• A part of Pinpet Mining project.
• Began 7 of August 2006, operated in
2014
• Located Southern of Shan State,
Myanmar
• Area 728.31 acres
• Investors KBZ company, A1 construction,
Aung Myit Thu’s company and Power
Mine raw materials company
• Investment USD 60 million
The majority of the villagers near the
KBZ factory are members of the Pa-Oh
ethnic nationality several ethnic Shans
and Indians (Galraka)
At the base of cement factory, 1191
people and 219 house hold live in 4
villages.
Most villagers are depending on
agriculture and breeding animals.

9. Social Impact
Compensation of land grabbing
• Totally of plot 728.31 acres
• 1 million kyats per acres
• Only gave for 400 acre
• New laws on land and investment that
change the legal basis for land use
rights
• 2012 new law does not protect for
indigenous just benefit for investors
and companies
• When the mine explore, rocks is falling
to the farm land. The farm land cannot
grow anymore.

10. Rare of the pastureland
• Community are depend on
breed crowns and Buffalo
• Some part of land those are
not used, they just grow corns
and benefit for industry staffs

animal do not come to their
plantation.

11. Culture destruction
• Naung Kyo village cemetery and Spirit
house have been grabbed for the
industry boundary.
• There is no longer to be a space for
entombment challenge in the future.
• This means no respect or recognized
culture and religious identity of village
ritual.

12. No guarantee in jobs opportunity
Totally 350 staffs in the KBZ cement
factory. Two of third of factory worker are
daily.
Most of the local people doesn’t get it

life guarantee and fair compensation

activists demanded are-
• To drive the trucks slowly
• To reduce the noise from the factory
• To build the concrete road as fast as
they can.
• To stop producing fume.

livelihood are depending on those
mountain
