My Success: The Definition Of Success
Success is the reason why we wake up in the morning, it is the reason we want to work towards
our goals everyday. Most people don't know what success means to themselves because there is
no definition of success. Only you know what is important to yourself. Values change and so do
your goals meaning that the meaning of success changes every day. Success is measured in many
ways. By staying motivated and focused, it helps us feel some type of drive to reach our idea of
success. The feeling of excitement helps us constantly feel like we are becoming more and more
successful because we are getting positively reinforced by our work which keeps us working
towards our goals. This causes habit to always do the best we can to our abilities to be the...show

I was very involved in my school community and I got an award for showing excellence in the
things that I did for the school. I was on the rugby team for 4 years and by the end of the year I
had been rewarded with the Most Valuable Player award. I was also the captain of my team
which was a very big accomplishment. I had the opportunity to lead my team to the Central
Ontario Secondary School Association championship tournament which is the championship
tournament that gets the teams into the across Ontario championship title. Unfortunately, we did
not get first place but we did get third place. I still felt successful because along with myself, my
team was extremely proud of how far we got as a team. In my opinion the key to success is passion.
If we have strong feelings and we love what we do, the feeling of happiness will fill us. If we love
what we do it should be a heart filling feeling that makes us feel good on the inside which made us
feel successful in many ways. "Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success.
If you love what you are doing, you will be successful."– Herman

My Personal Success Profile
How do you think your personality is? Is it good, or is it bad? You may not know right now but I
know how mine is with the success profile I have done twice already this year. You can really see
the difference between the two. Some of the reasons behind this is because of JROTC, High school
and my friends.
The first success profiler I did had all the scores with my personality in the middle. Since I just
started JROTC that was the usual score. Then I started working hard in JROTC I did activities and
learned the creed. The creed helped me learn respect for myself and others and most importantly how
to treat everyone in the school. Also with JROTC I have been taught many ways to keep my anger
on a shelf and to not show my anger. My second success

Success And Personal Success
Success is more than the definition that society has created over the course of the years. Being
successful in society is very different than actually being successful in my opinion. Success in my
opinion is having the courage, strength and the ability to work hard towards your goals no matter
what. Also at the same time being humble and able to appreciate what you have accomplished by
not bragging your success to someone who is lesser than you. When I was young, I always wanted
to drive a brand new Land Rover and live in a mansion with my husband and kids. I was always
going to have the latest and greatest inventions and wear the best clothing brands. I would make sure
that my kids had everything that they needed and make sure that I...show more content...
I feel that I will be more successful and it will help me be more well rounded if I was able to study
abroad. Ultimately after college I want to be able to provide and take care of my own family. I also
want to be someone that my friends, co–workers and anyone around me will be able to count on me
no matter what. After I graduate from Endicott and receive my diploma, I will feel that I have
taken the right steps in being able to be one of the most successful. I want to be able to tell my
kids about all the great times I had at Endicott and how proud I am to have gone to such an
amazing school that has contributed to my success in so many ways. This will allow me to look
back and appreciate the friends I had made, the experiences I encountered, and the amazing
education I received. Endicott will help me succeed professionally in various ways. Since
Endicott is just twenty minutes from Boston and the best hospitals in the area there will be a lot
of internships that will be available to me. When I walk into these internships on my first day, I
will be excited for the work force in the moment and for after my education at Endicott. I feel that
I will be better prepared for the real world work force compared to most of the other college students.
I will have the knowledge and experience to succeed in whatever path I choose to take later on in
life. For me to be truly successful in life, I feel that it is when I give my best, and know I have tried
my hardest. Endicott

Personal values and ethics govern personal success and have an impact on career success. Everyone
has their own set of values and ethics that have been taught throughout life. Personal values and
ethics are learned behaviors, hence, some are easy to understand and apply, some can be acquired,
and each compliments the other. Values andethics can carry consequences. Therefore, if one applies
the practices, they can succeed. If one ignores or violates the practices, one will find themselves in
the position of self loathing, stress, or in a bad situation. These values and ethics carry over into our
professional lives as we go into our careers.
Value is a term that expresses the concept of worth in general, according to Wordiq (2010) and it

