Be fair to yourself. • Gently explore involving non-instruction librarians in conducting subject-specific sessions.   17. 17. Be Less Perfectionistic • Perfectionism has been shown by research to be a causal element in burnout. • Underlying cause behind idealism-burnout hypothesis. • Can set in motion a vicious cycle that destroys joy in work. • “Busyness” is a modern disease.
  18. 18. Take Lunch • This is a simple rule-of-thumb that can singlehandedly decrease your feelings of stress at work. • Try to make it sacred. Treat it like a commandment from God. • Make sure to do it OUTSIDE your building.
