We were assigned to create a short film and complete all necessary production documents, including a floor plan, role sheet, and risk assessments. The student created these documents and uploaded them to their blog before the deadline. When filming, they ensured good camera angles and proper lighting and audio levels. Later, the footage was edited in Premier Pro to create a continuous film with added music. However, the final film had issues with continuity between days of filming and parts where the music was too loud to hear dialogue.

1. Self Assessment for Short Film
We were given the task of making a short film for a story of our choosing, we then
had to fill in all of these different production videos so that we can make it look like
an actual film. We had to draw up a floor plan so that we can show what the set would
look like when we had put down all of the equipment. We also had to write out a role
sheet so that we knew what our jobs were when we got sent in to do our work, we
then had: risk assessments and other bits of paperwork that had to be done in order
before we could do our shooting, I feel that I did well on this part as I managed to
finish all of the production files and then I got them uploaded onto my blog well
before the deadline. When it came to filming our work we had to make sure that we
were getting good angles and making sure that the room wasn’t too dark/ bright. We
then needed to make sure that the audio wasn’t too loud/ quiet so there was a lot of
different aspects that we needed to cover in order to not miss out on getting the best
marks. Then later on we needed to upload our footage onto Premier Pro so that we
could edit it into an actual film, we had to make sure that the film had continuity
otherwise it would be clear that we just stuck lots of different clips together. We also
had the choice to add music to the video so that it wasn’t just a silent film. When we
had the finished film there were a couple of issues with it, the continuity of the film
was off since we filmed in two different days. So when we looked at the film the first
half was bright and well lit, whereas the second half was much darker showing that it
was filmed on completely different days. The music was also too loud at certain
stages, there was times when you couldn’t hear the actors talking in the film since the
music was too loud.
