is Project-Based Learning? Project-based learning is a type of instruction that uses hands-on learning to educate the students on specific content. Project-based learning is student centered more than teacher centered. Project- Based Learning can be beneficial for a variety of different students and helps to motivate students to participate in activities.
3. The purpose of this unit and final project are to help educate the students on how to be good members of a community. The students will also learn how to work well with others and collaborate on group work. This project/unit will allow students to work on an assignment that relates to the real world and will educate them on more than just basic facts and information. Benefits of this Unit
4. The title of the unit is “What is a Community?” Throughout this unit, project-based learning will be used to involve students with hands-on activities. The students will learn different aspects of a community and work towards the final project. The final project will consist of each student being assigned a role in the “community” (classroom). The final project will also consist of the community holding a mock election to delegate leaders. What is a Community?
