Effect of Irrigation Regimes on Inter-Cropping Systems
1.
2.
3. To find out suitable/feasible inter-
cropping system under availability of
irrigation facilities.
To study the effect of irrigation
regimes on the performance of inter-
cropping system.
4. A. Inter-cropping systems:
1. Sole crop French bean (S1).
2. Sole crop rapeseed (S2).
3. Rapeseed + French Bean in 4:1 ratio (S3).
4. French Bean + Rapeseed in 4 :1 ratio (S4).
5. B. Irrigation regimes:
1. Rainfed (I1).
2. Irrigation at flower initiation stage (I2).
3. Irrigation at pod formation stage (I3).
4. Irrigation at flower initiation, pod formation and pod
development stages (I4).
9. Total treatment combinations = 16
No. of replications = 3
Design to be followed = Split-plot design
Main plot = Irrigation regimes
Sub- plot = Inter-cropping system
Plot size:
a) Main plot = 7m x 9m= 63m 2 b) Sub-plot = 3m x 4m= 12m 2
Crop varieties: Spacing
a) Rapeseed: TS-36/TS-38 30 cm (R-R)
b) French bean: Contender/ Pusa Parvaty 45 x 30 cm

10. Recommended doses of fertilizers for the
respective base crops - Rapeseed and French
bean will be followed-
1. Rapeseed= 40:35:15:: N: P2O5: K2O kg/ha
2. French bean= 30:40:20:: N: P2O5: K2O kg/ha
Along with FYM@ 5t/ha.
