WB MON 17th Sept, 2012 – Fire Brigade Course
WB MON 24th Sept, 2012–Pre-Production
We have had a meeting about what we are going to film, and how it was all going to come together
in terms of the viewer understanding our story easily. How our film comes together is important
therefore we wrote numerous ideas down and discussed between our self which was the best in
terms of feasibility and how attention capturing it was.
WB MON 1st Oct, 2012 - Pre-Production
During this week we had two meetings to discuss between ourselves and develop the idea we have
chosen to pursuit with. We weren’t sure whether or not having a monster in our film was going to be
feasible during filming. We decided we were going to add one in but the viewers never actually see
it.
WB MON 8th Oct, 2012 – Plans for filming
We decided we were going to film at the Three Sisters as it is close to college and has the
environment we are looking for. This week we also decided on who was going to do what role when
we got to shooting our scenes.
WB MON 15th Oct, 2012 – Filming scenes for our short film
We filmed scenes of Charlie (Sam) walking through woodland. We did numerous shots of Charlie for
each part we filmed ensuring we could link the different shots together in post-production to ensure
continuity.
WB MON 22nd Oct, 2012 – Filming scenes for our short film
We went to our different locations to record our film and ambient sounds. The ambient sounds
didn’t work out because the wind made the microphone crackle.
WB MON 29th Oct, 2012 – Half Term
WB MON 5th Nov, 2012 – Final week of filming scenes
We filmed the last of our scenes that were outstanding; we then filmed extra parts so that we had
options when editing them. Having options meant that we could adjust the storyline when editing if
we needed to for any reason.
2. WB MON 12th Nov, 2012 – Editing preparation / ideas
I added all my scenes to a premier project and planned out how I was going to edit the film so that it
helped tell the story and make it easier for the film to understand. I had numerous ideas which I
narrowed down to the one I have used, the main idea adjustments was with the ending.
WB MON 19th Nov, 2012 – Editing beginning title and end credits
In the end I didn’t use a beginning title or end credits because I think the film looks more effective
without them.
WB MON 26th Nov, 2012 – Editing my short film
Made sure all my clips were fluent with the storyline so that the audience of my film understands
the story clearly, which overall makes my film a more effect production.
WB MON 3rd Dec, 2012 – Editing my short film
Added effects to the appropriate clips including colour corrections, slow motion, motion blurring etc.
WB MON 10th Dec, 2012 – Absent with illness
WB MON 17th Dec, 2012 – Final editing of my short film The Book
Made sure all the transitions and editing was fluent and appropriate for that part of the film. I also
double checked that the clips were in the right order.
WB MON 7th Jan, 2013 – Finishing off any unfinished work for Iain and other tutors
