3. Objectives
The students will be able to identify and distinguish
shapes by identifying shapes on a poster, watching a
YouTube video and cutting shapes out , creating
their own poster on PowerPoint, drawing shapes in
shaving cream and creating shapes on Microsoft
word. The students will identify and distinguish the
shapes with 95% accuracy by the end of the week.
4. Day by Day Breakdown
Monday- introduce shapes to students by showing manipulatives (poster) ,
and showing them digital imaging pictures of shapes in the real world.
Tuesday- The students will watch a video about the shapes (storytelling
video). Cut out shapes that they see in the video. Try to name the shapes
they see on the robot I created (Benjamin Franklin).
Wednesday- The students and I will create a poster using PowerPoint to
display the shapes they have learned in class ( I will post these posters on
Facebook, Twitter, and My Kindergarten Blog for parents to see what we’ve
been working on in class).
Thursday- I will play the YouTube video I created and they will draw the
shapes in shaving cream after the video is played (We will share pictures on
Facebook, Twitter and the Kindergarten Blog).
Friday-The students will use snipping tool on the computer to take pictures
of the shapes they created using Microsoft word (insert, shapes). Then I
will let them listen to my Podcast about shapes. After that they will log on
their I-pads, come up with their own facts about shapes and use the Zello
app to share.
