Rams Research Paper
Super Bowl XXXVI was a matchup between the New England Patriots and the St. Louis Rams. It
was suppose to be a day where the Rams' prolific offence add their second Lombardi Trophy. "New
England was a 14 point underdog. The third highest spread in super bowl history." (McGinn 278)
The Rams racked up 427 of offense to the Patriots 214 of offence. Patriots planted 8 times out of
their first to drivers, and had been inside the Rams 25 yard line only once. However it was still a
game. With 1:21 left to go in the fame Tom Brady with no time outs lead his team to the Rams 38
yard line to set up the winning 48 yard field goal from Adam Vinatieri. (YouTube) The Patriots'
Adam Vinatieri crushed a 48 yard field goal to win the game to start what would become a dynasty.
It was a hard fought game by both teams who deserved to fight for the Lombardi Trophy. (McGinn

The margin between the two teams was very narrow. The Cardinals offense was powerful and the
Steelers difference was mean. (McGinn 346) The Steelers won the game 27–23. Thing got very
interesting in the last quarter with 2 lead changes in the last two and a half minutes. (McGinn) For
the most part of the first 3 quarters, it was all Pittsburgh with a 20–7 lead over Arizona. To end the
first half James Harrison had a 100 yard pick six. Arizona stormed back in the 4 quarter to take the
lead after Fitzgerald's 64 yard touchdown sprint. 2:30 was left in the game and Big Ben lead his
team to win the game with an unreal throw and catch. (McGinn 347)
This was a battle between the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI. Both
teams had a plethora of offense. The Falcons had speed, and the Patriots used precisions. Both
defenses were respectful. This game was bound to be a good one. (Associated Press

New England Patriots Game Analysis
In January of 2015, quarterback Tom Brady of the New England Patriots was accused of deflating
balls used in the January 2015 AFC Championship game against the Indianapolis Colts. It was
reported that 11 of the 12 footballs provided by the Patriots were deflated. The balls weighed 2 lbs
under the minimum weight of 12 psi. As a result, not only did the New England Patriots receive a
hefty fee but so did quarterback Tom Brady.
After doing this activity, I observed that as temperature decreases so does the pressure. This isn't
something that you can control. Rather, it is something that naturally happens. When the first two
examples were done, I noticed that there was a slight trend between the ending pressures as the
temperatures decreased. For instance, at 70 degrees the temperatures were both 12.5 psi because that
was the initial pressure of course. However, at 63 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
January 2008 the Green Packers played the New York Giants in fight for the NFC Championships.
In this game the temperatures were recorded to have fallen to –26 degrees. Like the first two, the
temperature was recorded to begin at 70 degrees and continued all the way to –26 degrees and the
pressure was found for every temperature. Again, the trend was seen. As the temperature decreased
by 10 degrees, the psi dropped by 1.25. At the final temperature the ball would have seen to have a
negative psi.
If the ball of the New England Patriots were to naturally decrease then the Packers and Giants
would've had to put more air in their balls throughout the game. It is impossible to play a football
game with a ball whose pressure is recorded to be negative, especially at a professional level. As for
the New England Patriots, one can make an argument that the ball naturally deflated. Due to the
decreasing temperature, it is absolutely plausible for the balls to have

Analysis: The Secret To The Patriots
"The Secret to the Patriots' success, DEFENSE?"
The New England Patriots have been thriving during this 2016 season without their star quarterback
Tom Brady, who has been suspended for the first four games of the season for "deflating footballs"
in a 'scandal' called Deflategate. The Patriots have had to rely on back–up QB Jimmy Garropolo,
who has filled in his role admirably and led the Patriots to a 2–0 record. However, Garropolo
suffered an AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder during Week 2's game against the Miami
Dolphins, and third–stringer Jacoby Brissett became the Patriots' new starting QB. In Week 3,
Brissett carried the Patriots to a commanding 27–0 victory over the Houston Texans. Garropolo and
Brissett are both the results of a system of finding potential and developing it, yet they were both
helped by a consistent defense that has held the opponent and kept the Patriots in a game. Belichick
not only focused on the development of his inexperienced QB and the plays of his offense, but also
worked hard with a defense ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ever since Belichick and Tom Brady have been working together starting in 2001, the Patriots have
had 14 consecutive winning seasons, 22 postseason victories, 6 Super Bowl appearances, and 4
Super Bowl wins. It is now harder than ever to stay atop of the NFL, with many star players opting
for pricier contracts from other teams, yet the Patriots have found a way to consistently beat other
teams for more than a decade. Furthermore, the Patriots have found ways to win despite major
injuries from Tom Brady, maybe the greatest quarterback of all

Process Essay: How To Become A Patriots Fan
How to be a Patriots Fan
I watched football all my life, and was not a true fan. The first step in becoming a New England
Patriots fan is you have to find your spark of passion for everything Patriots. That fire inside you
where you love the Pats so much that you will die for Tom Brady And Bill Belichick, and you will
fight until the end against anyone who says otherwise. To find that spark, all it takes is one game.
You can watch football and not be a Patriots fan but it takes that one game. A game where Tom
Brady is breaking records like he normally does, a game where the Patriots are doing the impossible
as they always do. My game was in 2011, the AFC divisional round when Tom Brady's Patriots,
played Tim Tebow's Denver Broncos. I had been watching football all my life, even watched the
first three Superbowls that the Patriots had won. It was that one game that sparked my die–hard
loyalty to the greatest dynasty in sports history.
I am never going to forget that game. The Patriots were doing what they always do, marching the
way to the Superbowl one game at a time. Tim Tebow was on fire that ... Show more content on

