Title: The influence of media on the food culture of a community or place.
Main Research Question:
How media has changed the lifestyle in the food industry?
Objectives:
1. To understand the pattern of food consumption of different groups of age
or interest in relation to culture and architecture.
2. To investigate the community’s response towards the effect of media on
food.
3. To learn about the community’s food culture and lifestyle through the
experiences on site and critical analysis.
Significance:
The importance of having this research is to comprehend the past and current
situation of the food consumption that is altered by the different kind of medium.
By exploring the cultural aspect and the lifestyle of the place, I will be able to
recognise values of food culture for a certain community or place. Besides, the
understanding of the relationship amongst architecture, site context and age
group, plays a vital role in capturing the tangible and intangible essence
portrayed in the food culture of a place/ community.
Methods:
1. Research from the Internet and library (readings and reference)
2. Study tour (on site observation and experience)
3. Photography and videography (documentation)
4. Interviews of locals, owners and customers (analysis and interpretation)
