UK and was founded in 1934. The company is best known
for a series Of Gothic “Hammer horror” films which was
made in the 1950s and finished in the 1970s. Hammer also
produced science fiction, thrillers, film noir and comedies
and have recently been covering television series. During its
most highlighted years, they had dominated the horror film
market, making them successful in the distribution
business, however this only happened because of the
partial partnership with major US studios, such as the
Warner Bros. They have covered films such as Dracula and
The curse of Frankenstein and the most recent, Woman in

distribution company based in London, England.
Vertigo films was first created in 2002 by the producers
Allan Niblo, Nick Love and Rob Morgan. They have
recently produced the Sweeney which is a thriller
gangsta film which, coincides with what are film
consists of. Its current stated goal is to produce and
distribute four films per year and distribute another
four, a cost at which most Hollywood studios spend on
their personal trainer. Vertigo films are an interesting
production company because they represent a creative
vision of England's independent film industry especially
after the rise of Working title.

• Artificial eye is a British film distributor, which
mostly specialise in foreign language films and
art house films for cinema and home
entertainment. It was founded in 1976 by Andi
Engel, a German born film enthusiast who
died in December 2006. By 2006, Artificial Eye
became a part of Curzon Artificial Eye which is
a group of companies in the film
entertainment industry.