You need to be able to fight for your team. To be able to properly trash talk you need to actually
know what you're talking about, especially when it comes to football. As a Patriots fan, you're in
luck. Since the Patriots are five–time champions and always do the impossible, they make one hell
of a story. There is so much "Pats Porn" in books and on the internet. You have to do your research
so you eventually know every important game, you know almost every record, and you can trash
talk even the saltiest of Buffalo Bills fans. One problem you may run into though is a Dallas
Cowboys fan or, a San Francisco 49ers fan talking about the "Pre–Brady/Belichick era" (which is
before the 2001 season). A good start to silencing them is talking about the salary

Tom Brady: NFL Quarterback
One of the most famous quarterbacks of all time in the NFL is the Patriots' quarterback, Tom Brady.
He has come a long way from his birthplace to make something of himself in New England. New
England is lucky that Tom Brady was drafted to the New England Patriots, because it is his skill
combined with Bill Belichick's tactics that has brought home four Super Bowl wins to New
England. He was born on August 3, 1977 in San Mateo California. His full name is Thomas Edward
Patrick Brady. He went to Junipero Serra High School. When he graduated in 1995, Brady got
offered a chance to play professional baseball and go to the University of Michigan. He didn't want
to play baseball. Instead he went to floridia to play for
Tom didn't spend a lot of time in the field in his two first college seasons. But he served as the

he helped the team secure a win over the St. Louis Rams at Superbowl XXXVI, and Brady received
the game's MVP award. Two years later, Brady led his team to another win at Super Bowl XXXVIII
against the Carolina Panthers. For his effort, he won his second Super Bowl MVP Award. And in the

Eagles 24–21. In 2005, Brady signed a new six–year contract with the Patriots, and

Future Patriots Research Paper
Is going 0–16 the way to be better prepared for future seasons? Looking on the NFL now the New
England Patriots are arguably the best team in the league. Yet, The Cleveland Browns are going to
be one of the best teams in just a few short seasons. When looking at the two organizations the
Browns are better equipped for the future than the reigning Super Bowl Champions. One example,
the New England Patriots are a much older team than the Cleveland Browns. The Patriots have a
quarterback that is over forty years old, meaning this guy is a ticking time bomb and one hit could
end his career. The Patriots also rank twenty–sixth in league age. Since all their players are so old
they will have to bring in all new guys within just a few years. Cleveland, on the other hand, will
have a young Quarterback of their choosing in the draft who is no older than 24 and this guy will be
able to take a hit. The Browns also do not have to worry about players retiring as they are the
youngest team in the NFL. This allows them to keep key players for many years to come. ... Show

New England has traded away almost half of their picks in the upcoming draft, forcing them to have
to deal with the fact of minimal rookies that can better their team for the future. Even, though
inexperienced, young rookies have made the pro bowl and made other great accomplishments. This
proves how important it is too keep fresh talent coming in. Anyone can see the Browns have plenty
of fresh talent coming in. They have not traded away a single pick plus have more picks total than
every other team. They total seven picks in the top 108 and twelve total. This shows they are well
prepared to build there team for years to come. Their simple, yet strategic way of building their team

New England Patriots: The Greatest Diaries In Sports History
This year we experienced, according to many, the greatest comeback in sports history. The New
England Patriots came back from being down 28–3 to end up winning the Super Bowl against the
Atlanta Falcons. The NFL has had many crazy games, but where did it all begin? The NFL, founded
in 1920, has morphed greatly since the origin, and has immensely impacted the world of sports.
The National Football League was officially founded on September 17, 1920 in Canton, Ohio.
Ralph Hay, the owner of the Canton Bulldogs, is credited with the organizing of the meeting in
which the NFL was agreed upon. The original 14 teams were the Buffalo Bison, the Akron Pros, the

Analysis Of The Book ' Tom Brady '
In the 2014 AFC Championship game between the Indianapolis Colts and the New England Patriots
there was tampering with the footballs, which became known as Deflategate. NFL footballs are
supposed to have a PSI (pounds per square inch) between 12.5 and 13.5. The New England Patriot's
footballs at half time were lower than 12.5 and nobody knows how that happened and that's where
the Deflategate Scandal was born. In the three articles I will be analyzing the three sides the
Indianapolis Colts , the New England Patriots and the rest of America's point of views of the
Deflategate scandal. Indianapolis Colts have an unbelievable disliking for the New England Patriots
they have never liked them and never will. The article "Tom Brady, Deflategate villain" from the
INDYSTAR uses pathos and ethos to get the point across to Colts fans. This article is meant for
Colts fans because it shows a lot of hate toward Tom Brady. In the beginning of the article its starts
off saying "It 's worse than we thought. Well, not it. Him. Tom Brady. He 's worse than we thought."
This shows that the author already didn't like Tom Brady but after this came out on the news this
pushed Colts fans over the top. This article shows that most of Indianapolis thinks Tom Brady
cheated. In the article they are calling Tom Brady a Liar and saying that he is ultimately responsible
for the deflation of the balls in the AFC Championship game. It also goes on talking about Tom
Brady's reputation, and how he is a

My Favorite Football Team
Two years ago, my favorite football team the New England Patriots were having a pretty good
season and they ended up doing so good that they made the playoffs. They kept it up in the playoffs
and played just like they did in the regular season. The Patriots ended up going all the way to the
Super Bowl. In the Super Bowl the Patriots were going to play the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks
were also a really good team that year. The Seahawks were pretty good but I thought the Patriots
were better. Me and my mom went to my uncle's house for a Super Bowl party that year. There were
probably somewhere around twenty people at the Super Bowl party. There was a lot of food and
things to do there but I was more focused on when the game was going to start. Once the game was
about to start everyone found a seat and got ready for the game to begin. The game started off good,
but neither team scored in the whole first quarter. The Patriots scored early in the second quarter and
I thought it was going to be an easy win at the point for the Patriots. Towards the end of the second
quarter the Seahawks also scored tying the game up. Then I knew the Patriots weren't going to win
that easily and both teams were going to put up a fight throughout the whole game. With less than a
minute to go in the second quarter the Patriots scored again making the score fourteen to seven.
Then with only a couple seconds left in the quarter the Seahawks also scored once again tying the
game. With the Patriots and Seahawks going back and forth I knew it was going to be a really good
game and the Patriots were going to have to work extra hard to walk away with the win. So at
halftime the score was tied up fourteen to fourteen, the Patriots and the Seahawks looked really even
throughout the first half, but I still thought the Patriots were going to take the win. With the start of
the second half the Seahawks got a field goal early. With that field goal the Seahawks were only
winning by three by that point and I wasn't really worried. But later on in the third quarter the
Seahawks scored a touchdown making the score twenty four to seventeen. With only fifteen minutes
left to go in the biggest game of the year being down by ten didn't look good, but I

