The student evaluates their student magazine by answering a series of questions. They compare their magazine to real student magazines, noting they included typical elements like students on the cover and school information, but made it more fun by adding sections like gossip, fashion, and games. They represent their target audience of sixth formers at their school. The student concludes their magazine would be best distributed at their own school since it contains school-specific content and a less formal approach than the regular school magazine.

USE, DEVELOP, OR CHALLENGE FORMS AND

Real Student Ma gazine
My Student Magazine
• Have students on front cover
• Books
• School information
• Professional look
• Represents the school
• Attractive
My magazine was an incorporation
of all these basic parts of student
magazines however I decided to
make it a bit more teenage like and
add extra features like free prizes,
games, gossip, fashion, etc.
I made it more fun and less serious
instead of only basing it on school.
5. HOW DOES YOUR STUDENT MAGAZINE
REPRESENT PARTICULAR SOCIAL GROUPS?
My magazine was a representation of the sixth formers at St Edmunds college
which could also be seen as a representation of teenagers. I portrayed this
representation by using the one of the prefects who is Head of girls‟ barding,
Angela as the main story and front cover picture. My cover lines were very
informal and casual as teens would usually speak. It was quite stereotypical as
the headlines and features were all the usual “teenage” information e.g. latest
trends, iTunes vouchers etc.
6. WHAT KIND OF MEDIA INSTITUTION MIGHT DISTRIBUTE YOUR
MEDIA PRODUCT AND WHY?
Well, quite simply St Edmunds college despite the fact that they already have a
college magazine and here's why:
• It is an Edmundia Edition
• It is for just 6 th form
• It is directed at the school
• Special information not found in the college magazine e.g. UCAS articles
• Special games
• Free vouchers
• Special features
•
Has a less formal approach
•
Its contents are based on feedback from my questionnaire

9. WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT
TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE PROCESS OF
CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT
H i g h ’s
It was quite easy for me to use
PowerPoint(for this), Excel(for my
questionnaire analysis and word as I
have a lot of experience in these fields.
I was very proud of how well I used
publisher with no experience I learnt its
features very very well
Blogger, slide share and Dafont were
also new to me but I manage to learn al
the necessary basics very well
I also used a Nikon camera and scanner
along the lines and they were not new
to me and very easy to handle
Lows
My biggest problem and enemy
throughout the process was
definitely Photoshop, we had a little
starter class in class where we
produced a book cover however
this was nothing compared to the
amount of work for the real thing.
Although I learnt a few basic things
in Photoshop it definitely require a
lot more skill than I acquire! It was
the most difficult part of my
process
