2. Face of the Earth
 The face of the earth’s surface seems to have existed just as they have been since the world
begun.
 Scientific study has been devoted to the thin crustal area on which ma lives, and most of the
earth’s surface features are well known.

3.  25% of the earth surface is consists of lands.
 75% is accounted for by water, which can be
can be broken down into
 70% oceans and seas
 5% in land water like lakes and rivers.

4. Valley
elongated depressions usually with an outlet between the range of hills.

5. Peninsula
A tract of land , large or small, nearly surrounded by water or atleast having water on three sides so
that the greatest part of the boundery is a coast line.

6. Deltas
Alluvial plains that streams have built at their mouths and in ponded water. They are flood plains.

7. Cape
A piece of land jutting into the seas; a headline or a promontory.

8. Canyon
A deep valley with high steep sides.

9. Cliff
A perpendicular or steep rock of considerable height.

10. Isthmus
A narrow land connection between two larger expanses of land.

11. Fjord
A U shaped valley that leads to the sea and that appears to be submerged in it’s lower position.

12. Desert
A dry, barren region, usually treeless and sandy.

13. Tundra
A treeless plain that is characteristic of Arctic and sub- Arctic regions, usually covered with ice or
snow.

14. Volcano
Opening in the earth’s surface giving out smoke, steam, ashes, or molten rocks.