Persuasive Essay On Patriots
As of February fifth, 2017, the New England Patriots have solidified their placement as the best

most winningest quarterback in terms of super bowl wins, but Tom Brady as New England's
quarterback has more super bowl championships won then twenty–eight other professional
organizations in the NFL.
As an illustration of the superior success that the Patriots have achieved statistics to back up my
claim was gathered, "New England's regular–season winning percentage of .766 over these 16
seasons is the best of any team in league history in a span of at least 12 years." This statistic is
dominant, this is a feat that has not been accomplished in over fifty years. In a span of 16 years the
ability to be this explosive and in a league where teams are carefully crafted and salary caps are

Free agents demand for very high compensation and this takes away major chunk of available
salary. Every team has to come up with good balance of rookies and veterans to meet salary cap.
From players' perspective, in order to be compensated heavily they will go with the team who has
fewer star performers. This can result in fewer victories under their belt, and can defame them in
fewer seasons. This can also lead to short career timeframes.
To rebuild damaged reputation players will quite often take less paying contracts from top
performing teams. Such players will always work towards switching teams when lured with better
packages. This will lead to higher attrition rate. This will also damage loyalty of players for teams
and teams will face hard time retaining top performers.
Salary Cap will also affect motivation of the players if they do not get what satisfy them. They will
be majorly playing towards maximizing their wealth rather than wining and keeping the spirit of the
game alive.
Patriots' Compensation System
With constrains from salary cap every NFL team have to think beside financial incentives to
compensate players. Bill Belichick, the New England Patriots coach, altered his approach to
incentivize players. He eliminated larger salary gaps among players, as he believed that it is hard

With this approach, he could not retain

New England Patriots: The Value Of A Football Team
I went to bed disappointed last night after my favored team, the Atlanta Falcons, allowed an NFL
championship to slip from their grasp in the closing minutes of the game. I woke up this morning
ready to take on the day without regard to who won or lost. It is a game and it is a game I love. But,
I do not live or die by what happens on a football field. I did learn something about leadership
however.
The theme for the New England Patriots this year was "do your job." The premise is to focus on
your responsibility, do it with excellence, and see it through. Don't be concerned about what others
are supposed to be doing. "Do your job!" I have often stated that the greatest expertise lies in
knowing how someone else should be doing their job. Whether it is a referee, a coach who makes a
call we don't agree with, a president, our boss, or a CEO, we have a tendency to mentally (and
sometimes verbally) critique and pontificate on how they can do their job better. It is so easy to be
an expert on someone else's job when you have no personal responsibility or consequences for an
opinion. Bill Belichick drove home to his team day in and day out to focus on their own job rather
than the job or task that someone else has responsibility for. ... Show more content on

Super Bowl LI was an American football game played between the American Football Conference
(AFC) champions New England Patriots and the National Football Conference (NFC) champions
Atlanta Falcons, to decide the National Football League (NFL) champion for the 2016 season. The
Patriots defeated the Falcons, 34–28, in the first Super Bowl ever to go into an overtime period.[8]

Super Bowl LI was played at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, on Sunday, February 5, 2017.[10] It
was the second Super Bowl to be held at NRG Stadium, the other being Super Bowl XXXVIII in

New England Patriots Injury Report
The New England Patriots have had a well documented offseason and will be operating with Jimmy
Garoppolo under center for the first four games of the season, instead of the incumbent Tom Brady.
However, the Patriots have a growing issue that is being overlooked. Their injury report is mounting
and has become a massive issue for the 2014 Super Bowl champions. One of the most prolific
Patriots to land on the shelf was Rob Ninkovich, the defensive end/linebacker and Swiss Army
Knife of the Patriots defense. Ninkovich tore his triceps muscle and will be sidelined until at least
October. To make matters worse, their fourth round pick, wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell suffered a

New England Patriots : 6-0
1. New England Patriots: 6–0 (1) For the third time in the Tom Brady era, the Patriots are 6–0. The
other two times (2004 and 2007) the team went on to play in the Super Bowl era. Tom Brady is
arguably playing the best football of his career. The team is extremely versatile, co constantly
adapting their game plans to fit their opponents. One week after running up a storm against the
Colts, the Patriots ran the ball a mere nine times, five oh which were by Tom Brady. The Patriots get
better and better each week. The team continues to impress me. They have yet to be 100 percent
healthy, and despite this, the team is clearly the best in the NFL. 2. Cincinnati Bengals: 6–0 (2) I say
it every week and I'll say it again. I am all in on the Bengals this season. Andy Dalton has been
spectacular thus far, throwing 14 touchdowns to just two interceptions. Of all the undefeated teams,
the Bengals have been the most tested and it doesn't get any easier from here as the team's next two
opponents are the Steelers and the Browns. 3. Green Bay Packers: 6–0 (3) Coming off of their bye
week, the Packers finally have a chance to get healthy. Despite, an abundance of injuries the team
has still looked like one of the best teams in the entire NFL. This week they are taking on another
undefeated team in the Broncos. I expect Eddie Lacy to have a much bigger role in the offense this
week, as according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, he has looked much healthier than he did the

