3. MEANING OF ANXIETY:
• Anxiety is an EMOTION
characterised by feelings of tension,
worried thoughts and physical
changes like increased blood
pressure. Emotion characterized by
an unpleasant state of inner turmoil.
4. DEFINITION OF ANXIETY :
• Anxiety is defined as a distress or
uneasiness of mind cause by fear of
danger or misfortune. [1]Very often,
people with anxiety also feel worries.
There can also be physicals
symptoms, like having a headache or
an upset stomach.
5. NATURE OF ANXIETY:
Anxiety
Future oriented mood state characterized by marked negative
effect.
Somatic symptoms of tension.
apprehension about future danger or misfortune.
Fear
Presented oriented mood state, marked negative effect.
Immediate fight or flight response to danger or threat.
Strong avoidance/ Escapist tendencies.
Involves abrupt activation of the sympathetic nervous system.
Anxiety and fear are normal emotional states.
