I created this webquest for a class project. This webquest is meant for a career class and can be used with high school juniors and seniors and college level students. Learners will create LinkedIn accounts, develop their profiles, join groups, follow companies, follow schools, and look at job opportunities in their field. This webquest will help learners find out more about the job fields, companies, and schools they are interested in as well as develop a professional profile, begin to network, and to really start thinking about their future.

Essential Question: How can LinkedIn help you professionally?
Learners:
o The learners are in 11th/12th grade. This webquest is for a high school career class.
Learners are of mixed ethnicity, race, learning styles, and learning abilities. Two
learners in the class have ADHD and one student is Gifted.
o A common misconception about LinkedIn is that its main use is for finding and
applying for jobs and most people who use it are ready to start a career.
o Students know how to create online accounts and search for things on the web.

Justification
You are going to justify why and how you are creating the Webquest. Remember it you
justify it, you are more likely able to do it.
Habits of Mind –
o Two Habits of the Mind and quotes for each one.
Questioning and Posing Problems:
"Curiosity is the wick in the candle of learning."
William Arthur Ward
Gather Data Through All Senses:
“It's not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.“
Henry David Thoraeu
Questioning and posing problems and gather data through all senses are two habits of
the mind that will help me create this webquest and help learners complete this webquest.
The quote “Curiosity is the wick in the candle of learning” applies to the thinking students

will use to reach the objectives because this webquest requires students to research job
opportunities, schools, companies, and groups on LinkedIn. It is important that students
keep and open mind and research things that they are interested in or curious about. The
quote “It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see” applies to the thinking
students will use to reach the objectives because it is important that they really pay
attention to the things they research. For example, students should read the group
description before joining a group and not just join a group because they like the name.

Differentiated Instruction
Webquests help differentiate instruction because students are able to work more on their
own pace. Students can work at all different paces as they move through webquests. The
differentiation will help the two students who have ADHD and the one student who is
Gifted. The students with ADHD can take small breaks while working when they start to
lose focus. The Gifted student can work ahead in the webquest.
Webquest Research
Why use a webquest? Look at the research that you and others added to the Webquest
Research Document in Google Docs to help you. Remember to reference your sources.
Webquests are great for collaborate and group work. Using webquests is also a great way
to differentiate instruction because students can work at different paces. Webquests can be
used to apply concepts in real world situations and problems as well as explore real world
issues.