New England Patriots : 8-0 Essay
1. New England Patriots: 8–0 (1) The Patriots continue to roll after winning 27–10 on Sunday over
the Redskins. Brandon Lafell got back on track, finishing with five catches and 102 yards. I would
say this was the worst the Patriots have looked all season on offense and, despite this, they still
scored 27 points easily. The team has scored in and NFL record 31 straight quarters. The one low
spot for the Patriots is the loss of Dion Lewis, who is out of the remainder of the season with a torn
ACL. Despite this awful news, I still believe the Patriots will finish 16–0. 2. Cincinnati Bengals: 8–0
(2) The "Andy Dalton Dud Game" still hasn't happened yet, and I don't think it will any time soon.
This Bengals teams is much different than the Bengals teams of the previous four seasons. Dalton is
playing at an all–time high level, the defense looks like one of best in the league, and they are one of
the deepest teams in the league. At 8–0 the Bengals have some breathing room in the AFC North.
They sit four games up in the loss column on the second place Steelers. 3. Arizona Cardinals: 6–2
(3) The Cardinals lead the NFL in point differential this season. Carson Palmer has lost two games
as a starting quarterback dating back to the 2013 regular season. With a two game lead in the NFC
West, this weeks Sunday Night Matchup against the Seahawks is the team's biggest test to date. 4.

New England Patriots Campaign Essay
In late 2014 the New England Patriots launched a campaign to thank fans for being the first football
team to hit one million Twitter followers. (Molinet, 2014) Every time a Twitter user shared a post
made by the Patriots they would create a customized online jersey for said user. The campaign was
meant to spark social media users into following and supporting the four–time super bowl
champions to be the number one Twitter team in the Nation Football League. However, this attempt
to thank its faithful fans fell flat and the internet trolls came out of their caves and ruined the whole

One strength of the campaign is that it focused on a very specific group of people in 2014: young
football fans. This consolidated audience made the target group easy to cater to. The had Rob
Gronkowski, a younger more youthful patriot, sign each digital jersey that had the fan's name on it.
The main weakness of this campaign is the faith in the internet audience to be responsible with the
opportunity to display something very publicly. I would recommend cleaning up the individualism
of the specific jerseys, possibly putting the user's name instead of their twitter address. The Patriots
could advertise in a way that left them in control of the advertising and not users of the internet. This
would make it seem more like a real jersey and would perhaps have better monitoring capabilities. A
more integrated advertising approach would include other forms of social media to advertise the
patriots and their goal to be the best at everything. Since the campaign in 2014 the Patriot's twitter
page had 2.5 million followers on their twitter page and they have yet to have a twitter campaign
since. Overall, the campaign began smoothly but ended in utter chaos after the internet turned

The Patriots have made the playoffs 16 straight years and is one of the best teams in the NFL. The
New England Patriots are a great NFL team. Despite its greatness, many people do not know how
this team was created.
The team was not always called the New England Patriots
The original name of the team was the Boston Patriots. The team was given to a group of local
business men and they decided on a contest to choose the name of the team. Thousands of people
submitted names, but in the end, only 74 people chose the winning name. Boston was chosen
because this was where the team was originally located, and Patriots because of Boston's history

The first proposal was made by the governor of Connecticut, and he wanted it to be built in
Hartford. In Massachusetts, the proposal was by the governor was to make a "Megaplex" which
would host the Boston Red Sox as well as the Patriots. The Massachusetts proposal was for the
south of Boston, however the residents of the area were opposed to a new stadium. In 1997, Robert
Kraft began to talk to the mayor of Providence, Rhode Island but the plans fell through because of
opposition of the residents. Finally, the team's ownership wanted to keep the stadium in Foxboro
which resulted in a better offer from Connecticut. As a result Robert Kraft signed the papers to move
the team to Connecticut. The construction was opposed by the residents. Additional problems with
the construction site were discovered and the two parties could not come to an agreement about the
details of the stadium. The whole plan eventually fell through. In 1999, the team officially stated
that it would stay in Foxborough. Robert Kraft ended up paying for all the construction costs, which
was rare for an NFL owner. In 2001, the stadium was demolished and the brand new Gillette
stadium was built. It's grand opening was September 9, 2002. The cost was 325 million dollars.

Patriots : The Failure Of Football And The NFL
he National Football League (NFL) is by far America's most popular sports league. Among the 32
clubs in the league, the New England Patriots are one of the most valuable franchises. From 2000 to
2014, the club claimed 12 division titles, played in nine AFC Conference Championship games,
reached five Super Bowls, and lifted the Lombardi Trophy on three occasions. Along with winning,
controversy follows closely behind, and the Patriots are not immune to it either. In 2007, the Patriots
were caught illegally videotaping opponents, causing the NFL to fine the club and coach Bill
Belichick, and taking a draft pick away (McNear, 2017). Ever since then, the Patriots have been

New England Patriots Deflated Footballs
I do believe that the New England Patriots deflated footballs in the American Football Conference
championship game against the Indianapolis Colts. The game was held on January 18, 2015, at
Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts. The National Football League requires footballs to be inflated
between 12.5 and 13.5 pounds per square inch of air (2016 NFL Rulebook). Before halftime the
Colts' linebacker, D'Qwell Jackson, intercepted a pass from the Patriots' quarterback, Tom Brady.
Later, Jackson said the football appeared spongy, which describes the texture of an underinflated
ball (Deflategate Timeline). At halftime all twelve of the Patriots' footballs were measured, and all
twelve were below the minimum pressure (Deflategate). After the game when the National Football
League launched an investigation, they hired Ted Wells to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Before the report was published, the Patriots argued that the pressure gauges used to measure the
footballs were inaccurate; however, during the testing two different gauges were used, and both
were made by different companies (Deflategate). Also, the gauges were tested after the game, and
both were determined to be accurate (Deflategate). The Patriots also argued that the pressure–
temperature law was the cause of the low pressure in the footballs (Deflategate). This law, also
known as Gay–Lussac's law, stated that a decrease in temperature would cause a decrease in
pressure and vice–versa (ChemTeam: Gas Law – Gay–Lussac's Law). The Patriots said that
according to this law when the footballs were brought outside in the cold air from the warm locker
room, where the balls were inflated, the decrease in temperature caused a decrease in pressure
(Deflategate). HeadSmart labs, a well–trusted scientific consulting group, stated that after
accounting for all environmental factors present during the time of the game the pressure–
temperature law could cause at most one and eight tenths pounds per square inch of air to be

