Ironsource acquires SOOMLA to Enrich its Platform with Ad Quality Insights
IronSource, a leading business platform for app developers, announced its acquisition of ad
quality measurement platform SOOMLA. Adding SOOMLA’s technology to ironSource’s suite
of solutions provides app and game developers with more tools to effectively manage the
advertising inside of their apps. The technology will provide developers with insight on ads
running inside their apps, helping them distinguish between ads that may be inappropriate,
misleading or that violate a denylist and could potentially harm user experience and cause churn,
from those ads that provide a positive user experience. Developers can then act on those insights
to create a better user experience. Following the acquisition, SOOMLA’s solution will continue
to be available to developers using other mediation services. In-app ad monetization has
continued to grow, with greater adoption across apps and games. This includes mobile game
genres that have traditionally relied on in-app purchases and are now driving additional revenue
from their games through ads strategically incorporated as an integral part of gameplay. In this
context, SOOMLA’s ad quality intelligence technology adds an important layer to ironSource’s
tech stack, allowing developers of any size to gain greater insight into and control over their
users’ ad experience. This includes understanding which ads perform as expected, drive user
engagement and are in line with industry standards, or conversely, negatively impact user
experience and risk churn. Following the acquisition, Yaniv Nizan and the SOOMLA team will
join ironSource to continue developing and improving their technology.

enterprise file transfer acceleration. FileCatalyst enables organizations

Merck Acquires AmpTec to Expand mRNA Capabilities for Vaccines, Treatments
and Diagnostics
Merck, a leading science and technology company, announced the acquisition of AmpTec, a
leading Hamburg, Germany-based, mRNA contract development and manufacturing
organization . The deal strengthens Merck’s capabilities to develop and manufacture mRNA
for its customers for use in vaccines, treatments and diagnostics applicable in Covid-19 and
many other diseases. Financial terms were not disclosed. Lipids, which are part of the
SAFC® portfolio in Merck’s Life Science business sector, constitute one of the critical
components for the formulation of mRNA therapeutics including Covid-19 vaccines. Merck,
with more than 20 years’experience in this space, is collaborating with more than 50 vaccine
manufacturers – some of which use mRNA for their products – to support their efforts in the
development and production of Covid-19 vaccines, treatments and services. PCR technology
is another important component of mRNA manufacturing. AmpTec uses a differentiated
PCR-based technology for mRNA manufacturing, which has shown to have advantages over
other manufacturing technologies, including:
• Advantages in homogeneity, purity, activity and flexibility.
• Higher quality and improved performance.
• Flexible capping options to reach specific performance requirements.

Pega Acquires Qurious.io for AI-Powered Speech Analytics
Pegasystems Inc. , the software company that crushes business complexity,
announced its acquisition of Qurious.io, Inc., a cloud-based real-time speech
analytics solution powered by artificial intelligence (AI) for customer service
teams. Terms of the deal are not being disclosed. Qurious.io’s
software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering uses speech-to-text, natural language
processing (NLP), and emotion detection capabilities to analyze the dialog within
each customer service call as it happens. The software then provides agents with
real-time insights and coaching so they can improve customer interactions, make
better recommendations, and boost customer loyalty and sales. The company was
founded in 2016 in San Francisco by recent Forbes 30-Under-30 winners Sabrina
Atienza, CEO, and George Ramonov, CTO. Pega plans to add Qurious.io’s
capabilities to its software portfolio with an initial focus on Pega Customer
Service™ use cases. More details on this new cloud-based offering are planned to
be revealed at the annual PegaWorld iNspire conference being held virtually on
May 4, 2021.

2Q21 Trading Update: Strong quarter on quarter originations growth
across a diversified and balanced portfolio
• Total originations of $100.7 million in 2Q21, up 25.9% on prior quarter (1Q21: $80.0 million) and
43.0% lower than prior corresponding period (“pcp”) (2Q20: $176.8 million).
• The Company experienced strong month on month growth in originations during the quarter. $98.6
million (97.9%) of the $100.7 million total originations were on standard products[2], with $19.6 million
originated in October, $32.4 million in November and $46.6 million in December.
• Significant growth in New Zealand with originations of A$18.0 million, up 200% on prior quarter
(1Q21: A$6.0 million), up 25.0% on pcp (2Q20: A$14.4 million).
• Annual portfolio yield maintained despite the impact of COVID-19 with the annual yield for the 12
months to December 2020 of 31.0% only marginally lower than the 12 months to September 2020 (31.5%).
• Stable static loss rates have remained within the Board mandated loss tolerance rate of 4-6%,
demonstrating the effectiveness of Prospa’s purpose-built credit decision engine.
• Continued tight management of operating costs at $17.2 million in 2Q21, down 18.9% on pcp (2Q20:
$21.2 million).
• Total coverage for expected credit losses declining as a percentage of receivables is 10.4% (1Q21:
11.1%) with a total provision of $35.5 million (1Q21: $37.6 million).
• Strong balance sheet and liquidity with $420.3[3] million in available third-party facilities ($120.6
million in available undrawn facilities[4]) and $110.9 million of cash (of which $47.0 million is
unrestricted) to continue to support growth as conditions improve.
• Prospa’s Net Promoter Score remains more than 77[5], and Prospa is ranked #1 in the Non-bank
Financial Services category in Australia and New Zealand on independent review site TrustPilot.