Ethics are your sense of duty, accountability for your actions, expected performance, and moral
obligations. To this end, ethics is an inward monitor of self. It is how people behave in the face of
difficult situations that test their moral make up. Values and ethics are but an intrinsic measurement
of good and bad or right and wrong. Values and ethics incorporate a cornucopia of beliefs,
conscience, integrity, morals, principles, and values.
Let us look at some examples where values and ethics in a work place that have either had an
excellent outcome or have caused unacceptable outcomes.
An example of exceptional values and ethics that comes to mind is that of Craftsman Industries, Inc.
Craftsman Industries, Inc have been in business since 1977 the have had the same motto since the
day they started. Their motto is "Precision, Quality, and Prompt Delivery" The fact that they have
stuck to and carried out their motto it has made their company "The Machinist Choice". (Craftsman

at their customers' needs and do their best to give them what they need.
An example that comes to mind of unacceptable values and ethics is that of what happened at Enron.
Those that were in charge used bad judgment costing them their jobs and possible jail time for fraud
and conspiracy. (SmartPros,2006). Kenneth Lay

An important step in achieving professional and personal success is to create a personal strategic
plan. Through developing a personal mission statement and a personal vision statement, it is
possible to visualize the track toward success in achieving personal goals. A personal strategic plan

my current job, I see what is important for success and advancement.

Personal Success Interview
Possibly my favorite part of the research process was the interview portion. I interviewed Mr.
Aaron Fischer, superintendent of the Esko Public School district. I decided to interview him
because, as a superintendent, he seems to be a pretty successful person. I thought he would have
some interesting insight on success. A few questions into the interview he said something that
interested me. When I asked if the word changed meaning for him now that he is older his reply
was that when he was younger, he was focused on his own personal success (as most young
people are). Whereas now, he is focused on the success of the students at Esko, the success of his
kids, and the success of his family as a whole. Does this mean that success not only differs from
person to person, but within different age groups?...show more content...
Fischer how the word has affected his personal and professional life his answer sounded like
something a superintendent would say. "Success has been an important part of my professional
career because I work in a school setting and our goal is to help kids be successful; to have success.
It's very crucial to what I do everyday to try and build a program and a school district that will
enable people to have success." It seems clear that he really is focused on the success of the
students over his own personal success. This interview made me wonder how old a person has to
be, or what experiences in life a person has to endure in order to decide the success of others is
more important than that of their own. Is it occupational? When a person starts a family? My next
interview offered more insight to the answer of that

My Definition of Success Essay example
"Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value."
– Albert Einstein ––
My personal definition would not include "stuff" at all. No one will care (and neither will you)
what kind of car your drove or how big your house was when you're on your deathbed. Your
thoughts will not be about your job, the office or how much money you made.
Personal success is defined by how content and enjoyable your life is. That is not to say that
challenges and disappointments aren't included in this. A rich, eventful and challenging life doing
what you enjoy and positively affecting others seems to me to be just about right. Find a job you

Past, present and future are all important to keep in perspective. Looking back and not having regrets
is extremely satisfying. Your current situation and your contentment with it are also very important,
and having goals and milestones to work toward in the future keeps you motivated and keeps life
interesting and challenging.
In this age in which we live, success is generally measured by the amount of money you earn, or
the amount of wealth or power or number of promotions you've accumulated. I find that the older I
grow, the more I view the people who are most happy and content with their lives as the most
successful. Rich, poor or in between, they've tended to treat life as a journey, not a final destination.
They took that trip when they were 25 even though they really couldn't afford it, they ordered the
$55 bottle of wine with their filet because they knew that even though it was expensive it would
enhance the meal so much more than water would. They took a chance on a start–up company,
moved to Europe or Asia and experienced things that most people only dream about. If they managed
to grow wealthy from the experience, so much the better. As long as moderation with most things is
practiced, things won't spin out of control.
Bottom line rules for a successful life:
Always try new things.
Listen twice as much as you talk.
Travel as much as you can comfortably afford.
Faith and family always come first –

