1. Desire to find a new trade route to Asia.
 Europeans were interested in Asian goods,
especially spices.
 Trade with east were difficult & expensive
because Muslims & Italians hold the trade.
2. Desire to earn fame, Glory & Wealth.
 As new lands discovered, Nations wanted to
claim the land’s riches for themselves.