“We are pleased to report strong quarterly growth in originations as we see small business demand for
capital increasing faster than we had previously expected. It is particularly significant that demand for
our products has grown following the conclusion of the Government Guarantee Scheme at the end of
September. Our New Zealand operations continue to go from strength to strength, having our busiest
ever month in December, benefitting from the country’s earlier recovery from the impact of COVID.
We took a proactive role as a responsible lender for the SME sector during the pandemic and adjusted
our credit risk assessment accordingly to ensure we are now in the strongest position possible to
support small businesses as demand for capital returns. This deliberately restrained risk appetite at the
height of the pandemic (particularly during the fourth quarter of FY20) had resulted in a reduction of
Average Gross Loans for the first half of FY21. In light of the current low-COVID trading
environment, we expect our balance sheet will return to growth in the second half of the year as
originations continue to improve.”

Blueprint Software Systems, a leading provider of the most powerful process automation design environment on the market, announced the availability of a

Broadcom Inc. announced that the BCM4389 chip enables the world’s first Wi-Fi 6E phone, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. The BCM4389 combines the benefits
of the sixth generation of Wi-Fi with the pristine 6 GHz band to power the Galaxy S21 Ultra with Wi-Fi speeds over 2 Gbps. The chip also has a unique multi-radio
Bluetooth 5 architecture that supports a premium audio experience with Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro, and Tri-Band Simultaneous (TBS) connectivity that improves
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth performance and battery utilization. Wi-Fi 6E, the latest generation of Wi-Fi, delivers multi-gigabit speeds and millisecond latencies by
operating in the 6 GHz band. Countries, including the United States and South Korea, have tripled the available Wi-Fi spectrum by opening up 1.2 GHz of spectrum
in the 6 GHz band for unlicensed use. This expansion creates seven additional 160 MHz channels for the BCM4389, unlocking the value of Wi-Fi 6E for remote
work, education, telemedicine, and gaming. For more information on Wi-Fi 6E, The Broadcom® BCM4389 and Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra bring additional
benefits to consumers worldwide. The chip delivers multi-gigabit Wi-Fi 6 performance in the existing 5 GHz band with 160 MHz capabilities. It also builds on the
success of Broadcom’s Wi-Fi 6 solutions, and instantly benefits from the ecosystem of 400 million Wi-Fi 6 Broadcom-enabled phones, PC, tablets, routers,
enterprise access points, and carrier gateways around the world. The BCM4389 was the world’s first Wi-Fi chip authorized by the FCC to operate in the 6 GHz
band. It is also in the first wave of devices certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance for Wi-Fi 6E operation. In addition to Wi-Fi 6E, Broadcom BCM4389’s TBS connectivity
architecture brings better Wi-Fi QoS, more precise indoor location accuracy and five times better battery utilization compared to current flagship connectivity

Blue Prism’s intelligent automation technology is being embraced by Mencap, the UK’s leading learning disability charity, who are one
of the world’s first not for profit organizations to use robotic process automation (RPA) technology to work smarter, faster and more
efficiently than ever - without using additional resources. The Covid-19 pandemic has proved difficult for everyone, but people with a
learning disability have been one group who have been hit hardest. It’s increasingly important that the charity is able to work efficiently
to provide the best possible support for the 1.5 million people in the UK with a learning disability. This technology is not only generating
hundreds of monthly hours back to the organization but will also provide significant cost savings by 2021. Mencap staff are achieving
this seemingly impossible goal by training Blue Prism’s smart software robots to perform work across their back-office operations.
Mencap employs around 8,500 colleagues to support people with a learning disability and their families, by fighting to change laws,
improve services and provide access to education, employment and leisure facilities. Organizing this effort nationwide is a huge

