2. I like the design of this billboard due to the plain design and title making it easy to take in all the
information quickly however I would change the colours from black and white and make them more
vibrant and eye-catching. The black and white gives the billboard a dramatic, designer feel connoting
expensive clothing however I do not want to give this message to my target audience as they will be
young and on a budget which most likely cannot afford designer brands. However I do think the models
pose is effective in regards to showing all her clothing and and accessories advertising them well.
3. I really like the style of Missguided’s billboards due to the colour and design. In a lot of fashion billboards it is
common for the model to be lying across the billboard however I prefer the model to be standing upright
showing her clothing this way as it makes the models facial expression also clear ensuring a direct mode of
address can be created to connect with the audience. I do however think this billboard would be improved
with slightly more information such as a website address or slogan.
The models they use are also young and will appeal to a young audience. The colour scheme and design also
looks as though it is aimed at young people and doesn’t give the impression of designer overly expensive
clothing which will suit my target audience.
4. I prefer this billboard over the first Missguided one as it includes a slogan and website logo and the text also covers the
whole length of the billboard making it more dominant and eye-catching. I like how the writing is placed over the
model however does not block important parts of this image; this allows the audience to take all the information in
quickly at once and they view the image and read the writing almost at the same time. It is almost impossible to only
view one or the other whereas if the image was placed separately from the writing, the viewer may only see the image
and not pay attention to the writing and vice versa. The only thing I dislike about this billboard is how the model is
wearing sunglasses and cannot fully make eye contact through a direct mode of address with audience which I think is
useful in grabbing their attention and making them take an interest in the billboard.
5. In this billboard, I specifically like the incorporation of social media links as this is very up to date and links well with my
target audience as they are stereotypically up to date with technology and familiar with social media using it frequently
therefore this will appeal to them and connotes the company is modern. However, I would make them larger as they are
very small and not very eye-catching. I also do not like the background as it is too distracting for a billboard and prefer the
a plain background to add more emphasis on the writing and image. I do however like the image and how the model
stands out over the background and all her clothing is visible.
