0 Assessments in DeKalb County Schools are mandated by
law. The purpose of the assessments are to allow the
public, legislators, parents, or other interested personal
to view how well the students are performing compared
to other students in the county, country or nation
("DeKalb County Schools", 2012). Also the standardize
tests gives principals and teachers a diagnosis of the skill
set of the children they will be teaching. It helps identify
strengths and weaknesses of the students in order to
establish priorities in planning improvements for
educational programs.

There is a tremendous amount of students failing standardize
testing in DeKalb County, why?

data analysis.

email address.
0 Submitted back to: The Department of Research and Evaluation. It
conducts district-wide surveys and data collection for instructional
improvement and planning initiatives; coordinates and manages
requests to conduct educational research; compiles reviews of
literature and identifies current trends in education to support the
superintendent in planning for the future; provides research
consultation to schools, departments, and professional staff.