ZoomInfo , a global leader in go-to-market intelligence solutions, recently wrapped up its 2020 Winter Donation Drive, with employees teaming up to raise $651,623 for youth- and family-focused
nonprofit organizations in its local communities. More than $600,000 of these funds were raised by Vancouver-based employees to support the nearby Evergreen Family & Community Resource
Centers. Despite the challenges of 2020, employees again set a ZoomInfo company record for funds raised through the annual month-long event, more than doubling the $241,000 they raised in 2019.
This year’s efforts bring the five-year total to more than $1.23 million in cash and in-kind donations. Included in the total is a $100,000 donation contributed by ZoomInfo Co-Founder Kirk Brown
and his wife, Ashley. Members of ZoomInfo’s Board of Directors – as well as many of the bankers, lawyers, accountants, and other advisors that managed ZoomInfo’s initial public offering in June
2020 – also contributed to the fundraiser.
During the 2020 Winter Donation Drive, ZoomInfo employees raised funds for nine organizations local to their communities:
• Vancouver, Wash. – As a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the Evergreen Public Schools and the community and schools as a whole, the Family & Community Resource Centers
partners with the Southwest Washington community to bridge the basic needs gap, foster innovative and engaging learning experiences, and maximize opportunities to ensure that all students have
access to their most basic needs.
• Waltham, Mass. – Cradles to Crayons is driven by a focused and all-important goal: to make life better for children in need. To make this happen, they connect communities that need, with
communities that have. A Massachusetts winter can be debilitating, so this time of year, Cradles to Crayons runs the Gear Up for Winter program to supply winter gear to children whose families
struggle just to stay warm and prepare them for winter before it becomes an emergency.
• Bethesda, Md. – The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington offer accessible and affordable after-school programming to children and teens in Washington, Maryland, and Northern Virginia.
Its facilities create a sense of physical and emotional safety for their young members, and their staff makes the club feel like home – fostering a family atmosphere. The young people are afforded the

AI Research since 2017. As part of the transition from Facebook to FOSSASIA Visdom has been relicensed under an
OSI approved license - the Apache License 2.0 as fully Open Source. This is a fantastic win for the FOSS community.
Visdom is now available on the FOSSASIA GitHub. Visdom is a flexible tool for creating, organizing, and sharing
visualizations of live, rich data. It aims to facilitate visualization of (remote) data with an emphasis on supporting
scientific experimentation. It supports PyTorch and Numpy. The project was created by Allan Jabri and Laurens van
der Maaten at Facebook, and further developed under the leadership of Jack Urbanek. To date, 90 developers from
around the world have contributed to the project with over 3000 projects depending on Visdom.

The deal strengthens Merck’s capabilities to develop and manufacture mRNA for its customers for use in vaccines, treatments and diagnostics applicable in Covid-19 and many other diseases. Financial terms were not disclosed. Lipids, which are part of the SAFC® portfolio in Merck’s Life Science business sector, constitute one of the critical components for the formulation of mRNA therapeutics including Covid-19 vaccines. Merck, with more than 20 years’experience in this space, is collaborating with more than 50 vaccine manufacturers – some of which use mRNA for their products – to support their efforts in the development and production of Covid-19 vaccines, treatments and services. Financial, M&A Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable 2Q21 Trading Update: Strong quarter on quarter originations growth across a diversified and balanced portfolio • Total originations of $100.7 million in 2Q21, up 25.9% on prior quarter (1Q21: $80.0 million) and 43.0% lower than prior corresponding period (“pcp”) (2Q20: $176.8 million). • The Company experienced strong month on month growth in originations during the quarter. $98.6 million (97.9%) of the $100.7 million total originations were on standard products[2], with $19.6 million originated in October, $32.4 million in November and $46.6 million in December. • Significant growth in New Zealand with originations of A$18.0 million, up 200% on prior quarter (1Q21: A$6.0 million), up 25.0% on pcp (2Q20: A$14.4 million). • Annual portfolio yield maintained despite the impact of COVID-19 with the annual yield for the 12 months to December 2020 of 31.0% only marginally lower than the 12 months to September 2020 (31.5%). • Stable static loss rates have remained within the Board mandated loss tolerance rate of 4-6%, demonstrating the effectiveness of Prospa’s purpose-built credit decision engine. • Continued tight management of operating costs at $17.2 million in 2Q21, down 18.9% on pcp (2Q20: $21.2 million). • Total coverage for expected credit losses declining as a percentage of receivables is 10.4% (1Q21: 11.1%) with a total provision of $35.5 million (1Q21: $37.6 million). • Strong balance sheet and liquidity with $420.3[3] million in available third-party facilities ($120.6 million in available undrawn facilities[4]) and $110.9 million of cash (of which $47.0 million is unrestricted) to continue to support growth as conditions improve. • Prospa’s Net Promoter Score remains more than 77[5], and Prospa is ranked #1 in the Non-bank Financial Services category in Australia and New Zealand on independent review site TrustPilot.
