Shot List
Isobel Jackson
Start of the scene Callum is tied up in a chair, waking up wondering what is going on. There will be
jump cuts from each shot/view of Callum from a black screen with some fade transitions, giving the
effect of him waking up and opening and closing his eyes.
1. Long/Zoom Shot – Establishing shot showing Callum tied up in a chair ‘unconscious’ with high
key/natural lighting. Camera zooms from extreme long to long shot. Effect is fade shot to start
showing titles.
2. Medium Close Up Shot – Callum in chair, starting to lift his head up but then drops again. Effect
is fade to show more titles.
3. Close Up Shot – Callum’s feet starting to move. Same lighting. Effect is jump cut.
4. Extreme Close Up Shot – Close up of Callum’s face to show him not moving. Lighting still high
key. Effect is fade to show another title.
5. High Angle Shot – Callum still in chair, same lighting. Effect is jump cut, flashes of black screen
before you see the next shot.
6. Medium/Zoom Shot – Medium shot zooms out to a long shot. Callum still in chair, struggling to
get out. Effect is a fade out to show the title of the film.
The next part of the scene will open with the asynchronous sound that started in the last shot and
continues to the first shot of this next part of the scene. This is essentially showing how Callum got
there, almost like a flashback.
7. Long Shot – Fade up shot from a black screen showing Callum walking. Lighting is low key as it
is night time. Setting is a dark quiet road with a lot of trees around.
8. Medium Shot – Callum stops and pulls out his phone. Same lighting.
9. Over The Shoulder Shot – Showing Callum’s point of view of the phone, then answers it. Same
lighting. Editing transition from when he presses accept and starts to bring his arm up to him
putting the phone next to his ear.
10. Close Up Shot – Callum’s face, speaking on the phone. Same lighting.
11. Medium Shot – Callum putting his phone away and starting to walk again, coming towards the
camera. Same lighting.
12. Medium/Long Shot – Camera coming out from behind a tree at the side and then seeing
Callum walking, looking like someone is watching him. Same lighting.
13. Extreme Close Up Shot – Callum’s feet walking. Same lighting.
14. Medium/Long Shot – Camera behind him, can see a shadow walking and following him.
The next part of the scene, Callum finds a knife on the floor whilst he is walking to his friends
house.
15. Long Shot – Camera is handheld between branches making it seem as though someone is
watching him.
16. Medium/Long Shot – Callum walking and suddenly stops. Same low key lighting.
17. Close Up Shot – Callum’s face shocked as he looks at the ground. Same lighting
18. Point Of View Shot – A high angle shot of the knife on the ground. Low key lighting making it
hard to see.
19. Extreme Long Shot – As he bends down to see the knife, there is someone behind him. No face
is seen, just a silhouette of the villain.
20. Over the Shoulder Shot – Camera is over Callum’s shoulder as he bends down and picks up the
knife and looks at it.
21. Close Up/Low Angle Shot – Callum’s face as he looks at the knife. Same lighting. Effect is jump
cut.
22. Extreme Close Up Shot – Of the knife and as Callum drops it. Same lighting.
23. Extreme Long Shot – Same position of the shot where there is somebody behind Callum, it cuts
back to this shot to reveal that no one is there anymore.
24. Long Shot – Callum stands up and starts to look around him. Sees that there is no one there.
Same lighting.
The rest of the scene is Callum rushing to his friends house after he sees a knife. When he gets to
his friends house, he hears a scream and sees hand print on the window. The scene ends with a
hand being put over his face and the shot goes black.
25. Long Shot – Callum comes from behind the camera and starts to walk in front of it. He keeps
looking around and behind him in panic.
26. Medium Shot – Callum walks around a corner towards a house, camera is in front as he walks
round the corner. Lighting is still low key.
27. Close Up Shot – He hears a scream and stops, his face drops and starts to panic.
28. Medium Shot – He runs to the door and starts shouting. Same lighting.
29. Extreme Close up Shot – Callum’s face in shock and starts to back away from the door.
30. Close Up/Point Of View Shot – Of a handprint on the window.
31. Medium Shot – Cuts back to Callum, he starts to shout again.
32. Extreme Close up Shot – of Callum’s mouth, a hand is put over his face and another arm goes
around his neck. Start to back away and becomes a medium shot but then disappears as you
can’t see him any more in the darkness. It then cuts to a black screen.
