About The Company:
 India Today Group which is also known as Living Media is
an Indian media conglomerate based in New Delhi, India.
 It takes interests in magazines, newspapers, books, radio,
television, printing, and the internet.
 Today the group is India’s most diversified media group with
16 magazines, 1 radio stations, 2 TV channels, 1 newspaper,
multi web and mobile portals, a leading classical music label
and book publishing arm.
 The Group reaches out to 50 million individuals across the
Country.
History of the Company:
 The Company was founded in 1975 and is based in New
Delhi, India.
 India Today International was its first publication which
was a fortnightly news magazine.
 Aroon Purie’s father, Vidya Vilas Purie launched that
magazine.
 The magazine was launched at the time of Emergency.
About The Owner:
 Born in 1944, Aroon Purie who is founder, chairman and
chief executive of India Today Group.
 He is also the publisher and Editor in Chief of India Today
Group.
 He is also a member of various other committees and
organizations.
 He has received number of awards including Padma
Bhushan for his excellence in his industry.

a net loss of Rs. 22.45 crore (224 million) on revenues of
Rs. 321 crore as compared to a net profit of Rs. 14.34 crore
(Rs 143 million) on revenues of Rs. 355 crore (Rs. 3.55
billion) in the previous year.
 The Aditya Birla Group headed by Mangalam Birla had
bought 27.5% stake in India Today Group in may, 2012.

increased political interest because of the recognition of the

Economic: In the past few years the media industry has

industry is expected to grow by 16% in the current year.
Social: Media plays a big role in form information dissemination
to the people of India, which of late due to globalization have
developed a high infinite for information. . Even though the
Indians are known to be conservative and traditional they
