2. 5a) how did you attract/address your audience?
I have helped attract my audience by using different attributes such as straplines and
images (main image)
My main image shows “Mylo Blvckz” pointed to the left towards the straplines text on
my music magazine cover . This helps direct the audience towards the important
information (strap lines) regarding making money and introducing a competition to
see “Jay-z, T-pain and Lil Wayne” in concert. This will instantly attract my target
audience because most young boys are competitive and by using persuasive
language I am able to influence them to take part. This could also be linked to the
layout of my text, because my straplines are positioned on the left hand side it allows
my audience to find their way around my magazine easier and allow my artist to point
readers in the right direction. I have also used presentation to affect my target
audience of “young black boys” Because of the dark, masculine colours which I have
used such as black and grey throughout to attract males as these colours represent
the darker side of the music but also the strength of the male character is the brick
layer background it allows my magazine and contents page to look urban which will
relate to my target audience who could be protected within a urban environment
because a brick was could be represented as strong which also can describe “ young
black boys”. The use of a brick wall background helps me relate back to my particular
genre of RnB and Hip-Hop which was created within urban cities/ environments .
QUESTION 5A
3. 5b) in the second question I had to consider how I addressed my
target audience using colloquialisms this changed the language of
my text which associated with my target audience . I specifically had
to consider my language within the double page spread which I
created. I used words such as “Yo, sick, wicked” these are terms
which helped address my target audience which has allowed my
media products to directly focus on my audiences by. I also tried to
use different languages such as formal registers and spontaneous
speech, when writing my Interview for my double page spread. This
allowed my text to sound more natural and sound unplanned
because it created a fluency throughout my interview