Perseverance Essay
What is perseverance? Perseverance is the ability to go on when things seem hopeless. It is also a
measure of success, or at least how much sacrifice one is willing to make in the name of success.
As students, it is impossible to achieve personal success without having a goal, or direction. The
goal and direction that often propels us to achieve is perseverance. Perseverance is the ability to
forge ahead despite setbacks that threaten to undermine all efforts to succeed.
We are high school students and that means that the sense of urgency to strive for and to achieve
personal success is now. With this urgency comes the expectation of having to persevere. This year
has not been as easy one for us as a school body. We have been...show more content...
There is no shame in falling; the shame is in accepting the the fall as defeat. Nelson Mandella once
said, "The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time you fall." That is
the essence of persevering––finding the will to get up even though you know you are being counted
out.
Each day is a challenge for some of us. Some of you struggle to get up each morning and make it
to school. But you find it within yourself to do because the hope of a better tomorrow compels
you to do so. It is not easy to explain to teachers or other students that there was no one to wake
you up and see that you were ready for school. The moment you leave your house and step on the
bus, you are one step closer to realizing your dream, to fulfilling your purpose. That is what
perseverance is. It is the finding the strength to do the impossible because you know that all
things are possible. It is understanding that your tomorrow has great possibilities because of the
steps you take today. I had a neighbor whose parents were divorced, but it seems like both parents
divorced her. Her mother had custody, but she was seldom around. My friend raised herself. She
gave a whole new meaning to the phrase "putting yourself through school", but she was in middle
school. However, she had a dream of something better and it was evident that it required
self–motivation and determination.

Personal Essay: My Definition Of Success
Even though the entire universe thinks that you need to have the money to be successful, well
that is so untrue because you do not need to have the money I think you would need knowledge.
My definition of success would be knowledge and fame. First, I believe that success is defined
when a person has knowledge in some shape or form. Second, Iaasic Newton is a fantastic
example of knowledge and fame because he is just so famous at this time. Mary Currie is another
great example of knowledge and fame she is also famous in this time. Therefore, to be successful I
think we need to be familiar instead of having all the fame and fortune because without knowledge
we would not know how to do the things that we want to do in the future. As a matter

Looking back at the past eleven weeks I have grown and learned so much here at Ashford

successful in my life, but I definitely have proved, myself wrong. I love knowing that I am doing
great and I really try to do my best in completing my homework on time, with the occasions of a few
speed bumps along the way.
I decided to return to school to further my education for many important reasons. I have struggled

I decided to just go for it and I am so glad I did because I know now that I have overcome that fear
and I feel as if I can accomplish anything and everything. I can also say that I have matured in
many ways as a mother, first time college student, and being a single mother of five. My kids had
to adjust to the new routine as well. They did not understand at first but eventually they came
around and little by little they gave me the time I needed to study and do homework. I still have to
overcome a few obstacles in order to complete my degree program, just like I had to overcome all
the changes that come with me returning to school.
One of the main obstacles I must achieve here at Ashford University is to listen, learn, and to be
obedient in all the discussions and the assignments asked of me. Last but not least I have to say I
have to overcome all negative feelings I get from time to time to complete all my educational
goals. I need to be prepared mentally and physically for anything that is being asked of me from
my instructors. I feel that I need to keep an open mind as well because I know all the feedback
from classmates and instructors will be of great help in making me a better person and learner.
There are a few things I must do to overcome all these certain obstacles here in college in order to
have a successful completion of my degree.
I will have to keep doing all these helpful strategies that have gotten me this far. For example, using

Introduction Graduate school enhances the opportunity for an individual to achieve his or her
personal and professional goals. The skills and knowledge acquired from graduate school are
instrumental in career development; hence, one should pay close attention to the lessons learned in
the quest for a master's degree. However, graduate school is never free of challenges. There are
many challenges associated with the pursuit of a master's degree, and they start at the school
application process. The challenges that one faces in graduate school may be intellectual or
emotional. This paper focuses on some of the challenges associated with going to graduate school,
and how I plan to overcome them as I pursue success in graduate school.
Personal and professional goals My personal goal is to become a public health nurse. My short–term
goal is to graduate with a 1st class honours distinction. It has always been my goal to excel in
everything I do, and I am committed to demonstrating the will to succeed with the highest

Reflective Essay On Personal Success
There is a connection between personal success and the factors that are present in the beginning,
during, and those that develop along the way to guarantee success. Intrinsic motivation,
self–efficacy, time management, and academic preparation are pertinent factors and play an
imperative role. To prevent mymotivation from burning out in this program, my program, I
perceive it as many minor tasks that involve careful planning, hours of nurture, and different
degrees of time management. Keeping my eyes on the little goals that I will accomplish along
the way will lead to the grand goal: my Master's in English. Reminding myself of past educational
accomplishments like when I was a single parent and was borrowing loan after loan to complete
my degrees serves as a daily motivator. A recent preview of my future courses also sparked a fire
in my soul and enthusiasm. This program will also involve stress. Something that I do not always
handle well, but avoiding too much on my plate, asking for help from my family, professors, and
seeking the help of the Writing Center Tutors and Library personnel, to name a few, assists in
minimizing the stress and prevents me from losing concentration. Spreading out my reading,
assessments, writing assignments into smaller tasks lets me focus on quality. For example, this
self–assessment report I approached it in segments that involved developing it one paragraph at a
time. I spread out the work versus trying to tackle it all at once.