The New England Patriots Played Against The Indianapolis...
Introduction
During the 2015 AFC Championship, the New England Patriots played against the Indianapolis
Colts on January 18th in the Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, MA. Prior to halftime, however, the
Colts brought suspicions of the Patriots having deflated their balls. They requested the pressures be
checked at halftime. Two referees, Blakeman and Prioleau, each measured the pressure of both the
Patriots' and the Colts' balls with separate gauges. The Officials came to the conclusion that all 11 of
the patriots balls were underinflated, the required pressure being between 27.2–28.2 pounds per
square inch (psi). Footballs from the colts were also being tested and appeared to be in the accepted
range. This situation was temporarily postponed so the game could continue. The balls were filled to
regulation pressure before restarting. The patriots went on to win 45–7.
Shortly after, the media began to question the cause of the footballs being deflated. Detractors came
to the conclusion they were merely deflated on purpose, while supporters thought they may have
been affected by the cold temperatures that day, which were in the high forties. This lead to the NFL
hiring the independent law firm, PWRWG, to further investigate.
PWRWG is a science law firm which was assigned to determine if the footballs could infact have
been affected by the weather alone. Using the universal gas law to solve for moles (n), it will be
determined if gas was released.

Title
It all started on January eighteenth, 2015, in a NFL game. The New England Patriots versus the
Indianapolis Colts. After an interception by the Colts, linebacker D'Qwell Jackson an equipment
manager on the colts sideline measured the psi of the football and found they were underinflated.
The allowed psi or pounds per square inch is 12.5 to 13.5. The Patriots balls checked in at 10.5 psi at
halftime of the game when NFL officials checked. It was also stated that eleven of twelve footballs
were underinflated. The deflation of these balls became one of the biggest scandals in sports for the

Judge Berman of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Judge
Berman tried his best to get the NFL and Tom Brady to settle on an agreement but both sides held
their ground for three hearings. After no settlement was reached Judge Berman was forced to make a
ruling, and on september 3, 2015 he threw away Tom Brady's four game suspension. So Tom Brady

