1. Devices and Technologies I use
in STEM & STEAM education
Khader Humied
I use many tools to help teach STEM
classes to teach young children and adults.
I find the thinking behind STEM more
critical than the devices used to teach it.
My inspiration for STEM and STEAM education
devolved from Da Vinic's ideas and work. He
was the ideal renaissance man; he covered
SScience TTechnology EEngineering AArt and MMath
in his works.
2. The Methods and Tools IThe Methods and Tools I
useuse
3D printers
Computer modeling software
Old-fashioned crafts and cardboard models
Hands-on experiments
Drawing with pencil and paper
Imagination: The most important STEM tool
3. 3D printers are becoming more
accessible and affordable
Libraries, schools and Makers spaces
allow anyone to use 3d printers
4. STEM and Project Based Learning
Computers are the
most versatile STEM
tool.
Students can use them
at home or in the class.
They can collaborate
and share files.

6. My favorite STEM tools:
SketchUp software:
Easy to use 3D software that allows users to
design and build any ideas they have in mind
3D printer:
This technology allows any user to print/
manufacture objects they have designed

7. Why use 3D printers
Museums use 3D printers to create duplicates of historic artifacts as
learning tools.
A 3D printers can be used in the classroom as a tool to assist students
in solving scientific problems and building real objects that can be
tested.
Using 3D printers, children can make their own toys and inventions.
8. STEM is the future of teaching
The world needs a whole generation of problem
-solvers. We need to educate students to be
divergent thinkers and to think outside the box.
Students with open minds and flexible interest in
many subjects are able to make new connections
and promote innovation.
9. My Expectations for this class
To learn the theories and practices of implementing
STEM education in the classroom
To design and assess my own STEM classes
in the future.
To develop better teaching practices