My Personal Success : My Philosophy Of Success
Success can mean different things to different people. The definition of success can change for a
person at different stages of their life. A person's culture, family, friends, experiences, and
environment can be a big influence on defining what success is to that individual. We all hear the
stories of people failing and failing until one day they make it to the top, beat the bad guy or pass
the trial. The story can also go that they got all they desired or raised up from the ashes. All of these
have one thing in common, it is at the end of the story. It's never the beginning or middle. It's always
at the end of the story that the person succeeds in their quest. But why does it have to be at the
end? Simply, like how there is no good without evil. You can not have succeed without struggling
and failing first. My philosophy of success is simply being content with your life. To me
personality, I still do not know what contentment is to me and that's fine. I can guess it is being
independent, with a job I am passionate about and surrounded by people that truly care about me.
Success is finding that point in life that, if things stayed like how they are at this moment then it
would be alright. I'm not saying to stop improving yourself or that after that point nothing bad or
better will happen. People should always try to improve themselves and in reality, bad things will
always happen at one point. Therefor my philosophy is to work towards that feeling of contentment.

be the simplest choice. Furthermore, I find the idea of learning and expressing that knowledge
through other outlets besides worksheets most satisfying. I also love art and would love to be
able to utilize that creative side of myself. If I were to create an art piece it would most likely be a
painting representing the task at hand in an abstract way. Ultimately my decision will come down
to the amount of effort I wish to express on the project. Therefore, if I plan accordingly and don't
put it off I should be able to execute either perfectly.

Personal Success Stratergies
After recently completing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, even though this

afraid this is just the lull before the storm. Discussion board postings, research papers,

important learning expects that are of this program that are waiting just over the horizon.
Organization will be a key factor in staying on task each week. I like several others, still hold fast
to my trusty three ring binders where I keep the items I deem most important readily at hand for
frequent review. My one item that I cannot manage to convert entirely to an electronic format is my
calendar; I prefer to have a paper print–out in the front of each class binder where I can list each
assignment on the day it is due. I have my own color–coding system to keep on track. Then I check
each item off as it is completed, I have a quick visual confirmation, as well as a sense of
accomplishment with just a quick glance when I see tasks marked off. In regards to time
management, I am lucky enough now to have a home office that I only have to share with my two
cats. They do love to commander space on the desk near a warm computer and can be vocal task
masters when their bowls are empty, but otherwise are good company. I would like to remind

My Success : My Personal Success Story Of Success
Life is made up of many successes. Some are very small, like remembering someone's name, and
some are huge like graduating college. All of them take dedication and effort to achieve what
you want to succeed with. To be successful in doing something, you must want it and believe in
yourself to do it. My personal success story is rather deep. I have succeeded in being confident for
who I am. It's not something that happens overnight. It took time and assurance to get where I am
today with my confidence. There have been some interruptions, I have doubted myself a few
times, and those people who have tried to knock me down. Fortunately, I was strong enough and
did not let that affect me. I had to search for what made me comfortable and in what setting that
was. I had to surround myself with positive energy and people who I trusted in helping me reach
my goal. This story starts back to the start of middle school. Sixth grade was a brand–new
experience. My school was quite small, so everyone in my grade saw each other daily. We were
met with the different clicks (jocks, nerds, those obsessed with Disney, etc.) At first, I was
hanging out with two friends who were cheerleaders. They had slim bodies, muscles, a pretty face,
and were always outgoing. Me on the other hand, I was average sized, didn't eat healthy foods or
workout, I was cursed with acne, and I was, and still am, extremely introverted. I was not confident
in myself when I realized people can be hurtful and put you

Personal success is something many strive for. For myself, personal success consists of being
financially stable, content of my everyday routine, always seeking greater opportunities, and being
able to travel the world to experience different environments. In my eyes, personal success is
something that others will admire you for. If others are talking about my success, that is something
to be proud of. Many of these points stem from the career I decide to pursue. A career is the
foundation for personal success, it is where unlimited time is spent. Moreover, two career choices
have always been of interest to me, those being: accounting and clinical psychology, and both for
different reasons. They are each very different career choices and have with their own benefits.

