1. Pitch
The title of our film will be called The Storking. We have chose this pun as when the title is read aloud it sounds like ‘stalking’ which relates to the idea of the children coming back to life. Also it is spelt like Storking as the animal stork is a traditional tale of how babies are brought into the world.
Plot synopsis
Overall the film is going to be based upon a mother who’s children are murdered and they come back to torment their mother. The twist in the story is that it was the mother who murdered her children only she is turning psychopathic so does not realize this. We based our story on true events, as in the world today there are cases of mothers murdering their children.

Title sequence
In the first few minutes of the film we will have multiple shots showing a psychopathic mother cradling an imaginary child in her arms humming a child’s lullaby. We will include other shots throughout of bath water running red, children swings swaying with no child on them, a melted ballerina trinket box going round and children skipping holding hands with references in-between of children’s toys broken.
Creative techniques
Camera shots that we are considering using are close ups on the children’s toys and trinket box to show significance and give the idea of children and uneasiness. Medium long shot of woman cradling imaginary child next to window to create a uncertain feeling toward her with low key lighting to emphasise this, zoom and reverse zoom to distort the images and give it again that uneasy feel, low angle over child’s toys to show dominance over them and represent helplessness of kids, shallow and deep focus depending on shot to create a tense atmosphere, whip pan to show quickness and harshness of the killings, transactions such as fade to give a ghostly feel and a video effect to give an eerie feel and again the idea of ghosts.
Funding
Our film is going to be British, as we will receive funding form the British film council. It is going to be independent as this is a cheaper option and therefore if it is a success then the profits will be great. We will not include well-known actors in our film as we wish for the film to be perceived as serious and by adding new unknown faces to the screen we feel this point will be brought across on a more serious tone rather than if Angelina Jolie played the mother. Another reason is that this is another low cost option.
25 words
When single parent Jayne Walker finds her children murdered she thinks it’s the end of everything, or is it? No one knows what happens behind closed doors.
