The main detective always has a troubled personal life
Normally has the program names after them
Usually has a sidekick
The criminal are often transient characters
Each episode has a different crime to solve
Conflict between good and evil

6. SHERLOCK
Sherlock is one of the most well known detectives, this is also where we
get the classic stereotypes from.
Sherlock has been recreated many times and the most recent remake stars
Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as Dr
John H. Watson (produced by Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat 2010-2016)
The original Sherlock TV series was release in 1954-1955