Personal Success Essay

  • 1. My Success: The Definition Of Success Success is the reason why we wake up in the morning, it is the reason we want to work towards our goals everyday. Most people don't know what success means to themselves because there is no definition of success. Only you know what is important to yourself. Values change and so do your goals meaning that the meaning of success changes every day. Success is measured in many ways. By staying motivated and focused, it helps us feel some type of drive to reach our idea of success. The feeling of excitement helps us constantly feel like we are becoming more and more successful because we are getting positively reinforced by our work which keeps us working towards our goals. This causes habit to always do the best we can to our abilities to be the...show more content... I was very involved in my school community and I got an award for showing excellence in the things that I did for the school. I was on the rugby team for 4 years and by the end of the year I had been rewarded with the Most Valuable Player award. I was also the captain of my team which was a very big accomplishment. I had the opportunity to lead my team to the Central Ontario Secondary School Association championship tournament which is the championship tournament that gets the teams into the across Ontario championship title. Unfortunately, we did not get first place but we did get third place. I still felt successful because along with myself, my team was extremely proud of how far we got as a team. In my opinion the key to success is passion. If we have strong feelings and we love what we do, the feeling of happiness will fill us. If we love what we do it should be a heart filling feeling that makes us feel good on the inside which made us feel successful in many ways. "Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful."– Herman Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. My Personal Success Profile How do you think your personality is? Is it good, or is it bad? You may not know right now but I know how mine is with the success profile I have done twice already this year. You can really see the difference between the two. Some of the reasons behind this is because of JROTC, High school and my friends. The first success profiler I did had all the scores with my personality in the middle. Since I just started JROTC that was the usual score. Then I started working hard in JROTC I did activities and learned the creed. The creed helped me learn respect for myself and others and most importantly how to treat everyone in the school. Also with JROTC I have been taught many ways to keep my anger on a shelf and to not show my anger. My second success Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Success And Personal Success Success is more than the definition that society has created over the course of the years. Being successful in society is very different than actually being successful in my opinion. Success in my opinion is having the courage, strength and the ability to work hard towards your goals no matter what. Also at the same time being humble and able to appreciate what you have accomplished by not bragging your success to someone who is lesser than you. When I was young, I always wanted to drive a brand new Land Rover and live in a mansion with my husband and kids. I was always going to have the latest and greatest inventions and wear the best clothing brands. I would make sure that my kids had everything that they needed and make sure that I...show more content... I feel that I will be more successful and it will help me be more well rounded if I was able to study abroad. Ultimately after college I want to be able to provide and take care of my own family. I also want to be someone that my friends, co–workers and anyone around me will be able to count on me no matter what. After I graduate from Endicott and receive my diploma, I will feel that I have taken the right steps in being able to be one of the most successful. I want to be able to tell my kids about all the great times I had at Endicott and how proud I am to have gone to such an amazing school that has contributed to my success in so many ways. This will allow me to look back and appreciate the friends I had made, the experiences I encountered, and the amazing education I received. Endicott will help me succeed professionally in various ways. Since Endicott is just twenty minutes from Boston and the best hospitals in the area there will be a lot of internships that will be available to me. When I walk into these internships on my first day, I will be excited for the work force in the moment and for after my education at Endicott. I feel that I will be better prepared for the real world work force compared to most of the other college students. I will have the knowledge and experience to succeed in whatever path I choose to take later on in life. For me to be truly successful in life, I feel that it is when I give my best, and know I have tried my hardest. Endicott Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Personal values and ethics govern personal success and have an impact on career success. Everyone has their own set of values and ethics that have been taught throughout life. Personal values and ethics are learned behaviors, hence, some are easy to understand and apply, some can be acquired, and each compliments the other. Values andethics can carry consequences. Therefore, if one applies the practices, they can succeed. If one ignores or violates the practices, one will find themselves in the position of self loathing, stress, or in a bad situation. These values and ethics carry over into our professional lives as we go into our careers. Value is a term that expresses the concept of worth in general, according to Wordiq (2010) and it ...show more content... Ethics are your sense of duty, accountability for your actions, expected performance, and moral obligations. To this end, ethics is an inward monitor of self. It is how people behave in the face of difficult situations that test their moral make up. Values and ethics are but an intrinsic measurement of good and bad or right and wrong. Values and ethics incorporate a cornucopia of beliefs, conscience, integrity, morals, principles, and values. Let us look at some examples where values and ethics in a work place