Appian Announces Fourth Quarter and Full Year 2019
Financial Results
Fourth Quarter 2019 Financial Highlights
• Revenue: Subscription revenue was $43.1 million for the fourth quarter of 2019, up 28% compared to the fourth quarter of 2018. Total subscriptions revenue, which
includes sales of our SaaS subscriptions, on-premises term license subscriptions and maintenance and support, increased 26% year-over-year to $44.3 million for the
fourth quarter of 2019. Professional services revenue was $26.2 million for the fourth quarter of 2019, compared to $25.1 million for the fourth quarter of 2018. Total
revenue was $70.5 million for the fourth quarter of 2019, up 17% compared to the fourth quarter of 2018. Subscription revenue retention rate was 116% as of December
31, 2019.
• Operating loss and non-GAAP operating loss: GAAP operating loss was $(12.1) million for the fourth quarter of 2019, compared to $(13.3) million for the fourth quarter
of 2018. Non-GAAP operating loss was $(8.7) million for the fourth quarter of 2019, compared to $(8.5) million for the fourth quarter of 2018.
• Net loss and non-GAAP net loss: GAAP net loss was $(10.0) million for the fourth quarter of 2019, compared to $(13.9) million for the fourth quarter of 2018. GAAP
net loss per share attributable to common stockholders was $(0.15) for the fourth quarter of 2019, based on 67.3 million weighted-average shares outstanding, compared
to $(0.22) for the fourth quarter of 2018, based on 63.8 million weighted-average shares outstanding. Non-GAAP net loss was $(6.6) million for the fourth quarter of
2019, compared to $(9.1) million for the fourth quarter of 2018. Non-GAAP net loss per share was $(0.10) for the fourth quarter of 2019, based on 67.3 million basic
and diluted shares outstanding, compared to $(0.14) for the fourth quarter of 2018, based on 63.8 million basic and diluted shares outstanding.
• Adjusted EBITDA: Adjusted EBITDA was $(7.2) million for the full year 2019, compared to $(7.9) million for the fourth quarter of 2018.
Full Year 2019 Financial Highlights
• Revenue: Subscription revenue was $155.1 million for the full year 2019, up 34% compared to the full year 2018. Total subscriptions revenue was $160.1 million for
the full year 2019, an increase of 27% from the prior year. Professional services revenue was $106.3 million for the full year 2019, an increase of 5% from the prior year.
Total revenue was $266.3 million for the full year 2019, up 17% compared to the full year 2018.
• Operating loss and non-GAAP operating loss: GAAP operating loss was $(49.1) million for the full year 2019, compared to $(46.7) million for full year 2018.
Non-GAAP operating loss was $(32.7) million for the full year 2019, compared to $(30.7) million for the full year 2018.
• Net loss and non-GAAP net loss: GAAP net loss was $(49.4) million for the full year 2019, compared to $(49.5) million for the full year 2018. GAAP net loss per basic
and diluted share attributable to common stockholders was $(0.75) for the full year 2019, based on 65.5 million weighted average shares outstanding, compared to $(0.80)
for the full year 2018, based on 62.1 million weighted average shares outstanding. Non-GAAP net loss was $(32.8) million for the full year 2019, compared to $(33.4)
million for the full year 2018. Non-GAAP net loss per share was $(0.50) for the full year 2019, based on 65.5 million basic and diluted shares outstanding, compared to
$(0.54) for the full year 2018, based on 62.1 million basic and diluted shares outstanding.
• Adjusted EBITDA: Adjusted EBITDA was $(27.9) million for the full year 2019.
• Balance sheet and cash flows: As of December 31, 2019, Appian had cash and cash equivalents of $159.8 million. For the fourth quarter of 2019, cash used in operating
activities was $(6.0) million, compared with $(7.4) million in the fourth quarter of 2018. Cash used in operating activities was $(9.0) million for the year ended December
31, 2019, compared to cash used by operating activities $(31.3) million for the year ended December 31, 2018.

Aspen Technology Announces Financial Results for the Second Quarter
of Fiscal 2020
Summary of Second Quarter Fiscal Year 2020 Financial Results
AspenTech’s total revenue of $124.7 million included:
• License revenue, which represents the portion of a term license agreement allocated to the initial license, was $70.2 million in the
second quarter of fiscal 2020, compared to $93.4 million in the second quarter of fiscal 2019.
• Maintenance revenue, which represents the portion of the term license agreement related to on-going support and the right to future
product enhancements, was $45.3 million in the second quarter of fiscal 2020, compared to $41.0 million in the second quarter of fiscal
2019.
• Services and other revenuewere $9.2 million in the second quarter of fiscal 2020, compared to $6.0 million in the second quarter of
fiscal 2019
For the quarter ended December 31, 2019,
• AspenTech reported income from operations of $41.7 million, compared to income from operations of $63.8 million for the quarter
ended December 31, 2018.
• Net income was $38.3 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2019, leading to diluted net income per share of $0.56, compared
to diluted net income per share of $0.83 in the same period last fiscal year.
• Non-GAAP income from operations was $50.9 million for the second quarter of fiscal 2020, compared to non-GAAP income from
operations of $71.2 million in the same period last fiscal year. Non-GAAP net income was $45.5 million, or $0.66 per share, for the
second quarter of fiscal 2020, compared to non-GAAP net income of $65.1 million, or $0.92 per share, in the same period last fiscal
year. These non-GAAP results add back the impact of stock-based compensation expense, amortization of intangibles and acquisition
related fees. A reconciliation of GAAP to non-GAAP results is presented in the financial tables included in this press release.
• AspenTech had cash and cash equivalents of $80.5 million and total borrowings, net of debt issuance costs, of $345.1 million at
December 31, 2019.
• During the second quarter, the company generated $46.9 million in cash flow from operations and $48.1 million in free cash flow. Free
cash flow is calculated as net cash provided by operating activities adjusted for the net impact of: purchases of property, equipment and
leasehold improvements; capitalized computer software development costs, and other nonrecurring items, such as acquisition related
payments.

