In her PowerPoint, she outlines conventional elements film openings typically contain, including establishing narrative, characters, location, props, and sound design choices to set mood. Technical aspects like filters, lighting, sound, and title design are also important to consider. Overall, film openings have essential requirements but also flexibility to reflect the specific film's tone through creative choices.

2. From researching into 5 different film openings I have
found how there are many different ways to create
movie openings, some being more effective that
others.

3.  In this PowerPoint I will go through conventional
content, creating the correct mood, titles and
technical construction.

4.  Some kind of narrative being established.
 At least one main character being shown.
 An effective, relevant location.
 (Optional) Some props used that the audience can
read from.
 Diegetic ambient sound to create audio continuity
or/and non diegetic incidental music to create
atmosphere.
 Dialogue and/or a voice over is optional but can be
effective.

5.  A subtle correct use of filters to show the right mood
you are trying to give off.
 Lighting (if needed) to portray the character(s) shown
in a certain way.
 The right sound(s) used to give off the mood you are
aiming to creating.
For example, a horror film opening may have a dark
red filter, low key lighting and incidental music
throughout.

6.  Essential to show the idents and title of the film.




Adding actresses/actors names can be effective too.
Typography that reflects the mood of the film
opening.
Appears long enough on the screen for the audience to
read but not too long so they get bored.
Sound may/may not be used, it depends what kind of
atmosphere you are trying to create.
Most suitable colour used and a background where the
titles can still be read from.

7.  From the edit timeline I made I can see how;
- a range of shots were used.
- some shots were short and edited together quickly,
others were longer.
- titles tended to come at the start of the opening.
- sound sometimes faded in and out changing the
mood given.

8.  In conclusion I can see how film openings have some
essential requirements (e.g titles, some kind of sound,
etc.) but also have lots of ways to make it your own and
right for the film that would have been following it (e.g
filters, lighting, various kinds of sound, etc.).