that have either had an excellent outcome or have caused unacceptable outcomes. An example of exceptional values and ethics that comes to mind is that of Craftsman Industries, Inc. Craftsman Industries, Inc have been in business since 1977 the have had the same motto since the day they started. Their motto is "Precision, Quality, and Prompt Delivery" The fact that they have stuck to and carried out their motto it has made their company "The Machinist Choice". (Craftsman Industries, Inc., 1999–2009). Their values and ethics from day one and into today is that they look at their customers' needs and do their best to give them what they need. An example that comes to mind of unacceptable values and ethics is that of what happened at Enron. Those that were in charge used bad judgment costing them their jobs and possible jail time for fraud and conspiracy. (SmartPros,2006). Kenneth Lay Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Imagine if by accomplishing this goal or this outcome; Would it take anything away from who you are? Is there any excuse you can make right now that will stop your from accomplishing that goal? A single key in achieving any objective and activating your blueprint is to maintain your objective in mind, keep it in your minds eye. Through developing a personal mission statement and a personal vision statement, it is possible to visualize the track toward success in achieving personal goals. A personal strategic plan changes over time, as goals are met and personal growth is made. As I move into my second year in my current job, I see what is important for success and advancement. • 7. Personal Success Interview Possibly my favorite part of the research process was the interview portion. I interviewed Mr. Aaron Fischer, superintendent of the Esko Public School district. I decided to interview him because, as a superintendent, he seems to be a pretty successful person. I thought he would have some interesting insight on success. A few questions into the interview he said something that interested me. When I asked if the word changed meaning for him now that he is older his reply was that when he was younger, he was focused on his own personal success (as most young people are). Whereas now, he is focused on the success of the students at Esko, the success of his kids, and the success of his family as a whole. Does this mean that success not only differs from person to person, but within different age groups?...show more content... Fischer how the word has affected his personal and professional life his answer sounded like something a superintendent would say. "Success has been an important part of my professional career because I work in a school setting and our goal is to help kids be successful; to have success. It's very crucial to what I do everyday to try and build a program and a school district that will enable people to have success." It seems clear that he really is focused on the success of the students over his own personal success. This interview made me wonder how old a person has to be, or what experiences in life a person has to endure in order to decide the success of others is more important than that of their own. Is it occupational? When a person starts a family? My next interview offered more insight to the answer of that Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. My Definition of Success Essay example "Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value." – Albert Einstein –– My personal definition would not include "stuff" at all. No one will care (and neither will you) what kind of car your drove or how big your house was when you're on your deathbed. Your thoughts will not be about your job, the office or how much money you made. Personal success is defined by how content and enjoyable your life is. That is not to say that challenges and disappointments aren't included in this. A rich, eventful and challenging life doing what you enjoy and positively affecting others seems to me to be just about right. Find a job you love and you'll never work another day in your life. I know I won't. In my...show more content... Past, present and future are all important to keep in perspective. Looking back and not having regrets is extremely satisfying. Your current situation and your contentment with it are also very important, and having goals and milestones to work toward in the future keeps you motivated and keeps life interesting and challenging. In this age in which we live, success is generally measured by the amount of money you earn, or the amount of wealth or power or number of promotions you've accumulated. I find that the older I grow, the more I view the people who are most happy and content with their lives as the most successful. Rich, poor or in between, they've tended to treat life as a journey, not a final destination. They took that trip when they were 25 even though they really couldn't afford it, they ordered the $55 bottle of wine with their filet because they knew that even though it was expensive it would enhance the meal so much more than water would. They took a chance on a start–up company, moved to Europe or Asia and experienced things that most people only dream about. If they managed to grow wealthy from the experience, so much the better. As long as moderation with most things is practiced, things won't spin out of control. Bottom line rules for a successful life: Always try new things. Listen twice as much as you talk. Travel as much as you can comfortably afford. Faith and family always come first – Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Perseverance Essay What is perseverance? Perseverance is the ability to go on when things seem hopeless. It is also a measure of success, or at least how much sacrifice one is willing to make in the name of success. As students, it is impossible to achieve personal success without having a goal, or direction. The goal and direction that often propels us to achieve is perseverance. Perseverance is the ability to forge ahead despite setbacks that threaten to undermine all efforts to succeed. We are high school students and that means that the sense of urgency to strive for and to achieve personal success is now. With this urgency comes the expectation of having to persevere. This year has not been as easy one for us as a school body. We have been...show more