Rams Research Paper

  • 1. Rams Research Paper Super Bowl XXXVI was a matchup between the New England Patriots and the St. Louis Rams. It was suppose to be a day where the Rams' prolific offence add their second Lombardi Trophy. "New England was a 14 point underdog. The third highest spread in super bowl history." (McGinn 278) The Rams racked up 427 of offense to the Patriots 214 of offence. Patriots planted 8 times out of their first to drivers, and had been inside the Rams 25 yard line only once. However it was still a game. With 1:21 left to go in the fame Tom Brady with no time outs lead his team to the Rams 38 yard line to set up the winning 48 yard field goal from Adam Vinatieri. (YouTube) The Patriots' Adam Vinatieri crushed a 48 yard field goal to win the game to start what would become a dynasty. It was a hard fought game by both teams who deserved to fight for the Lombardi Trophy. (McGinn 278) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The margin between the two teams was very narrow. The Cardinals offense was powerful and the Steelers difference was mean. (McGinn 346) The Steelers won the game 27–23. Thing got very interesting in the last quarter with 2 lead changes in the last two and a half minutes. (McGinn) For the most part of the first 3 quarters, it was all Pittsburgh with a 20–7 lead over Arizona. To end the first half James Harrison had a 100 yard pick six. Arizona stormed back in the 4 quarter to take the lead after Fitzgerald's 64 yard touchdown sprint. 2:30 was left in the game and Big Ben lead his team to win the game with an unreal throw and catch. (McGinn 347) This was a battle between the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI. Both teams had a plethora of offense. The Falcons had speed, and the Patriots used precisions. Both defenses were respectful. This game was bound to be a good one. (Associated Press ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. New England Patriots Game Analysis In January of 2015, quarterback Tom Brady of the New England Patriots was accused of deflating balls used in the January 2015 AFC Championship game against the Indianapolis Colts. It was reported that 11 of the 12 footballs provided by the Patriots were deflated. The balls weighed 2 lbs under the minimum weight of 12 psi. As a result, not only did the New England Patriots receive a hefty fee but so did quarterback Tom Brady. After doing this activity, I observed that as temperature decreases so does the pressure. This isn't something that you can control. Rather, it is something that naturally happens. When the first two examples were done, I noticed that there was a slight trend between the ending pressures as the temperatures decreased. For instance, at 70 degrees the temperatures were both 12.5 psi because that was the initial pressure of course. However, at 63 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... January 2008 the Green Packers played the New York Giants in fight for the NFC Championships. In this game the temperatures were recorded to have fallen to –26 degrees. Like the first two, the temperature was recorded to begin at 70 degrees and continued all the way to –26 degrees and the pressure was found for every temperature. Again, the trend was seen. As the temperature decreased by 10 degrees, the psi dropped by 1.25. At the final temperature the ball would have seen to have a negative psi. If the ball of the New England Patriots were to naturally decrease then the Packers and Giants would've had to put more air in their balls throughout the game. It is impossible to play a football game with a ball whose pressure is recorded to be negative, especially at a professional level. As for the New England Patriots, one can make an argument that the ball naturally deflated. Due to the decreasing temperature, it is absolutely plausible for the balls to have ... • 5. Analysis: The Secret To The Patriots "The Secret to the Patriots' success, DEFENSE?" The New England Patriots have been thriving during this 2016 season without their star quarterback Tom Brady, who has been suspended for the first four games of the season for "deflating footballs" in a 'scandal' called Deflategate. The Patriots have had to rely on back–up QB Jimmy Garropolo, who has filled in his role admirably and led the Patriots to a 2–0 record. However, Garropolo suffered an AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder during Week 2's game against the Miami Dolphins, and third–stringer Jacoby Brissett became the Patriots' new starting QB. In Week 3, Brissett carried the Patriots to a commanding 27–0 victory over the Houston Texans. Garropolo and Brissett are both the results of a system of finding potential and developing it, yet they were both helped by a consistent defense that has held the opponent and kept the Patriots in a game. Belichick not only focused on the development of his inexperienced QB and the plays of his offense, but also worked hard with a defense ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ever since Belichick and Tom Brady have been working together starting in 2001, the Patriots have had 14 consecutive winning seasons, 22 postseason victories, 6 Super Bowl appearances, and 4 Super Bowl wins. It is now harder than ever to stay atop of the NFL, with many star players opting for pricier contracts from other teams, yet the Patriots have found a way to consistently beat other teams for more than a decade. Furthermore, the Patriots have found ways to win despite major injuries from Tom Brady, maybe the greatest quarterback of all ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Process Essay: How To Become A Patriots Fan How to be a Patriots Fan I watched football all my life, and was not a true fan. The first step in becoming a New England Patriots fan is you have to find your spark of passion for everything Patriots. That fire inside you where you love the Pats so much that you will die for Tom Brady And Bill Belichick, and you will fight until the end against anyone who says otherwise. To find that spark, all it takes is one game. You can watch football and not be a Patriots fan but it takes that one game. A game where Tom Brady is breaking records like he normally does, a game where the Patriots are doing the impossible as they always do. My game was in 2011, the AFC divisional round when Tom Brady's Patriots, played Tim Tebow's Denver Broncos. I had been watching football all my life, even watched the first three Superbowls that the Patriots had won. It was that one game that sparked my die–hard loyalty to the greatest dynasty in sports history. I am never going to forget that game. The Patriots were doing what they always do, marching the way to the Superbowl one game at a time. Tim Tebow was on fire that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... You need to be able to fight for your team. To be able to properly trash talk you need to actually know what you're talking about, especially when it comes to football. As a Patriots fan, you're in luck. Since the Patriots are five–time champions and always do the impossible, they make one hell of a story. There is so much "Pats Porn" in books and on the internet. You have to do your research so you eventually know every important game, you know almost every record, and you can trash talk even the saltiest of Buffalo Bills fans. One problem you may run into though is a Dallas Cowboys fan or, a San Francisco 49ers fan talking about the "Pre–Brady/Belichick era" (which is before the 2001 season). A good start to silencing them is talking about the salary ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Tom Brady: NFL Quarterback One of the most famous quarterbacks of all time in the NFL is the Patriots' quarterback, Tom Brady. He has come a long way from his birthplace to make something of himself in New England. New England is lucky that Tom Brady was drafted to the New England Patriots, because it is his skill combined with Bill Belichick's tactics that has brought home four Super Bowl wins to New England. He was born on August 3, 1977 in San Mateo California. His full name is Thomas Edward Patrick Brady. He went to Junipero Serra High School. When he graduated in 1995, Brady got offered a chance to play professional baseball and go to the University of Michigan. He didn't want to play baseball. Instead he went to floridia to play for Tom didn't spend a lot of time in the field in his two first college seasons. But he served as the starting quarterback. • 11. Future Patriots Research Paper Is going 0–16 the way to be better prepared for future seasons? Looking on the NFL now the New England Patriots are arguably the best team in the league. Yet, The Cleveland Browns are going to be one of the best teams in just a few short seasons. When looking at the two organizations the Browns are better equipped for the future than the reigning Super Bowl