Salient Features of Private Schools.
1) No Country on earth except socialist government could
provide education to all.
2) In every country there is private partnership in the field
of education.
3) In Pakistan Private Schools were established well
before partition.
4) These schools were high in quality and not that expensive.
5) They were run by Missionary School System.
6) Best Examples, Aitcheson College, F C College, Edwards
College, St. Marry school and so many.
In 1972, the then President and martial Law
Administrator Z A Bhutto Nationalized these
private schools.
It was a vital blow as they were a good
second option for parents.
Bureaucratic interference and running of
these school destroyed the image of these
institutions.
In 1979 again through an ordinance, Gen Zia
up Haq denationalized these institutions.
In 90’s Private schools saw a boom as
state run schools failed to be sufficient.
Growth was recorded as 69% .
According to a careful estimate, 46%
students study in private schools with
34% enrollment.
It is now a huge sector of economy which
is drawing great investment.
Why Parents Choose A Private School
1. Income of parents.
2. Teachers’ Quality Factors.
a. Parents’ knowledge of the teacher.
b. Parents’ opinion of teachers’ regularity.
c. Parents’ rating of teaching skills of
teachers.
3. Facilities in education.
4. Child safety.