content... There is no shame in falling; the shame is in accepting the the fall as defeat. Nelson Mandella once said, "The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time you fall." That is the essence of persevering––finding the will to get up even though you know you are being counted out. Each day is a challenge for some of us. Some of you struggle to get up each morning and make it to school. But you find it within yourself to do because the hope of a better tomorrow compels you to do so. It is not easy to explain to teachers or other students that there was no one to wake you up and see that you were ready for school. The moment you leave your house and step on the bus, you are one step closer to realizing your dream, to fulfilling your purpose. That is what perseverance is. It is the finding the strength to do the impossible because you know that all things are possible. It is understanding that your tomorrow has great possibilities because of the steps you take today. I had a neighbor whose parents were divorced, but it seems like both parents divorced her. Her mother had custody, but she was seldom around. My friend raised herself. She gave a whole new meaning to the phrase "putting yourself through school", but she was in middle school. However, she had a dream of something better and it was evident that it required self–motivation and determination. We have all been called upon Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Personal Essay: My Definition Of Success Even though the entire universe thinks that you need to have the money to be successful, well that is so untrue because you do not need to have the money I think you would need knowledge. My definition of success would be knowledge and fame. First, I believe that success is defined when a person has knowledge in some shape or form. Second, Iaasic Newton is a fantastic example of knowledge and fame because he is just so famous at this time. Mary Currie is another great example of knowledge and fame she is also famous in this time. Therefore, to be successful I think we need to be familiar instead of having all the fame and fortune because without knowledge we would not know how to do the things that we want to do in the future. My Success Story Essay My success to education Blondie Torres ENG. 121 Concetta Williams July 18, 2011 Looking back at the past eleven weeks I have grown and learned so much here at Ashford University. I never thought that I would actually accomplish my educational dreams and be successful in my life, but I definitely have proved, myself wrong. I love knowing that I am doing great and I really try to do my best in completing my homework on time, with the occasions of a few speed bumps along the way. I decided to return to school to further my education for many important reasons. I have struggled tremendously in the past with my five children and I wanted to change that life style for good. I am so very tired of trying to make ends meet and not...show more content... I decided to just go for it and I am so glad I did because I know now that I have overcome that fear and I feel as if I can accomplish anything and everything. I can also say that I have matured in many ways as a mother, first time college student, and being a single mother of five. My kids had to adjust to the new routine as well. They did not understand at first but eventually they came around and little by little they gave me the time I needed to study and do homework. I still have to overcome a few obstacles in order to complete my degree program, just like I had to overcome all the changes that come with me returning to school. One of the main obstacles I must achieve here at Ashford University is to listen, learn, and to be obedient in all the discussions and the assignments asked of me. Last but not least I have to say I have to overcome all negative feelings I get from time to time to complete all my educational goals. I need to be prepared mentally and physically for anything that is being asked of me from my instructors. I feel that I need to keep an open mind as well because I know all the feedback from classmates and instructors will be of great help in making me a better person and learner. There are a few things I must do to overcome all these certain obstacles here in college in order to have a successful completion of my degree. I will have to keep doing all these helpful strategies that have gotten me this far. For example, using the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The skills and knowledge acquired from graduate school are instrumental in career development; hence, one should pay close attention to the lessons learned in the quest for a master's degree. • 14. Reflective Essay On Personal Success There is a connection between personal success and the factors that are present in the beginning, during, and those that develop along the way to guarantee success. Intrinsic motivation, self–efficacy, time management, and academic preparation are pertinent factors and play an imperative role. To prevent mymotivation from burning out in this program, my program, I perceive it as many minor tasks that involve careful planning, hours of nurture, and different degrees of time management. Keeping my eyes on the little goals that I will accomplish along the way will lead to the grand goal: my Master's in English. Reminding myself of past educational accomplishments like when I was a single parent and was borrowing loan after loan to complete my degrees serves as a daily motivator. A recent preview of my future courses also sparked a fire in my soul and enthusiasm. This program will also involve stress. Something that I do not always handle well, but avoiding too much on my plate, asking for help from my family, professors, and seeking the help of the Writing Center Tutors and Library personnel, to name a few, assists in minimizing the stress and prevents me from losing concentration. Spreading out my reading, assessments, writing assignments into smaller tasks lets me focus on quality. For example, this self–assessment report I approached it in segments that involved developing it one paragraph at a time. I spread out the work versus trying to tackle it all at once. • 15. My Personal Success : My Philosophy Of Success Success can mean different things to different people. The definition of success