5. The POLO primarily handles the following:
(1) Violation of work contracts, conditions of employment such as non-
payment or underpayment of wages and other benefits. Illegal
dismissal and other similar cases;
(2) Violation of POEA rules and regulations;
(3) Provision of temporary shelter;
(4) Medical and hospital assistance;
(5) Repatriation of workers
(6) Human trafficking for labor exploitation/Trafficking in
persons/illegal recruitment and allied cases; and
(7) Other requests for assistance such as para-legal assistance and non-
performance of family obligations

6. REMEMBER: In cases involving criminal and/or police
matters and procedures, the POLO shall render
assistance at the initial contact with the concerned
worker but it shall endorse the said case to the
Assistance to Nationals (ATN) section of the PE/PCG.
