1. SIERPINSKI CARPET PROJECT
http://topologia.wordpress.com/sierpinski-carpet-project/
1. Each school receives 4 templates type M (P Purple corners) and 4 templates type V(G
Green corners)
Each school receives 256 purple stickers and 256 green stickers.
Each template will have 32 purple stickers and 32 green stickers.
2. Split students into 8 groups. Each group gets 1 template with the stickers to form the
2nd iteration.
3. For the 3rd iteration groups join their templates to get the following image
The rule is that two squares together must be of different colours.
We will get 8 similar formations. Each country has one, except Spain which has two.
4. Each school makes videos of the process and the final 3rd iteration.
5. We start a common capzles or similar and upload the videos.
6. We show the pieces of carpet in the Flashmeeting.
2. 7. Each country takes their 3rd iteration to Greece and we mount the 8 3rd iterations in a
public place or at the school to make the 4th iteration. We make a video to upload onto the
capzles.
Our 4th iteration must start with green,, because IES Alonso de Madrigal is 110, even
number.
I propose to follow the order in the application:
1. Romania, starting their third iteration with green.
2. France, starting their iteration with purple.
3. Italy, stRting their third iteration with green.
4. The Netherlands, starting their third iteration with purple.
5. Spain, starting one of the iterations with purple and the otherr with green.
6. Poland, starting their iteration with purple.
7. Greece, starting their third iteration with green.
8. Spain takes the whole carpet to be sent to mount the 5th iteration.
