concrete results

• No need of another declaration
• Rather, Countries see the need of a working
strategy which will ultimately lead them
altogether to a higher level of efficiency in
water use and to a better position in the
international scenario.

Analysis of the legislations and evaluation of what is missing so as to make them compatible

Establishment of measures to meet water quality targets and to limit values of pollutant
emissions in transbaoundary waters and in national water.

Establishment of National Management Policies, agreeing on national management targets,

Agreements for sharing cross-border rivers/basins. 2008
Definition of National Legal Frameworks, specific to the reality of each country,
but in compliance with the requirements shared by all the countries. 2010
Strict and transparent rules of water allocation for various uses, allowing sector-based
planning, productive investments and guidance to expand access to water in each country. 2010
Development of National Institutional Frameworks for water management, establishing
systems that are suited to the water resources management, providing conditions to render
the relevant legislation operational.
