Read the Preamble in the book on pg. 280 and
then answer the following questions.
1. What are the six functions of the Constitution as
established in the Preamble.
2. Describe the meaning of those six functions in your
own words.
3. Pretend you are a citizen living on your family’s
farm growing corn and wheat during this time, who
was in favor of the Articles of Confederation. Write
a letter to your friend at the Constitutional
Convention and explain your concerns and
encouragements about the new Constitution
based on what is said in the Preamble.