environment in capital intensive industries was uncertain, spending remained favorable as customers recognized that investments
in digitalization can drive meaningful improvements in the operating efficiency and financial performance of their business, said

BMC Announces Intent to Acquire RSM Partners

Flexera Acquires Software Usage Analytics Leader Revulytics and
Expands Software Monetization Portfolio
Flexera, a demonstrated leader in software installation, open source software scanning, and software
monetization, announced that it has acquired Revulytics, a recognized leader in software usage analytics.
Software usage analytics is a fast-growing space. As software companies evolve their business models,
understanding product usage is a critical success factor. As highlighted in the Flexera Monetization Monitor:
Usage Management and Insights, companies that understand usage are more confident that their price is aligned
with value, but only 35% of companies can gather product usage data very well with on-premises software
companies lagging further behind. With the acquisition of Revulytics, Flexera continues to expand its software

Third Quarter Fiscal Year 2020 Financial Highlights:
• Revenue of $153.0 million, compared to $124.0 million for the third quarter of
fiscal 2019.
• GAAP loss from operations was $(24.2) million, compared to $(8.5) million for
the third quarter of fiscal 2019.
• Non-GAAP income from operations was $3.0 million, compared to $7.8 million
for the third quarter of fiscal 2019.
• GAAP net loss attributable to New Relic per basic share was $(0.46), compared
to a loss of $(0.18) per basic share for the third quarter of fiscal 2019.
• Non-GAAP net income attributable to New Relic per diluted share was $0.09,
compared to $0.19 per diluted share for the third quarter of fiscal 2019.
• Cash, cash equivalents and short-term investments were $736.7 million at the
end of the third quarter of fiscal 2020, compared with $771.5 million at the end

Broadcom Inc. announced the availability of a portfolio of Wi-Fi 6E devices. Wi-Fi 6E is a new standard that builds on the rich feature set of
Wi-Fi 6, including OFDMA and other multi-user operations that improve performance in crowded environments, advanced roaming
capabilities and increased security. Wi-Fi 6E extends the Wi-Fi 6 standard to support the soon-to-be-operational 6 GHz band. This new band
enables up to 1,200 MHz of spectrum for Wi-Fi use, which WLAN access point (AP) manufacturers can leverage to deliver faster speeds,
higher capacity and lower latency with no congestion from legacy devices. These devices coupled with the new spectrum will further
accelerate the deployment of Wi-Fi 6 technology delivering a steady, swift and secure consumer experience. This expands upon the existing
Wi-Fi 6 ecosystem which has over 125 million smartphones. The innovations of Wi-Fi 6E open up unprecedented capacity for high-bandwidth
applications such as 8K video streaming, real-time immersive gaming, virtual and augmented reality, and high-speed tethering. The new 6
GHz spectrum band is expected to be operational in the United States in 2020, and a wide ecosystem of 6 GHz-enabled devices will be

divisions, from customer experience to marketing to commerce. A first phase in Rheem's customer experience transformation is the mapping of processes in Nintex
Promapp for the successful roll-out of its SAP CRM and field service management applications across the Rheem call centre and service business. This will replace
manual processes currently stored in Visio and Word documents and provide consistency in sales and service, regardless of location. In addition, to support the new
processes, the company is deploying a range of rugged phones for service technicians, with customer-facing software applications aimed at improving the
employee and customer experience.

Merck, a leading science and technology company, announced that it has been selected by Swedish molecular diagnostics firm Elypta as the contract
manufacturer for Elypta’s clinical diagnostic liquid biopsy kits. The kits analyze metabolites deregulated in several cancer types, making diagnoses
more accurate. The kits, which will be manufactured at Merck’s Life Science facility in St. Louis, Missouri, will initially be made available for research
use only. They are intended for mass spectrometry systems and will allow qualified researchers to measure the full spectrum of human
glycosaminoglycans in body fluid samples. Merck, which has more than 30 years’ experience in the diagnostics space, has been working with Elypta
toward the customization of assay kits. Elypta plans to qualify the kits for in-vitro diagnostics use in the United States and European Union following
completion of clinical validation studies, including one evaluating performance in surveillance of kidney cancer recurrence. The Applied Solutions
business unit within the Life Science business of Merck focuses on diagnostic, testing and industrial customers and provides products and solutions that
streamline processes, lower costs and deliver reliable results. Merck, a leading science and technology company, operates across healthcare, life science

Total subscriptions revenue, which includes sales of our SaaS subscriptions, on-premises term license subscriptions and maintenance and support, increased 26% year-over-year to $44.3 million for the fourth quarter of 2019. Professional services revenue was $26.2 million for the fourth quarter of 2019, compared to $25.1 million for the fourth quarter of 2018. Total revenue was $70.5 million for the fourth quarter of 2019, up 17% compared to the fourth quarter of 2018. Subscription revenue retention rate was 116% as of December 31, 2019. • Operating loss and non-GAAP operating loss: GAAP operating loss was $(12.1) million for the fourth quarter of 2019, compared to $(13.3) million for the fourth quarter of 2018.