can change for a person at different stages of their life. A person's culture, family, friends, experiences, and environment can be a big influence on defining what success is to that individual. We all hear the stories of people failing and failing until one day they make it to the top, beat the bad guy or pass the trial. The story can also go that they got all they desired or raised up from the ashes. All of these have one thing in common, it is at the end of the story. It's never the beginning or middle. It's always at the end of the story that the person succeeds in their quest. But why does it have to be at the end? Simply, like how there is no good without evil. You can not have succeed without struggling and failing first. My philosophy of success is simply being content with your life. To me personality, I still do not know what contentment is to me and that's fine. I can guess it is being independent, with a job I am passionate about and surrounded by people that truly care about me. Success is finding that point in life that, if things stayed like how they are at this moment then it would be alright. I'm not saying to stop improving yourself or that after that point nothing bad or better will happen. People should always try to improve themselves and in reality, bad things will always happen at one point. Therefor my philosophy is to work towards that feeling of contentment. • 16. Personal Success Project For my Personal Success Project, I'm currently bouncing around the possibilities of either a poem or piece of artwork. I'm very interested in both reading and writing poetry so I think that would be the simplest choice. Furthermore, I find the idea of learning and expressing that knowledge through other outlets besides worksheets most satisfying. I also love art and would love to be able to utilize that creative side of myself. If I were to create an art piece it would most likely be a painting representing the task at hand in an abstract way. Ultimately my decision will come down to the amount of effort I wish to express on the project. Therefore, if I plan accordingly and don't put it off I should be able to execute either perfectly. • 17. Personal Success Stratergies After recently completing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, even though this week has been very hectic with acclimating myself to the electronic learning environment, I am afraid this is just the lull before the storm. Discussion board postings, research papers, presentations, developing WIKI pages, and if I read correctly even learning how to blog are important learning expects that are of this program that are waiting just over the horizon. Organization will be a key factor in staying on task each week. I like several others, still hold fast to my trusty three ring binders where I keep the items I deem most important readily at hand for frequent review. My one item that I cannot manage to convert entirely to an electronic format is my calendar; I prefer to have a paper print–out in the front of each class binder where I can list each assignment on the day it is due. I have my own color–coding system to keep on track. Then I check each item off as it is completed, I have a quick visual confirmation, as well as a sense of accomplishment with just a quick glance when I see tasks marked off. In regards to time management, I am lucky enough now to have a home office that I only have to share with my two cats. They do love to commander space on the desk near a warm computer and can be vocal task masters when their bowls are empty, but otherwise are good company. I would like to remind everyone that although education is a worthy pursuit and will demand Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 19. My Success : My Personal Success Story Of Success Life is made up of many successes. Some are very small, like remembering someone's name, and some are huge like graduating college. All of them take dedication and effort to achieve what you want to succeed with. To be successful in doing something, you must want it and believe in yourself to do it. My personal success story is rather deep. I have succeeded in being confident for who I am. It's not something that happens overnight. It took time and assurance to get where I am today with my confidence. There have been some interruptions, I have doubted myself a few times, and those people who have tried to knock me down. Fortunately, I was strong enough and did not let that affect me. I had to search for what made me comfortable and in what setting that was. I had to surround myself with positive energy and people who I trusted in helping me reach my goal. This story starts back to the start of middle school. Sixth grade was a brand–new experience. My school was quite small, so everyone in my grade saw each other daily. We were met with the different clicks (jocks, nerds, those obsessed with Disney, etc.) At first, I was hanging out with two friends who were cheerleaders. They had slim bodies, muscles, a pretty face, and were always outgoing. Me on the other hand, I was average sized, didn't eat healthy foods or workout, I was cursed with acne, and I was, and still am, extremely introverted. I was not confident in myself when I realized people can be hurtful and put you Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. Personal Success Research Paper Personal success is something many strive for. For myself, personal success consists of being financially stable, content of my everyday routine, always seeking greater opportunities, and being able to travel the world to experience different environments. In my eyes, personal success is something that others will admire you for. If others are talking about my success, that is something to be proud of. Many of these points stem from the career I decide to pursue. A career is the foundation for personal success, it is where unlimited time is spent. Moreover, two career choices have always been of interest to me, those being: accounting and clinical psychology, and both for different reasons. They are each very different career choices and have with their own benefits. Overall, the decision was easy when it came down to what I wanted out of a profession. With that said, clinical psychology is a field that requires a lot of time and dedication. Conversely, in the end, I may get nothing out of it.
