1. Plans for image taking
My model will be wearingquite‘indie’like clothes.BythisImean they will
be wearing a majority of denim and a long T-Shirt, this is so they will be
able to be a good representation of the genre by looking similar to other
artists who are of the same genre. I chose my actor because he has quite
an ‘Indie’style,ashe wearsquite alot of denim, which means it would be
much easiertouse thisactor due to the easy access to ‘Indie like’ clothes.
Furthermore, his hair cut is quite like some famous indie bands’ hair cut
such as Oasis, this would make my poster more realistic as the target
audience wouldbe able torecognise the genre more easilybyrelatingit to
some famous bands of the same genre. I have chosen to use Saxon Du
Plooy as my model because his fashion is naturally indie so it would be
easy for me to use him for my pictures, as he would already have the
correct outfit that I need.
My costume choice formymodel wouldbe like Hozier’s choice of
outfit because it allows my target audience to recognise that the
genre of musicwouldbe like Hozier’smusic,therefore suggesting
the music would be down to earth as shown by the relaxed
outfit. I would have my actor wear a denim jacket with an over-
sizedwhite topon underneath it, and they would also have black
skinnyjeans.He wouldalsobe wearing some brown muddy jeans
to make it more realistictothe setting (o f a field) and to also add
a sense of mystery because the audience may question what the
artistwentthroughto get hisbootsmuddy.Furthermore,the idea
of the musicbeingnatural wouldbe supportedbymybackground,
of a field,whichwouldinferthatthe artistisin touchwith nature.
For my props I will use a guitar that my artist will wear on their back for the shoot, this will
immediately show to the audience that the music is related solely to the artist. This could also
connote acoustic music which could make the genre further seem down to earth and therefore
support the genre of the music. I will also use a polaroid as my album cover, as Indie was first
successful when polaroid’s were a very successful way of capturing pictures. Therefore, it would
support the genre and show to the target audience that the music is trying to relate to the original
kind of old Indie music.
My model will be posing with a guitar strapped around his back and he will have his hands in his
pocketswithhisarmsfacingoutward so that he would be portrayed as an approachable artist, thus
makingmore people wantto buy the album, due to the feeling of comfort shown by their posture.
