2. Filming
We used a Panasonic video camera in order to film shots for the intended teaser
trailer for the film Curse of the Damned. At some points within our trailer
displayed on the created storyboards, the camera is hand held, meaning that the
camera is not positioned on tripod. As this is a low budget British independent
slasher trailer, we do not have the luxury of having a large budget as we are sixth
form students. Therefore, we made use of natural lighting when shooting on
location in the woods, and indoor lighting for when we shot inside.
3. Outdoors
• When filming in an outdoors location, natural day light was
used as a source of lighting. This meant that shooting was done
during the day before the sun set, as we did not have the
lighting equipment necessary to illuminate the woods.
However, the video camera allowed us to adjust the lighting of
the shots, and therefore make the location appear darker than it
actually was. During the editing phase of the trailer we found
that some of the footage was too bright/dark unintentionally,
therefore the Adobe software was used to rectify this by
slightly altering the lighting and colouring.
• Whilst filming in an outdoors location we encountered various
problems such as noise pollution, onlookers, equipment load.
4. Indoors
• Whilst filming indoors in Rooks Heath College the
indoor lighting within the building was used in order to
shed light on the shoot.
