1. Nós Propomos! / We Propose Project
Citizenship, Sustainability and Innovation
in Geographical Education
In Geography class, under the project “Nós Propomos!”, the group showed interest in working
on the subject of the abandoned Hotel of Foz da Sertã. After an investigation we found out that the
Hotel was built in 1951, being one of the most glamorous and luxurious Hotels of the region. Attached
to the Hotel there was a very famous water source whose first exploration goes back to 1894. The
Hotel shut down for unknown reasons in 1974 and has been abandoned ever since.

✓The reconstruction of the Hotel
✓Building a yacht or nautical club for water resources exploitation, with sports, leisure and
adventure activities.
✓Setting-up a range of activities to boost the Hotel space, such as: spa and thermal service,
trekking, hiking, rappelling, among others.
