2. • Early education is divided into two
cycles:
– first cycle, 0 to 3 years-old
– second cycle, 3-6 years.
• This is a non-compulsory phase of
education
• Compulsory education starts later,
after 6 years, with the primary stage.
4. • Public or state schools, the owner is a
public administration.
• Private schools, are authorized by the
competent authorities.
• and there are those that are not
authorized as schools, commonly called
"nurseries".

Technical Educator.
• The qualification required to teach the
second cycle (3-6), is Teacher
specialised in Infant Education.