Champions. One example, the New England Patriots are a much older team than the Cleveland Browns. The Patriots have a quarterback that is over forty years old, meaning this guy is a ticking time bomb and one hit could end his career. The Patriots also rank twenty–sixth in league age. Since all their players are so old they will have to bring in all new guys within just a few years. Cleveland, on the other hand, will have a young Quarterback of their choosing in the draft who is no older than 24 and this guy will be able to take a hit. The Browns also do not have to worry about players retiring as they are the youngest team in the NFL. This allows them to keep key players for many years to come. ... New England has traded away almost half of their picks in the upcoming draft, forcing them to have to deal with the fact of minimal rookies that can better their team for the future. Even, though inexperienced, young rookies have made the pro bowl and made other great accomplishments. This proves how important it is too keep fresh talent coming in. Anyone can see the Browns have plenty of fresh talent coming in. They have not traded away a single pick plus have more picks total than every other team. They total seven picks in the top 108 and twelve total. This shows they are well prepared to build there team for years to come. Pros To Patriots Essay Controversial end leads to Patriots win over Steelers, Refs gift Patriots game with this mind– boggling non catch, Questionable call takes lead away from Bills vs. Patriots, Controversial call vs. Jets leads to Patriots victory. These are just some of the controversial calls that favored the New England Patriots and ended up leading to a victory. If you are not a New England Patriots fan in this era, i'm sorry. The National Football League (NFL) has shown their love for the team along with all the referees and fans. Makes sense because of the market that the team gives the league. Tom Brady being the greatest quarterback of all–time and shattering records that athletes left behind after a career. Yet, Tom Brady, also known as the G.O.A.T, seems to be still in his prime after fifteen years in the league. The Patriots bring entertainment to the league. The New England Patriots came back from being down 28–3 to end up winning the Super Bowl against the Atlanta Falcons. The NFL has had many crazy games, but where did it all begin? The NFL, founded in 1920, has morphed greatly since the origin, and has immensely impacted the world of sports. The National Football League was officially founded on September 17, 1920 in Canton, Ohio. Ralph Hay, the owner of the Canton Bulldogs, is credited with the organizing of the meeting in which the NFL was agreed upon. • 17. Analysis Of The Book ' Tom Brady ' In the 2014 AFC Championship game between the Indianapolis Colts and the New England Patriots there was tampering with the footballs, which became known as Deflategate. NFL footballs are supposed to have a PSI (pounds per square inch) between 12.5 and 13.5. The New England Patriot's footballs at half time were lower than 12.5 and nobody knows how that happened and that's where the Deflategate Scandal was born. In the three articles I will be analyzing the three sides the Indianapolis Colts , the New England Patriots and the rest of America's point of views of the Deflategate scandal. Indianapolis Colts have an unbelievable disliking for the New England Patriots they have never liked them and never will. The article "Tom Brady, Deflategate villain" from the INDYSTAR uses pathos and ethos to get the point across to Colts fans. This article is meant for Colts fans because it shows a lot of hate toward Tom Brady. In the beginning of the article its starts off saying "It 's worse than we thought. Well, not it. Him. Tom Brady. He 's worse than we thought." This shows that the author already didn't like Tom Brady but after this came out on the news this pushed Colts fans over the top. This article shows that most of Indianapolis thinks Tom Brady cheated. In the article they are calling Tom Brady a Liar and saying that he is ultimately responsible for the deflation of the balls in the AFC Championship game. • 23. My Favorite Football Team Two years ago, my favorite football team the New England Patriots were having a pretty good season and they ended up doing so good that they made the playoffs. They kept it up in the playoffs and played just like they did in the regular season. The Patriots ended up going all the way to the Super Bowl. In the Super Bowl the Patriots were going to play the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks were also a really good team that year. The Seahawks were pretty good but I thought the Patriots were better. Me and my mom went to my uncle's house for a Super Bowl party that year. There were probably somewhere around twenty people at the Super Bowl party. There was a lot of food and things to do there but I was more focused on when the game was going to start. Once the game was about to start everyone found a seat and got ready for the game to begin. The game started off good, but neither team scored in the whole first quarter. The Patriots scored early in the second quarter and I thought it was going to be an easy win at the point for the Patriots. Towards the end of the second quarter the Seahawks also scored tying the game up. Then I knew the Patriots weren't going to win that easily and both teams were going to put up a fight throughout the whole game. With less than a minute to go in the second quarter the Patriots scored again making the score fourteen to seven. Then with only a couple seconds left in the quarter the Seahawks also scored once again tying the game. With the Patriots and Seahawks going back and forth I knew it was going to be a really good game and the Patriots were going to have to work extra hard to walk away with the win. So at halftime the score was tied up fourteen to fourteen, the Patriots and the Seahawks looked really even throughout the first half, but I still thought the Patriots were going to take the win. With the start of the second half the Seahawks got a field goal early. With that field goal the Seahawks were only winning by three by that point and I wasn't really worried. But later on in the third quarter the Seahawks scored a touchdown making the score twenty four to seventeen. With only fifteen minutes left to go in the biggest game of the year being down by ten didn't look good, but I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Not only does The Patriots have the most winningest quarterback in terms of super bowl wins, but Tom Brady as New England's quarterback has more super bowl championships won then twenty–eight other professional organizations in the NFL. As an illustration of the superior success that the Patriots have achieved statistics to back up my claim was gathered, "New England's regular–season winning percentage of .766 over these 16 seasons is the best of any team in league history in a span of at least 12 years." This statistic is dominant, this is a feat that has not been accomplished in over fifty years. Every team has to come up with good balance of rookies and veterans to meet salary cap. From players' perspective, in order to be compensated heavily they will go with the team who has fewer star performers. This can result in fewer victories under their belt, and can defame them in fewer seasons. This can also lead to short career timeframes. To rebuild damaged reputation players will quite often take less paying contracts from top performing teams. Such players will always work towards switching teams when lured with better packages. This will lead to higher attrition rate. This will also damage loyalty of players for teams and teams will face hard time retaining top performers. Salary Cap will also affect motivation of the players if they do not get what satisfy them. • 39. New England Patriots: The Value Of A Football Team I went to bed disappointed last night after my favored team, the Atlanta Falcons, allowed an NFL championship to slip from their grasp in the closing minutes of the game. I woke up this morning ready to take on the day without regard to who won or lost. It is a game and it is a game I love. But, I do not live or die by what happens on a football field. I did learn something about leadership however. The theme for the New England Patriots this year was "do your job." The premise is to focus on your responsibility, do it with excellence, and see it through. Don't be concerned about what others are supposed to be doing. "Do your job!" I have often stated that the greatest expertise lies in knowing how someone else should be doing their job. Whether it is a referee, a coach who makes a call we don't agree with, a president, our boss, or a CEO, we have a tendency to mentally (and sometimes verbally) critique and pontificate on how they can do their job better. It is so easy to be an expert on someone else's job when you have no personal responsibility or consequences for an opinion. Bill Belichick drove home to his team day in and day out to focus on their own job rather than the job or task that someone else has responsibility for. