Working Title Films is a British film production company, based
in London and owned by Universal Studios.
They usually produce comedy dramas with the occasional
romances or thrillers. Many of their films are semi-independent
yet some have become blockbusters or classics such as Bridget
Jones’s Diary and Johnny English
Studio Canal is a French based production and distribution
company.
Originally, Studio Canal’s focus were on French and European
productions, but they later made strategic deals with American
production companies.
Studio Canal produce a large range of genres of films from
comedy to horror to historical to thriller.
Studio Canal have links to Universal Studios (Studiocanal and
Universal Studios were owned by the same company between
2000 and 2004, hence StudioCanal co-produced a fair number of
Universal's films).
Some of their comedy/horror/action movies include Shaun of
the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Sightseers and Trash
5. Marv Films
Marv Films is a British production company that
started in 2004. They only have a few films but they all
have been huge hits due to being in co-production
with American companies such as 20th Century Fox
and Lionsgate.
This too means that they alone are semi-independent,
until they get Hollywood loans in to fund and show
their films in America.
They have more films focused on the genre of
comedy thriller such as Kick-Ass, Kick-Ass 2 and
Kingsman: The Secret Service