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 45. New England Patriots : 6-0 1. New England Patriots: 6–0 (1) For the third time in the Tom Brady era, the Patriots are 6–0. The other two times (2004 and 2007) the team went on to play in the Super Bowl era. Tom Brady is arguably playing the best football of his career. The team is extremely versatile, co constantly adapting their game plans to fit their opponents. One week after running up a storm against the Colts, the Patriots ran the ball a mere nine times, five oh which were by Tom Brady. The Patriots get better and better each week. The team continues to impress me. They have yet to be 100 percent healthy, and despite this, the team is clearly the best in the NFL. 2. Cincinnati Bengals: 6–0 (2) I say it every week and I'll say it again. I am all in on the Bengals this season. Andy Dalton has been spectacular thus far, throwing 14 touchdowns to just two interceptions. Of all the undefeated teams, the Bengals have been the most tested and it doesn't get any easier from here as the team's next two opponents are the Steelers and the Browns. 3. Green Bay Packers: 6–0 (3) Coming off of their bye week, the Packers finally have a chance to get healthy. Despite, an abundance of injuries the team has still looked like one of the best teams in the entire NFL. This week they are taking on another undefeated team in the Broncos. I would say this was the worst the Patriots have looked all season on offense and, despite this, they still scored 27 points easily. The team has scored in and NFL record 31 straight quarters. The one low spot for the Patriots is the loss of Dion Lewis, who is out of the remainder of the season with a torn ACL. Despite this awful news, I still believe the Patriots will finish 16–0. 2. Cincinnati Bengals: 8–0 (2) The "Andy Dalton Dud Game" still hasn't happened yet, and I don't think it will any time soon. This Bengals teams is much different than the Bengals teams of the previous four seasons. Dalton is playing at an all–time high level, the defense looks like one of best in the league, and they are one of the deepest teams in the league. At 8–0 the Bengals have some breathing room in the AFC North. They sit four games up in the loss column on the second place Steelers. 3. The main weakness of this campaign is the faith in the internet audience to be responsible with the opportunity to display something very publicly. • 63. Patriots : The Failure Of Football And The NFL he National Football League (NFL) is by far America's most popular sports league. Among the 32 clubs in the league, the New England Patriots are one of the most valuable franchises. From 2000 to 2014, the club claimed 12 division titles, played in nine AFC Conference Championship games, reached five Super Bowls, and lifted the Lombardi Trophy on three occasions. Along with winning, controversy follows closely behind, and the Patriots are not immune to it either. In 2007, the Patriots were caught illegally videotaping opponents, causing the NFL to fine the club and coach Bill Belichick, and taking a draft pick away (McNear, 2017). Ever since then, the Patriots have been under the microscope from the league, media, and fans. Then came January 18, 2015. The Patriots were hosting the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Championship game on a cool rainy Sunday evening. It was just a normal football game until halftime, were behind the scenes at Gillette Stadium, NFL officials were checking the air pressure of footballs. It was thought that the Patriots were deliberately deflating footballs. That moment spiraled into what many refer to as deflategate and becoming one of the leading stories not only in the sports world, but nationally, as NBC and CBS ran stories during their nightly telecast. One of the leading newspapers in the Boston area, the Boston Herald, had a very challenging task on their hands the week following the controversy and leading up to the Super Bowl–that is, how to ... • 69. New England Patriots Deflated Footballs I do believe that the New England Patriots deflated footballs in the American Football Conference championship game against the Indianapolis Colts. The game was held on January 18, 2015, at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts. The National Football League requires footballs to be inflated between 12.5 and 13.5 pounds per square inch of air (2016 NFL Rulebook). Before halftime the Colts' linebacker, D'Qwell Jackson, intercepted a pass from the Patriots' quarterback, Tom Brady. Later, Jackson said the football appeared spongy, which describes the texture of an underinflated ball (Deflategate Timeline). At halftime all twelve of the Patriots' footballs were measured, and all twelve were below the minimum pressure (Deflategate). After the game when the National Football League launched an investigation, they hired Ted Wells to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Before the report was published, the Patriots argued that the pressure gauges used to measure the footballs were inaccurate; however, during the testing two different gauges were used, and both were made by different companies (Deflategate). Also, the gauges were tested after the game, and both were determined to be accurate (Deflategate). The Patriots also argued that the pressure– temperature law was the cause of the low pressure in the footballs (Deflategate). This law, also known as Gay–Lussac's law, stated that a decrease in temperature would cause a decrease in pressure and vice–versa (ChemTeam: Gas Law – Gay–Lussac's Law). The Patriots said that according to this law when the footballs were brought outside in the cold air from the warm locker room, where the balls were inflated, the decrease in temperature caused a decrease in pressure (Deflategate). HeadSmart labs, a well–trusted scientific consulting group, stated that after accounting for all environmental factors present during the time of the game the pressure– temperature law could cause at most one and eight tenths pounds per square inch of air to be expelled from the ... • 71. The New England Patriots Played Against The Indianapolis... Introduction During the 2015 AFC Championship, the New England Patriots played against the Indianapolis Colts on January 18th in the Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, MA. Prior to halftime, however, the Colts brought suspicions of the Patriots having deflated their balls. They requested the pressures be checked at halftime. Two referees, Blakeman and Prioleau, each measured the pressure of both the Patriots' and the Colts' balls with separate gauges. The Officials came to the conclusion that all 11 of the patriots balls were underinflated, the required pressure being between 27.2–28.2 pounds per square inch (psi). Footballs from the colts were also being tested and appeared to be in the accepted range. This situation was temporarily postponed so the game could continue. The balls were filled to regulation pressure before restarting. The patriots went on to win 45–7. Shortly after, the media began to question the cause of the footballs being deflated. Detractors came to the conclusion they were merely deflated on purpose, while supporters thought they may have been affected by the cold temperatures that day, which were in the high forties. This lead to the NFL hiring the independent law firm, PWRWG, to further investigate. PWRWG is a science law firm which was assigned to determine if the footballs could infact have been affected by the weather alone. Using the universal gas law to solve for moles (n), it will be determined if gas was released. Data Pressure of the Patriots' ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 77. College Essay On Deflategate Title It all started on January eighteenth, 2015, in a NFL game. The New England Patriots versus the Indianapolis Colts. After an interception by the Colts, linebacker D'Qwell Jackson an equipment manager on the colts sideline measured the psi of the football and found they were underinflated. The allowed psi or pounds per square inch is 12.5 to 13.5. The Patriots balls checked in at 10.5 psi at halftime of the game when NFL officials checked. It was also stated that eleven of twelve footballs were underinflated. The deflation of these balls became one of the biggest scandals in sports for the next 8 months and it is known as deflategate. Deflategate is something minor that the media created and was made into a major deal. There are many flaws and successes in deflategate that will be discussed as Deflategate is picked apart from end to end.
